There were 11 of us in our party and most of us had never been to C&J before (we live in Hyde Park and typically frequent the Precinct and Ruby’s locations). We loved our first experience at C&J. “We haven't had such a fantastic experience in a restaurant in so long, I forgot what it feels like. We were promptly seated by the hostess, and she was friendly. Our waitress was great and was very polite and attentive. I'll never get tired of having a refill for my drink set down in front of me before I have to ask. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, and we enjoyed the decor. I was glad we were almost finished when they sat a couple at the table next to ours, because it is a little close and you're right in each other's conversation. I got the salmon bruschetta to start, and it was so good. Everything tasted so fresh, and the flavors blend beautifully. My girlfriend got the French onion soup, and that looked amazing. She said it tasted really good. We both ordered the filet mignon, and she wanted hers medium rare, and I wanted mine cooked medium. While both steaks were excellent, neither one was cooked as requested, and both were pretty rare. I'm going to let that slide, since everything else was so good. The smoked Gouda Mac and cheese is so damn good, I want the recipe. It's very creamy and delicious. The Brussels sprouts with bacon were excellent and I could eat a bowl of just that. We will definitely be back, and totally understand all the accolades now. Two thumbs up.“

I ordered for pickup on Sunday around close and the site scheduled it for the next day and I didn’t finish processing that before I got a call from the owner and they asked if I wanted it for tonight or tomorrow and was SO accommodating, so polite and understanding. Everything I tried was super tasty. The line at the counter can get really long and move pretty slow, but otherwise the staff seemed pretty efficient and organized.The restroom I used was not super clean, but it was functional. I don't recall whether they had a changing station, so you may want to call and confirm if that is essential for your visit.“

“This place is so much fun. We stopped here since we saw some igloos on the sidewalk and inquired inside. Unfortunately you need to book those in advance so we just grabbed a spot at the bar. The waitress was very helpful in explaining the menu and getting us our flight of drinks very quickly. We also ordered the loaded potato dip and it was delicious! Had to try the "chili" for chili week and it was a delicious bowl of ice cream with rice crispys. Overall 5/5 stars, when we are back in the Cincinnati area we will stop by.“

The menu planning was so easy because Liz Cook was extremely helpful the entire way. Once here at our home, Mary, Alex and Joel were all fabulous. They did such a good job bartending, cooking, serving and cleaning. You never had to ask them to do anything because they were on it. And the food was fabulous. “This is a small space in a mini strip mall. You seat yourself or go to the counter for carry out. There is seating around the counter. Part of the area where they prepare food is behind the counter. Servers have always been very friendly and work hard to make sure your order is going to be what you want. They still bring a container of pickles to your table when they come to get your drink order. There is usually only one server who also clears tables but it is a small place so it seems to work. Every sandwich comes with a potato pancake which is their signature. Everything we have tried has been great“
