“I live in Texas but saw a CBS interview of this lovely place with the owner. First of all I wish I lived closer because my mouth was watering the entire time, but most importantly you could tell the owner, Chef Samir, is absolutely in love with what he does and how he does it. When a chef puts as much love into his food as he does, you already know its going to be amazing. This restaurant has made it to my bucket list. I hope to meet Chef Samir some day!”

“Absolutely amazing experience at Mr. Zuiliano’s Venezuelan Food Truck! It is parked in the lot with Hardee's and the CVS on 32 and Cumberland. The food was out of this world — super flavorful, fresh, and totally unique.

We had the arepas (seriously, just look at that beauty!) and the empanadas, and every bite was better than the last. Plus, they have tables and chairs so you can sit, relax, and dive right into all that goodness.

This place is a gem — HIGHLY recommend! We’re already planning our next trip back for more!”

On the old online ordering it was easy to order side orders of all the hibachi meats and sides, now on the new online ordering, this isn’t an option. I have to call, which is challenging, because it’s loud and they can barely hear me. Please bring back ordering of all hibachi sides on online ordering!”

I've driven by here for awhile and we decided to check it out last week. In that time, we've now been 3 times and love it more each time.

The mac & cheese is from another planet it is so good. My wife greatly prefers it plain whereas I like the chicken. She even said it's better than a high end restaurant I love in Cincinnati which she knows is a bold statement with me.

The wings and pretzel breadsticks are delicious along with the asian style ribs.”

There is some sidewalk seating for a few but the majority will sit at cool, sturdy picnic-style seating. I love communal seating, great way to meet new people.
I love the medium-toned wood throughout, the exposed brick, the cool metal ceiling. A roomy, comfortable place.
For those in wheelchairs, you need the side entrance (unreachable from Logan St). Go around back, where there is some parking apparently, and roll on in. Once inside, y'all are good.
The beertender was chill. We talked a bunch because it was a gloomy, rainy Tuesday before Turkey Day & there wasn't a lot of traffic. Nice guy.”

“While I'm not a fan of "hunting lodge" style atmosphere, I can see the appeal. Dining room was clean and the staff was very friendly. Chef Shawn has a strong passion for BBQ and it shows! I took my In Laws there for dinner. Their BBQ parfait was outstanding and the pulled pork was tender, moist and full of flavor. Exactly what you want when you go for a pulled pork sandwich. I highly recommend you at least give it a try!

I chose the busy dinner time last time and today, and they are still very patient. The service was amazing as well, very friendly and helpful. The prices are very reasonable and not nearly as pricey as most brunch/ dinner places in the area. I HIGHLY recommend this for your next lunch, dinner and we will most definitely return (often!). “McAlister’s has been nothing but a blessing for our family since 2012.

For 13 years, we have been at this restaurant sharing fellowship with friends over sweet teas, playing board games on their four-chair flattop tables late into the evening on date nights, grading homework and writing lessons, and getting to know the people who serve at McAlister’s.

It’s become a second home for us, and I felt the need to write a small review on Google to share the joy it is to be a part of a company that cares and commits to high quality service in all they do.

When my wife and I were backpacking Europe, we loved the cafes to sit and eat and enjoy the areas we were exploring. In the States, cafes are not really a staple in communities like they are in places like London or France. I can still remember walking to a café on a Sunday night full of crowded people still having a merry time with family and friends. Our culture isn’t in the same sort of social capital, but man, we ache for those experiences.

McAlister’s provides that sense of nostalgia for our traveling in the sense that it brings great crowds of people after church on Sundays, opens its door until late in the evening, and always has a caring staff to connect and share life with. We always found a space each week to connect with the people who serve in this establishment, and it’s the reason why we’ve been going for so many years.

From Brendan Shupe, the current general manager, sharing tips to his employees in personal finance or celebrating the birth of Chris’s son, Henry, there are people there who are deeply rooted to serving others the sweet tea goodness, laughs, and a simply ‘hug’ in food.

I know that there are so many places we can try and experience in this very competitive market and world in the States, but McAlister’s has done something truly unique for us.

They set a high standard of an atmosphere that transcends restaurant into a place of comfort and feeling of home.

For that, we’ll be entertaining ourselves in their ‘café’ for unforeseeable future!

“Food is usually very good but the coffee needs an upgrade. Servers are always polite, friendly and get the order correct. Did I mention that the coffee needs an upgrade? Tables are usually cleaned very well.

“There are other locations closer to me but I prefer to drive the extra 2 miles to go to this location for the drive-thru. I typically customize my order and they usually get it right. Service is a little slow but that's all of them. The only thing I don't like about all of the locations is that they always fix the smoothies before the food. Then I have to try not to drink it up before my food is ready or it starts to melt. The staff is always friendly here. I've not eaten inside so I cannot speak to the atmosphere.”

“Came for lunch around 1 o clock. There was nobody else there so we sat down to eat in . It was nice and quiet not loud at all. We placed an order for 2 soups and a lunch special , the total came out to about $15 for 2 people . After we sat down the food came out not even 5 minutes later . Everything was hot and fresh , and for the price you can’t beat it . Was just in the area running errands (live in Indianapolis) but I’d make the drive home here to come back sometime to try some other things for sure . I got the lunch special shrimp lo mein (w fried rice), and my friend got the chicken noodle soup and egg drop soup.”

The woman who answers the phone and is usually present when I pick up my order is very friendly. Orders have always been correct and fast. I have tried all my favorites: shrimp with lobster sauce; chicken chow mein; steamed dumplings; pork egg roll; roast pork lo mein; chicken w/ broccoli; egg drop wonton soup; pork fried rice. Everything has great flavor without being overly salty, and tastes fresh. I love how some of the vegetables are soft in the chicken chow mein, yet other veggies are still crunchy. The egg drop wonton soup is truly the best I've ever had. In fact, I'm eating it right now. My only wish is they add spare ribs to the menu. *fingers crossed*”
