“OMG this place is good!!! Found this recommendation off of TikTok. I had the pot roast, mac & cheese, yams, and cabbage. Wow! Don’t judge the place from the outside, (or even the inside,) but the food is phenomenal. The owner is the nicest person on the planet. As a no-spice, white bread eating white guy from the northside, I wasn’t too sure if I was gonna like the jerk, but it was good ! I will definitely be back!“
“I love the concept (striving to encourage healthy eating) and the fact that it is a black-owned business in a black neighborhood is even better. The food has been top notch all 3 times that I have ordered from here; they do not disappoint. There has not been a dish that I didn't like (red snapper, greens, carrot fluff, turkey burger, need I say more?!). My colleague had a black bean burger, yesterday and returned today for another. “First time trying. It was amazing - I had the 6 piece jerk dinner ( included salad , plantains and red beans & rice under the chicken and a slice of bread ) I had an additional mac and cheese and yams ( they standard size is huge by the way, definitely get your moneys worth ) my total was under $14 before the extra sides I got but it came out to $24 with everything. It included 1 very small sauce but truly that’s all you need.Thank you all again!“
“First time here and definitely worth trying. The chicken is soft and well seasoned with the jerk flavors. Mac and cheese is cheesy and good. Cabbage is good..now the red beans and rice tasted like rice a roni..it didn’t have that real flavor of red beans and rice plus I think all I got was like three beans. Then it came with some sauce that was sweet, rubbed me the wrong way. But overall I would recommend for anyone to try for themselves.“

“The Whole Red Snapper is an Absolute must to have. I loved it!!!! My partner got the Jerk Salmon, it was far to spicy. We went at about 2pm, they didn't have any oxtail (oxtails was my reason to go to Ja grill ?) they said they wouldn't be ready until after 4pm?. They didn't have any bread Pudding as advertised ?. It's a small joint, with room for a handful of people to eat there. A number of hotdog offerings on the menu. We went traditional Chicago style (minus the sport peppers for me). If you are a tourist or visitor and go down to see the Pullman national historical site, stop by Royal BBQ on your way and show them some love. Get the oxtails or j*** chicken, plantains. I'm sure they do great BBQ but this is the place to go for a real taste of Jamaica.“
