“This is a nice upscale locally owned coffee shop. It's generally busy whenever I am here but the staff is well trained and can keep up. Plenty of seating options and you can sit outside on a nice day. I think they even allow dogs inside.“
“Panera's repertoire of classics and new specials never cease to amaze me! We stopped tonight enroute to visit someone in hospital who's suffered quite brutally with knee infections following three surgeries. The great food helped us escape our mixedfeelings of my wife's recent misfortunes.“
“Small cozy restaurant with amazing food and great service. We had a dinner for our group of 22 and everyone was happy with the choice. My sea bass was exquisite, for appetizers we had bruschetta and chipotle black bean dip. Delicious! I would have preferred the bruschetta with raw tomatoes (not cooked) and more basil taste, but it was good. Great culinary experience!“
“I come here frequently after getting groceries, one lady remembers me now and knows exactly what I order. I tried something new and it was delicious, I went to reorder it today and I accidentally ordered a tea instead of a latte. I did not like the tea and they made me a new drink even though it was my fault. I love this little shop! The Brown Sugar Boba Latte is my favorite. It is a small shop in downtown, so there arent a lot of places to park, which is to be expected. Good thing I walk everywhere. :)“
“I have attended a variety of poetic/open mic events here and the atmosphere is top tier. I love how this space is welcoming and it's always set up a different way each time.A perfect spot to meet some awesome people. Nestled in the heart of the city.Menu is light yet fulfilling and delicious decafe options are always available.3 words one awesome feeling:Honey Lavender LatteBlissCheck them out!! :)“
“If you've never been to Kitty's you need to stop reading these reviews and go right now. This is an amazing spot with a ton of history and has the best fast sandwich in KC. They don't skimp on the portion either, these are big sandwiches and they're 110% worth the money and wait.I love this spot and if you've never had it you're in for an absolute treat.“
“Hey Kansas City! If you were looking for breakfast, brunch, and hot coffee in Kansas City....Happy Gillis is the place to check out! This popular local breakfast gem is cute, quaint, and covered with beautiful plants. There are a few tables to sit at inside of the cafe to enjoy your meal. A lot of people will order their food to go and will take it to the nearby park to have a picnic when it is warm or they will take their meal back home to enjoy! If you order in person, there is a refillable coffee stand when you can keep your coffee cup warm and full. My favorite item to order is the class biscuits & gravy with a side of bacon. Unbelievable! There are a lot of fresh and tasty options on the Happy Gillis Cafe & Hangout menu. Stop by this little spot today!“
“Food was really good. Service was quirky and attentive. My only complaint about anything was the lighting. They have weird blue lights that (see picture) make it difficult to read the menu and see the food. I had to guess a lot about the flavors. This was on the back patio. I'll be back but I'm bringing my glasses next time.“
“I've often wanted to check out Messenger Coffee in the Crossroads, but was concerned about parking and it being on Grand - Busy street. I was having a, "Let's Seize the Day", moment and decided to give it a shot. Parking was as taxing as I guessed, but I only had to walk half a block to get inside. The first floor is austere and clean, but not very welcoming in my opinion. I'm much more of a soft fabric with muted lighting kind of girl. Still, it has an old charm that I can see a lot of people appreciating. I grabbed a treat and tea then headed upstairs to find seating. The stairs are daunting, but they have an elevator to make things easier. The second floor was packed, but the rooftop with its view of the city and firepit was empty - Score! There was a bit of wind, but nothing that the huge firepit couldn't handle. I happily spent my Seize the Day morning sipping hot tea, eating a tasty treat, and enjoying the view on the Messenger Coffee on Grand's rooftop.“
“My wife and I came here for ideas for our garden and I was blown away! So many beautiful plants, items to shop for inside, a lovely cafe, and outdoor seating among some of the plants. It’s a great feeling and a very enjoyable place to be. The staff was extremely helpful in providing us with information on different plants. I got a coffee to go from the cafe and it was the best lavender latte I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to return here.“
“I went a while ago, but this place was so cute and the staff was super nice. I got the prix fixe meal which came with a drink, entree, two sides, and a dessert for $20 which was amazing. I also love that they have changing lunch specials every week, it makes the menu really unique and you always have something new to try, and I did get a special as my entree. Everything I had was so good, and I have been trying to find the time to go back.“
