“The BEST in Lawrence! We go here at least once a week (Taco Tuesday & sometimes on the weekend) everyone in the family is kind and treats you like one of their own family members. We’ve ordered churros, tripa tacos, asada tacos, asada burrito, chicken fajita quesadilla, quesabirri tacos & the new quesabirria ramen ALL exceptional!! If there is any issue with the order (which has only been once for me out of the dozen of times I’ve been) it will be resolved very fast with no hassle. “M & M Bakery is the place our family goes to for our special celebration cakes and desserts, and have done for over forty years! We recently had them prepare a large sheet cake celebrating an anniversary for our large group. The cake and frosting were fresh and moist and very delicious. Everyone complimented us on how great the cake was! We love their donuts, cookies, and other treats. Always fresh and a great assortment to choose from!“

“The Roost is a good breakfast place. BUSY, very busy. For two people on a Saturday morning around 10 am, we waited 40 minutes. Which is pretty normal I would think.We did hear the hostess tell larger parties that it could be upwards of an hour, maybe 2 hours of a wait. The front area can make you feel like a sardines in a can with it being so packed.I suggest if you are going downtown for any particular reason aside from breakfast, go get your name on the wait list and they can text you when a table is ready; and you can go do your errands or shopping.The food is reasonably priced for downtown Lawrence. The coffee is good. The sausage is extremely delicious, probably some of the best I've had. The rosemary breakfast potatoes are also quite yummy.The folks working there are kind, and attentive. They're rather efficient at getting everything cleaned up, and ready for the next group, as well as getting food and drink to you.“

“Y’all, I have been wanting to go here for a while and I’m so glad I did. I got a chocolate pecan coconut cookie bar. I used to love these as a kid. I haven’t seen one at any bakery… I told the lady I had to try it. Omg…. It was so good. Just like I remember when I was a kid but better. I’ll be back to try their food.“

“Not really great for dine in especially if you have kids (it’s small space) but the people are super nice and the food chefs kiss!!!!Kid-friendliness: They aren’t mean but not a place to dine in with kids there just isn’t space go to their location on mass street if you have a group“

“This is a great bakery, soup and sandwich place. I had the ham, broccoli, and cheddar soup which include 2 slices of artisan type bread. I also brought home a chocolate eclair which I haven't tasted as yet. An enjoyable lunch spot with great breads by the loaf as well as tortes, cheesecakes, cookies and much more. They serve breakfast too!“

“I love love love this place! The drinks and food are outstanding, the staff is efficient and kind, and it’s always a cute place to hang out! My only complaint and the reason I can’t hand out five stars for atmosphere is the new signs on the comically small high top tables…”this table is reserved for two or more persons.” If you’re not going to have hosts who keep track of seating in no way should you be trying to police where your patrons can sit…this is a cafe in a college town. People are gonna come sit by themselves and you’re putting your staff in the awkward position of enforcing this rule which is pretty antithetical to this coffee shop functioning as a coffee shop.“

“Stopped in for lunch today. Had the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich combo. So good. The soup had just a hint of zip; nice on a blustery day. The sandwich was made with several different cheeses, a blackberry jam, on artisan bread. Yes! This intimate joint is popular and special“

“Wow! I heard they were good. These donuts blew our socks off! Picked up 4 different ones, took them home and cut them in half so hubby and I could try each one. Soft, tender, light… each flavor came thru in a big way. Lime Twist??!! Delicious!! Highly recommend this place. You’ll not be disappointed.“
