“This place has the BEST tamales I’ve ever had. I live in Mississippi and drive an hour and a half just to get a couple dozen. They can’t be beat. They’re spicy, savory, juicy, omg my mouth is watering just thinking about them. If this location doesn’t have them, the other one will!! Try them!!!!!“
“We arrived on a Thursday night about an hour before close and didn’t have to wait for a table, even though the staff were clearly handling a bustling front of house. Our server was helpful in selecting wine and we absolutely LOVED the roasted carrots and cornmeal brioche with caramelized onion butter. I’m drooling just thinking about these small plates.Oh yea, the pizza was some of the best wood fired pies I’ve had in awhile, both in restaurant and as late night leftovers the next night.Although the food and vibes seemed upscale, the casual attire and kindness of the staff made it feel warm and welcoming.“
“First time in the city a good friend told me try this place out. Food trucks are usually hit or miss. This place was honestly some of the best food I have ever had. Get the Barbarcoa tacos and I promise you won’t be disappointed. I ate at the broadside location.“
“Had an event here on Feb 27th for a group of about 70. The space was decorated wonderfully for Mardi Gras and the staff did everything they could to make the event a success. The food was great and there was plenty of it . We will be back ! Thank you Bamboulas!“
“Booked BABs on a whim as part of a quick getaway to NOLA. Was not disappointed! Creative mocktail and cocktail menu. Wonderful beer and wine list. Appetizers were heavenly and exquisite. Entrees were fresh and delicious, while being new takes on American cuisine. Staff was eager to please while not being snide or fake. Opinions were honest and questions were thoroughly answered. We're very guarded of our New Orleans meals when we visit. I won't hesitate to book Bywater American Bistro on our next trip!“
“I am practically about to lick the plate! We had the Mac n cheese, Rueben, Wagyu burger, egg rolls and pickle plate. I cannot say which was best, as they were all outstanding!!! Not to mention the service which was excellent. A perfect choice for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike!“
“The courtyard is very charming and it had all the makings of a beautiful classy place. The service was quite slow. We didn't get a drink for 35 minutes. The portions were small (though the food was delicious). Lastly, there was a table of wildly drunk bros nearby watching a baseball game on their phone. Just not what I was expecting.Wait, also, the "mixed olives" were 80% kalamata.“
“When I tell you this little spot is it? in Nola? Absolutely delicious, great vibes, great food, great drinks and great atmosphere. You can sit inside or outside.Very colorful, has tv to watch sports and can have a drink.Glad we found this place.#datdog“
“Let me just say that from the moment I walked in, I was feelin the vibes. Very nice atmosphere, great customer service, music was nice, neat and clean establishment to boot! Beignets were delicious! Try if you haven’t tried baby!Parking: I did drive around the loop three times before lucking up on parking right in front the establishment.“
“What a cute spot for brunch! The food and drinks were solid but the decor and atmosphere were all we could talk about afterwards. A fun spot for a girls day, bachelorette, bridal shower, etc. The crab beignet appetizer was DELICIOUS and I enjoyed the mushroom frites. Everyone ended up trying one person's truffle mac and cheese and that was a fan favorite too.“
“I can't even begin to describe how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! My daughter & I have made it our go-to spot. We're usually there twice a week at least. The bahn mi sandwiches are SO GOOD! The owner is the sweetest & kindest man I've ever met. All of the employees are very friendly & very efficient at their jobs. I just can't say enough good things about this establishment & the people who make you feel so welcome.“
“Ok ok ok… my second time here within 3 days! And I am now eating something different, the menu is worth exploring! I don’t feel like I am in belle chasse when I’m eating here. The interior design was done with class and fun! This place is great!Kid-friendliness: I’d definitely bring my daughter. They also have seating accommodations for babies!“
“I’ve fallen in love w| this restaurant/bar!!Perfectly located in the Marigny which isn’t in the hustle and bustle of the city; However, not too far away at all. I love the feel of the place from the first time I walked in. Quaint but cute! Service was superb and everyone so welcoming.I ordered the Chicken Parm— so good and such a big portion which was a plus! Drinks were flawlessly flawless and very tasteful.Again this has truly become one of my favorites!!“