“Cinnamon buns, guacamole toast, biscuits and gravy, breakfast burrito were all excellent. Their iced house coffee is good as well. Knocked off a star due to limited seating and when we ordered our coffee no one told us to wait at a counter (they deliver the rest of your food), so we ended up not getting that until we finally asked. When we did ask the server she just said oh they call your name (music plays loudly inside so no way you can hear unless you're right there) and leave it at the bar for you, and then she walked off.“
“This is a really nice place with many different sweet options. I was a little sad they only have milk or condensed milk. No half &half or cream. I settled for a latte with milk, and he got the strawberry milk shake. It's very sweet, and strawberry ? only took one drink, considering I can't have a lot of sugar. My coffee was hot, rich, and tasted like it had cream from milk added.I really liked the ambiance and that I could recycle ♻️ everything. Cup,straw, and cute heart coffee topper.“
“This is an excellent and unique cafe serving interesting and delicious food and drinks. I tried the Spicey Mayan Mocha and it was fantastic. The combination of chili, cocoa and coffee was a new experience that elevates the classic Mocha. I also tried the Jalapeno and Cheese Tamale which was absolutely killer! Service was great and the interior was clean and welcoming.I will definitely make a return trip next time I'm in KCMO.Highly recommended!“
“Got The Standard breakfast sandwich & the Sausage & egg sandwich for breakfast, took a chipotle turkey wrap to go for lunch. ABSOLUTELY delicious. all of it. 10/10 would recommend and will go out of my way to eat here again. 100% worth the money.“
“We wanted to visit a local coffee shop for breakfast while we were on vacation so we found The Windmill KC and I’m so glad we did! Not only was it adorable with great breakfast and coffee but the atmosphere was incredible. The staff and locals made us feel like family while letting my 2 little girls play games and puzzles with them. I will definitely be recommending and we will definitely be back!“
“Everything here is incredibly delicious. Their cinnamon rolls are a perfect texture and have a great amount of cinnamon and glaze. Their breakfast sandwich (I get it with bacon) is on one of their super soft, perfect rolls. Their biscuits and gravy is amazing. Maybe my favorite place for breakfast right now.“
“Now, this is a natural food restaurant. Gigi puts her considerable culinary talents at the service of people who are already committed to eating healthy. Everything was fresh, high quality, minimally processed and delicious. She got my special order right and her recommendation of lavender mint tea was spot on. If you want a cafe that supports your wellness journey, check it out.“
“This lovely little spot is a hidden gem. The bingsu is delicious and a really good portion to share between two people. The service was quick and the staff are extremely friendly. I've stopped in twice in a span of a week with friends because we couldn't get enough.“
“Heads up this is on the industrial side and it could startle people but I love the location it's safe enough just don't leave your car running or unlocked and you'll be fine. Anyways THESE SANDWICHES ARE AMAZING FOR $9 AND THE FRIES ARE FANTASTIC! you're wasting your life if you don't eat this once a “
“We have wanted to try Ibis Bakery for some time. Once I found out that Black Dog was connected, we went! The coffee was great. I had a honey and lavender latte. We also had an almond Croissant and a Pan au chocolate Croissant. The almond Croissant was the best one I've ever had! We also grabbed a Cheese Slipper loaf for later.“
“Great place to hang out and play some games. Had a pizza waffle and it was ?. My wife had the wacho which was also very good. Played a game that we hadn't heard of and all around had a good time. Options for everybody available which is nice. Was hard to tell when things were actually ready since it's a counter pick up but we got there. Will do it again. There are a few things I would like to try and tons of games I would like to play before buying.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options.“
“I’m so grateful to have a place like Midtown Kava! There are so many ways to treat yourself here - grab a tea/kombucha/soda, visit with friends in the cozy lounge, or get some products for home. I love the kava and hemp extracts for their superior quality and the CBD Shaman sparkling soda is a treat to have on hand at home. It’s an oasis that always brightens my day!“
“We looooove the Inspired Play Cafe! My daughter is only 9 months & she had so much room to crawl around and explore. We bought the membership on the first day & will be making the 45 minute drive to come & play as much as we can each week!“
