“Went for a simple dinner and drinks with friends. There was a decent dinner rush we came in towards the end of on a Saturday evening at 730 but no wait. We enjoyed the tatchos and pretzel sticks with a few drinks before ordering burgers and the salmon blt. Food was good but we really liked the appitizers. Our server was still training but on her own and she was friendly and helpful and did a great job. They are open until 10 on sat but we were the last people there and left at 9pm. The vibe was good with others there and no one was rushing us but it felt odd to be so empty at 9pm. We will go back because we liked the food and service, but may go a bit earlier next time.“
“I went here the other night to check it out as it is a place I have driven by literally 1000 times. When I went inside, I was immediately greeted by Erica (maybe Emma?), the bartender working. She was SO pleasant and funny. She engaged me immediately, offered me a food menu, and started my drink. The drink was made perfectly, and was so refreshing. We talked about the outdoor space, and how nice it will be when it warms up. I asked about Karaoke, and she said she LOVED that also, and suggested I put that in the suggestion box . She agreed to mention that to her manager, so, I am hoping we can have an outdoor Karaoke night when it warms up. Anyhow, I got the burger, and it was fantastic. She had my place at the bar all prepared for the food delivery well before the food was given to me. She checked on me several times throughout my meal, and was very attentive. Her service reminded me of the old prohibition bars where the bartender actually treated you like a friend - and not just a customer. Finally, I told her I was in the mood for something sweet with an umbrella in it. I told her I was not picky at all, and left it completely up to her. Emma made me a concoction that was amazing, and really hit the spot. I encouraged her to write down the recipe, but, like all good bartenders, it was something she had already placed into memory. Really looking forward to stopping back by there, and hope that she is working again. Can't wait to outdoor Karaoke with you in the near future Emma.“
“Very cool room hidden off the alley. Had an Italian Beef (Jim's Beef) and had low expectations. Being from Chicago I was a bit snobby about anyone else outside of the Windy City doing an IB right. My apologies. Great sandwich. The bread was perfect. Tender, juicy meat. Giardiniera nice and spicy. My only gripe would be the lack of fries as a side. I had the jalepeno slaw and it was good, but fries are the natural side to a lovely beef. Will be back.“

“Family was looking for a place to eat while visiting KC, unique place for us. Menu was limited due to St. Patrick's day which was unfortunate because the pics online looked really good. That being said the food was really good. Even better though was the staff, very friendly and attentive, had 4 or 5 different employees ask how the food was and make sure we didn't need anything.“

“This is our third visit to this restaurant I thought they deserved some props. Food was tasty, portions were large and prices were very good. There was four of us and each person ordered a full plate lunch and drinks. Our check was around $90.00. Now some might freak at that but we all took home boxes with enough food for a second lunch. Our server was very helpful and attentive to everyone at our table. All of highly recommend Southside Bar & Grill for lunch. I'm sure it would be great for dinner too!“

“I was visiting KC for work and wanted to find a place to watch the KU vs KState game but also be able to throw some darts. This spot had good online reviews so I stopped in. It was packed with a lot of folks ready for the game and some others shooting pool. As you walk up there is a patio out front with other folks sitting outside having a smoke or just relaxing. I'm not a regular there but had no issues getting service and felt welcomed in by others around me. Definitely a place I'll visit again when I'm in town!I did not eat there so I can't speak to the food.“

“Just AMAZING!We were celebrating 2 birthdays and chose Governor Stumpy’s. Staff is amazing, very personable and on their game! Chris came and spoke to us specifically about our steak and hamburger orders. Incredibly knowledgeable about how beef should be cooked to have the most flavor. She also has a wonderful sense of humor. If you are still reading this long review, you need to know what happened at the end of our meal to understand how truly amazing everyone is at Governor Stumpy’s. I had a medical emergency and was unable to walk. I was guided to a table and I lost consciousness. I’m not sure how long I sat there, but a doctor who was eating at the restaurant was immediately called over. I believe Chris stayed with me the whole time too. After 20-30 minutes and I felt I could move, Chris had her staff surround me and line up all the way to the back door (I’m pretty sure this is how it happened, but things were a bit fuzzy) to help me to our car to go to the ER. I did not want to have an ambulance come and they respected that. I am not a religious person, but I felt like Chris and her staff were angels surrounding me to help me through this scary situation. I am fine now and can’t wait to go back to Governor Stumpy’s. Thank you a million times over to everyone!“
“Fun Bar & Grill. We came for the 1/2 price appetizer, happy hour special, and we were not disappointed. Ordered the fried mushrooms and fried pickle spears. Both were cooked perfectly, hot out of the fryer, and delicious. The sauces are also really good, truffle aoli and buttermilk ranch. The best part, though, was the very large mushrooms. We will go back for them again and again. Service was stellar!“

“We had our wedding and celebration at The Summit Grill in Lee’s Summit last night. WOW!!! I cannot give this place and their employees enough kudos. Shana, the event coordinator was exceptional and very responsive. The food was so good….everyone raved about how much they loved it. We did an appetizer buffet and chose a veggie tray, spin dip, chicken wings, chicken sliders, cheeseburger sliders and steak street tacos. The two dedicated bartenders we had were the very best! We had the back bar and outdoor area with a fire pit. It was above and beyond what we expected. I give this place the highest recommendation for any event. Also, their happy hour can’t be beat!