“We stopped in to have a drink and a light bite. Our waitress was also the bartender, she told us to sit where we wish so we chose a table inside but by the patio area. There were two other couples dining there at the time as it was after lunch but before happy hour. After a few minutes she came by with a menu and asked us if we wanted to start with a drink. Since we just got the menu we asked for a few minutes to see what they had before making a decision. She came back 15 minutes later to take our order. We had the swamp balls (including fried gator bites) which were mushy and not particularly flavorful. It is a neat atmosphere, it wasn’t a great day but I imagine sitting on the patio on a nice day would be phenomenal. The price was very reasonable, for two drinks and an appetizer it was less than $25.Parking: Plenty of free parking.Kid-friendliness: Very child friendly, including a game room off the dining area.“
“Long day of fishing out of Sweet Water Marina (Da Crow). Decided to take a recommendation from YouTube personality Outside the Levees and eat Lunch at Dat Kitchen. We walked in and were greeted by Chef Medah with a smile. She gave us a run down of the special and that’s what we got. A seafood stuffed potato with fried catfish fillet topper. Every bite was delicious and the fish was best ever. Made fresh to order. Please give this spot a try when in the area. Here husband and mother-in-law were amazing. Also go before the school crowd let’s out“
“We ate here twice because we enjoyed it so much the first time. The first time, my wife had had the fried fish, sweet potato fries, and Caesar salad. I had a bowl of chicken & andouille sausage gumbo, a cup of seafood gumbo, sweet potato fries, and at the waitress’s recommendation, potato salad for dipping in the gumbo. We enjoyed it so much. We came back later in the week for a second meal. This time, we both had fried fish and sweet potato fries with Caesar salad.I do not know how to rate the gumbo since I have never had it before. Both were good, but I preferred the chicken and andouille sausage gumbo. Our waitress said, dipping potato salad in gumbo was a New Orleans thing, and it was good. Don’t know that I would have tried. It had not been canceled, but it was tasty that way.The Caesar salads were excellent. We really enjoyed the dressing, a Caesar dressing flavor we hadn’t tasted before. Both times, our sweet potato fries were very tasty, but overcooked. But the fried fish? We have never had fried fish that tasted so good. It started with catfish, but it was season so well that we’ve never really had anything like it. Don’t miss the fried fish. It was excellent!Parking: Parking is all around the building.“
“Great food!!! Parked at the truckstop next door and came in for a bite. My wife ordered the special, which was lemon pepper fried fish with pasta and a garlic toast. I ordered the fried fish player. It came with 3 huge tenders and fries. Price is on point with the food. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. I was only going to order to go but the place was extremely clean and just had to sit down and eat. Restrooms were clean to the max with a hit of clean smell. The place was spotless. Food was grilled behind the counter and made fresh. Flavor was on point crispy fish on both plates. Hot and not oily at all. They definitely put attention to everything they do and will be a customer evrytime I'm in the area. Can't wait to try the beans next and a poboy, maybe a burger too while I'm at it. My wife's dish was the past and she said the pasta had shrimp and crayfish too.“
“My husband and I decided to try this based on previous reviews during a quick trip from Pennsylvania..so glad we came here. The food is AWESOME! I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the Shrimp Etouffee. He also had the Chicken and Sausage Gumbo as an appetizer. We shared a side of Red Beans and Rice....all were delicious! And to top it all off for my birthday, I ordered the Tiramisu...it was a huge piece and also delicious. Our server, Mason, was so attentive and polite. Definitely give this place a try...you won't be disappointed.“
“I remember before Katrina when this was the cake place. Now it’s this really cute cafe with colorful decorations and really friendly staff. The brunch we had was delicious: artichoke cakes and spinach and fried oysters - it was soooo good! I miss seeing the cat in the bookstore though - please bring it back!“
“I recently had the pleasure of experiencing a great breakfast here. While I am a pretty basic brekkie kind of girl, the sunny side up eggs were some of the MOST PERFECTLY cooked eggs I have ever had, as were the crispy hash brown and amazing bacon. Friends enjoyed the crawfish grits, the eggs Benedict and absolutely RAVED about the pulled pork waffle (add egg). We even got to pet the cutest pug! Will definitely be back. This neighbor place feels like a hug from maw maw, except the eggs are better ;)“
“The food and the staff here are excellent. I've decided I will make my way through this entire menu. So here I've had the meatloaf special, the veal, the chicken Parmesan, chicken dinner, the softshell crab and the club sandwich. This is a real neighborhood staple where you can get real authentic home style meals. When I visit this restaurant it almost feels like visiting family. The staff is welcoming and the food hits the soul. I highly recommend it.“