“Anytime I have people visiting from out of town, and they want to have a nice meal that isn't BBQ I take them here. The food, service and ambiance are always fantastic. Their menu is so different than anything around here and sitting in the dining room feels like sitting in a French restaurant. They have a rotating chef's special, a great deal on their steak frites on Tuesdays, delicious French desserts (home made profiteroles, say WHAT?! yum. And don't even get me started on their mille feuille when that is around... absolutely fabulous). The wine selection is great, they have a non alc option that seemed interesting but I decided to go with their non alc cocktail which was delicious. Cocktail menu is solid, and they even carry my favorite beer, Duvel which is such a European staple and not always easy to find in the city.“
“I called at 3:30pm on a Thursday hoping to order 12 dozen donuts last minute for a work event the following day, everything was ready by 6:30AM Friday morning! Extremely appreciative of the willingness from staff to help me out on such short notice! 5 stars!“
“I am so pleased with The Table's catering platters!I ordered for the first time yesterday and got the cheese and fruit platter, the hummus trio, and the mini cheesecake platter. Ordering was super simple online and the food was ready exactly on time with zero hiccups. They even helped me load it to my car in the freezing cold, and scrounged up a couple of birthday candles for me which I had forgotten to buy for the party! The food itself was delicious. The quantities are huge, so excellent value. And the presentation was Instagram-worthy. Can't wait to come in for brunch, as the shop itself is adorable and full of treasures in the retail racks. This is my new go-to place for party platters. Thank you, The Table crew!“
“The staff here is so incredibly helpful and friendly. Don’t feel overwhelmed by the menu!!! They will help you find your perfect match!!I absolutely love their teas, it’s an addiction at this point, it has replaced my morning coffee, and I have felt so good. Ask them how you can get some products for yourself at home!!“
“Best small(er) venue in Kansas city in years - in content and atmosphere. It's only improving upon itself as well. I love the location as well - utilizing a part of this city that is underserved. Definitely one of the gems of kansas city at the moment.Vegetarian options: there is no food that i am aware of... maybe snacks / dessert / coffeeDietary restrictions: Coffee and booze - I didn't see any food - maybe some food trucks will catch on and park by it.Parking: street parking is easily found as there isn't much going on besides Farewell and Howdy in the neighborhood.Kid-friendliness: You can bring under 21 people as long as they have a parent or "guardian" with them who is of age. The sister venue / art space a few doors down "Howdy" is all-ages all the time. They have water available to all.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs of any sort and easily accessible for handicapped individuals.“
“?Excellent staff, drinks and pastries, they have delicious batch crew coffees.? The owners insist upon having three TVs behind the bar playing the *news* all day long.It conflicts with anything you might like to do in a coffee shop: Study, write, have a conversation with your friends, or just not see ads in front of your face constantly.Kinda sabotages the good work the baristas are doing.“
“They did a nice job redoing this place. Friendly staff. Good menu. Nice decorations. Very amicable atmosphere. Spacious table set up. Have to try the Philly cheesesteak.Went back today. I had the Philly cheesesteak & fries. My companion had the Reubens and fries. The server was quick and friendly. Food was delicious. The number of cars in the parking lot shows how many people are equally as pleased. Try Cafe Reflections out!Loved going again.“
“We have been going here for years, and I did not realize I had not yet written a review to express how fantastic this place is. The food is nearly perfect. I do not think I can go here without getting the roasted feta, served in a cast iron pan topped with red onions, pepitas and amazing spices. It's also almost even better reheated at home. The olives are also the best I've had in Kansas City. My wife grew up where falafel originated, and yet she has stated that Extra Virgin's falafel is the best she has ever had. I've had many other dishes and just about everything is phenomenal. The one thing I would never want again is the chickpea fries. They have been on the menu for years, so I presume some folks like them, but they are not for me. The cocktails are great and they usually have some lesser known classics, such as a Sidecar. A while back they featured a pumpkin cocktail which was my wife's all-time favorite. The bar is fairly large, and I've found you don't always get the greatest service sitting there, but I've only ever had an actually bad experience once, and that was a couple years ago. I've never made my own official list, but I suspect that if I did, Extra Virgin would be in my Top 5 restaurants in the KC metro.“
“What a cute spot with amazing customer service! The lady at the register was so sweet. I told her it was my first time there, so she recommended some choices. I ended up ordering the classic brioche and an iced oat milk matcha latte. Both were delicious! The coffee shop was nice and roomy too with plenty of seating. Highly recommend!“
