You get to several items off the menu, for a scaled down menu for your guest. They provided a cake and gift tables. I had 50 people comfortably seated in the room. It was more than enough room. My family loved the food, it was fresh and came to the table hot in temperature. Jack was very helpful from the beginning to the end of the transaction. The two ladies who were our server were superb. They were did an excellent job attending to us and our questions and needs. But most of all my mom truly loved her experience there. “The service is top notch and down to earth. The cheese they use is grade A! I've had the deep dish before but wasn't a fan, only because it's too sweet of a sauce for my taste. However I recently tried the thin crust and it worked very well under the cheese with the sausage, bell pepper, onions and mushrooms. Seems like they saute the bell peppers and they are long pieces not diced. It's costly pie but we did get the 18 inch with 4 toppings, which came to $40. But all costs are rising. I would definitely come back to get a personal pizza for myself! I will have them brown the cheese next time. Definitely worth a try. I enjoyed the antipasto salad, just wish they chopped the meat and cheese instead of long slices that were still partially connected. I had to re-cut it which I didn't particularly mind doing but prefer it done for me if I'm paying for it.“

I had the fish, Mac and cheese, collards, stuffing. The best fried fish I HAVE EVER HAD. It tasted home-made. Everything was fresh and good and I’d have taken a picture but I was too busy stuffing my face! My husband said the lady behind the counter was super sweet and offered suggestions and he (who does not eat fish!) ate half my fish!! The portions are HUGE for the price and I will be returning. “It was a little after 9:00pm on a Saturday, when I spotted this J & J Restaurant. I went inside to place my order and was immediately impressed by its cleanliness. The floor, tables/seats, counters and the food preparation area...all very clean.The young woman that took my order was friendly and courteous. There was only one person ahead of me, however, some people had phoned in their orders, so there was a waiting period. I didn't mind because the time went so quickly. Also, unlike other J & J's, this one has a drive-thru.I ordered 3 dinners to go; a small jack salmon, a small ocean perch and a 6 pc. chicken wing dinner. Extras included an order of fried okra, hush puppies and a corn on the cob (a full size ear). Each dinner included:French fries, a very small cup of coleslaw and 2 slices of white bread in addition to the mild and hot sauce they provide.The fish was fried to perfection, light and crispy, not greasy. The chicken was also fried to perfection, crispy and not hard or greasy. All the side dishes were well prepared. Since none of us eats coleslaw or white bread, I can't speak about them.As for being different, in addition to its drive-thru, this J & J offers a variety of foods that I've never seen offered in any of the others; tacos, spaghetti, and a selection of salads, just to name a few.“

The pizza crust was amazing.I grew up on John's pizza when I lived in the Calumet region. My family usually visited other locations....Hammond and Calumet City. It's probably been 15 years since I last had John's. I picked up the pizza pictured and it was the same quality as the pizza I grew up on. Munster's John's did not dissappoint.