“Visiting from Georgia with my husband whom is originally from east N.O and he loves Gumbo! A friend recommended for him to try this place besides his usual spot! Automatically we were impressed with how friendly they are because we pulled up a few minutes after closing! They treated us with the most respect and smile! 2nd, I would give them 10 stars for cleanliness! That made me feel really good because a lot of food places make you really pray over it!Now here's the winner!! The Gumbo!! Since they were treating us like family, we shared the good news of why we were in town, celebrating a birth! They gave my husband an extra container of Gumbo and glad they did! I told them I do not eat Gumbo but I'll taste some when we made it back to where we were staying! I was impressed and now I will say I will eat Gumbo but only from there and my husband really enjoyed his! We are suppose to leave but now will be here for a few more days so my husband said he's going back!!!Of course I highly recommend this place!! Clean!!! Friendly!!! Delicious!!“
“What an oasis! We live in NOLA but have another home in the Parish for work. There are many fantastic restaurants in Chalmette, but Meme's is our favorite. All of the team members there treat us so nicely. We feel so welcomed and genuinely appreciated on our visits. BUT THE FOOD! Everything is delicious! No favorites, just order anything. They have various specials throughout the week. Favorite appetizers: Oysters, shrimp and meatballs. Salads: Wedge. Entrees: EVERYTHING! Specials: Steak night (Thursdays). Tuesdays: Half off appetizers. Desserts: Cheesecake! Have fun!“
“First time at the new location and it was great. There were 6 of us and the orders were taken quickly, the food came out quickly, and the service was on point. We had a fried shrimp platter, 2 shrimp poboys, a roast beef poboy, a hot sausage poboy, lasagna and an order of onion rings. All were spectacular! I usually go to the one in Terrytown but would definitely go to this one again.“
“Had to create an account just to leave a good review on this place. Got the white beans and rice with cornbread and fried chicken and potato salad and the Mac n cheese as a side. I don’t ever remember being this satisfied after leaving a place in my life, I could not stop eating. The waitress/ hostess was awesome. Did not expect this place to be this good. Very clean place as well.“
“This is a hidden gem on the south shore of Lake Ponchatrain . It’s at Lakefront airport in the old terminal building. Brunch was phenomenal. Our service that day was marginal, but we were at the tail end of brunch so I should have given more grace. All were nice.“
“Really enjoyed this weekday lunch. Have driven by so many times, and at times have totally missed it. Casual atmosphere inside with average crowd size and low noise level.Sara was our server. Friendly with a big smile. Made sure our drinks came out quickly & stayed full. Had honest answers when we asked questions. Fried okra appetizer was large, but the breading kept falling off, so we probably ate 1/3 of it and wasted the rest. I ordered the crab patty app for my entree, which had 3 of the largest, handmade patties I've ever seen. They were too much for one person, kind of overwhelming though tasty. The star of the lunch was the Sexy Pig po-boy with hot patty sausage and pepper jack cheese. The menu said grilled ham as well, but there was also pulled pork on it, and that pulled pork by itself had the most amazing smoked flavor I've ever tasted. Ever. It was also the most expensive po-boy we've ever purchased - $19.25, fries extra - but we'd do it again. Took the white chocolate bread pudding to go. Even a week later when I remembered it was in the refrigerator and reheated it, it was SO good.Moral of the story: skip the okra, bring a friend to help with the crab cakes, order the po-boy, and ask for Sara.“
“Small jazz club. I was here on a Tuesday night and there was a constant flow in and out of people. There was a 7 piece band playing lots of funky jazz numbers. Limited spots to sit but as people come and go, you can get a table. Small outdoor patio. Slightly away from the bussle of Bourbon St. Crowd was 30 to 60 years old so mostly people looking for good music and drinks. If you want the 20's party time, head to bourbon st. If you want a laid back atmosphere, head here. There are a few other similar clubs in the area with similar atmosphere.“
“I took my wife to eat here for our anniversary/her birthday. The food was incredible and service was great. I'd definitely recommend The Red Maple, we truly enjoyed it. We normally go into the city which is further away and spend substantially more money but, we decided to try something different this year and we were definitely happy about doing so.Vegetarian options: We didn't eat anything from the vegetarian options but my wife said there were definitely options for vegetarians.Dietary restrictions: Just tell your server about any diet restrictions and they'll be happy to let the kitchen know and are also able to point out options on the menu.“