“So my food was really slaty and it wasn't what me.and the waitress had discussed. I thought I was ordering corned beef hash and it turned out to be hauser potatoes with scrabled eggs, cheese, and some bacon. I did ask that it not come with peppers or onions but still, I was hoping for some corned beef hash.“
“The food is so delicious, the atmosphere is homey, and the people are so nice there. This was my first time trying Jamaican food. I got the oxtails dinner and the brown stewed chicken entree. Everything was seasoned to perfection. Chef's kiss “
“The lavender and bee pollen latte was delicious. Their decaf americano was Laos one of the best, very low acidity. The seating area is weird and limited. Lots of people were hoarding their booths, it could’ve fit 4 people but was taken over by 1 person.“
“The atmosphere is wonderful with a nice breeze, sunshine and shade. My food and drink were delicious. I love the lime vinaigrette dressing on my salad! Everything fresh! My iced coffee with almond milk truly is remarkable. I learned Echo coffee is used. The kind (or grower or maker) of coffee certainly makes a huge difference. Thanks for making a gorgeous weather day even better!“
“Love this location! The food is yummy, coffee is well made and service is friendly and fast. The barista, Abby, took care of us and made us feel at home. Will definitely be back to see her and have another mocha made by her! She was very knowledgeable about coffee and made great suggestions.Highly recommend this little cafe.I do want to add- I really wish they served decaf espresso. I would get a drink in the afternoons if so. I find it odd they don’t offer it!“
“I really enjoyed this restaurant. Their staff was very nice and accommodating to my family and had great portions for the price!Kid-friendliness: I would say they are accommodating to kids but the establishment gives me the feeling of more adult oriented.“
“Great breakfast food. I eat there at least twice a week. Great menu. Traditional bacon, eggs, fried potatoes w/onions and toast is prepared perfectly every time. This may sound werd, but their multi-grain toast is to die for. I understand it is made special for the First Watch franchises. Also, they NEVER let your coffee run out. Good job, First Watch!!!“
“It was probably the best breakfast I ever had. There are so many excellent choices.I had a cheese omelet with hashbrowns and, of course, flapjacks. The flapjacks melt in your mouth.Awesome...Josh is an awesome server.Ask for him.Ron & Joy“
“I want to live here so I can try everything on the menu…. Every amazing bite. We had incredible truffle eggs Benedict, Cuban confit pork Sandwich and zucchini corn fritter. - passionfruit curd tart. Every bite was amazing. Even the side of black beans was special. Best bacon I ever had.“
“Biscuits and gravy were good, but need more sausage in the gravy. Biscuits themselves were great. Eggs cooked nicely with no scorching! Bacon was awesome. Wife had the pancakes stuffed with eggs and bacon … pretty good. Service was excellent. Small place, we had to sit by the door and it was chilly.“
“I would highly recommend checking this place out.A small menu with a good variety of choices.Had the mushroom toast and hibiscus limeade tea. One of the best mushroom dishes I have ever eaten, the tea was flavorful and refreshing.Honey oats desert was fire, bought four to take home.Staff was awesome.“
“Been wanting to come here for years. I worked on Metcalf and drove by every day. I was always on my to, or from work. Now I'm retired and go to breakfast 2-3 times a week. I had the Country Scramble. My friend had the Cowboy Omlete. Both were delicious. Atmosphere was quiet, quaint. Service could not have been any better. The coffee never ran dry. I'll be back again next week. Good job, Sante Fe Cafe!!!“

“Our experience was amazing! The food and service was great. Our waitress Emily was wonderful and knew everything on the menu and even suggested what she thought was the best and she was right! Next time we are in the area we will definitely be back!“
“Went in with my fiancé for help opening an account and was given amazing service from Shay and the rest one the Capitol One staff. We were greeted and given free drinks as well as a private room to talk to customer service with the help of Shay along the way. To further expand on the kindness, Shay followed up with us later, giving us her congratulations for the new job and move. I cannot recommend Capitol One enough!“
“Faith our server was fantastic. She was friendly and efficient and made our dining experience so much more enjoyable. The food was delicious. If you don't want to miss out on a seasonal yummy stop by within the next month for their lemon pound cake French toast....so delicious!“
“It's like a little tropical getaway with island-inspired decor and delightful swing seating! The coffee and pastries were delicious and the staff were very pleasant to talk to. Highly recommend it if you looking for something a little different in the city.“