“Great fried catfish and onion rings. This is why I keep coming back. They also have a fried fish salad that my wife loves. There are several other great items on the menu. We have eaten here with friends and everyone loves the food.“
“Beautiful last night here spent on our vacation to New Orleans. The food was wonderful and they catered to all my numerous allergies so kindly. Our server (Allison) was just absolutely amazing! It was super busy and yet she was incredible, making sure everyone was having a good experience and enjoying their food! Huge thanks!! from Ashley and Oli (UK) ?Dietary restrictions: They catered for dairy allergy and four other allergens,.“
“We recently had our son's rehearsal dinner @ Suis Generis. There aren't enough words to describe our wonderful experience. The staff was amazing and Chef Ernie is incredibly talented! This is the perfect place to host an event!! Try them for dinner, too!“
“NOSTALGIC SMALL TOWN DRIVE UP DAIRY JOINT!! A DYING PAST-TIME . just seems like the owners minor kids doing a chore they're required through a 16×14 sliding glass , making communication hard when HWY-23 traffic is high, so there is no customer relationship. Constant light traffic and no locals seem to chat amongst themselves but food is fine , better than fast food, more options than fast food and a million sno cone flavor .. suppor local mom and pop!!! If you eat SOINC, DQ,BK,MCDONALD'S, WENDY'S DRIVE PAST THEM AND SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE BECAUSE IF YOU CAN EAT THAT STUFF THIS WILL BE ABSOLUTELY DELISH!+“
“We were waiting for a table at Morrow's so came to Artisan for a drink. This is a very small, but clean and cute neighborhood bar. It definitely reminded me of some of the neighborhood bars in Chicago. We didn't try the food but they had some great sounding options. Our bartender, Cheryl, was fabulous and chatted with us for awhile. Multiple tvs around the bar and a bar with many options. Would highly recommend a visit.“
“Nice intimate feeling jazz bar with some bites! I’d say the jazz and vibes were great, food wasn’t stellar (yak mein and pork dish) - I’m from Bay Area so it’s hard to beat Asian food there, it’s more of a fusion- but the performance and servers were wonderful, would come back for music and drinks.“
“The service was great, the employees were kind and helpful. The brisket was really delicious, also the cole slaw and potato salad. Its a new fav place in da parish. Our server was Adriana and she was awesome.Vegetarian options: Cole slaw and potato salad were good. Fries were okay but nothing special. I hope they get their brocoli salad and caesar salad in the future.Kid-friendliness: Our server said Sundays kids eat free for every …. I think she said $12 spent????“
“This has always been such a good place for food, ever since I moved here. I would recommened the chicken sandwhich and burger. Their dessert is really good too, great carrot cake. Service could have been better for the amount of people that were in there, but overall a good experience.“
“Table of 16 came in, all separate checks, one waitress on the floor. Service was understandably slow but far better than service I’ve had elsewhere when it’s nowhere near busy. Very friendly, upbeat, food was hot fresh and delicious. I enjoyed myself.“
“We love this restaurant! I had the crab and corn bisque, and she had the duck gumbo to start, and it was incredible. I then had the best duck, without question, I have ever had and she had the most amazing rizzoto you can imagine. Five stars is not enough to rate this restaurant. Also, if you go near lunchtime, try the oyster BLT, unbelievable!“
“I recommend this restaurant for a party venue only. The bounce music was so loud I couldn’t hear my friend sitting next to me. The food was good and flavorful although the carving station meat was cold. There were multiple bdays there and the photographer was literally taking pics over my friends head as if she was not trying to enjoy her meal. If she had stood up she would have hit her head on the camera.“
“Great place to go if you are craving a burger. Burgers were cooked to order, juicy, and delicious. Vegetables used to dress the burger were nice and fresh. The burger patties weren't too thick or too thin - perfect size.Burgers come with fries, but can be subbed out for a list of items. I subbed my fries for onion rings, which I recommend doing. The fries here aren't great but the onion rings were phenomenal - perfectly crispy and well seasoned.“
“A little place off the beaten path. You have to know it's there or get Google to point you. Hubby had roast beef with gravy and it was enough for 2 sandwiches. I had the shrimp platter. Could barely finish and took the salad home for later.“
“Shoney’s has been my family’s favorite place for a long time. I’ve recently found out this location was open and they did not disappoint. The service and food is excellent! I love going for the breakfast buffet. I highly recommend Shoney’s!“
“Great menu, well diversified with options for any tastebuds! Went back for their daily special, which was a lobster roll with a New Orleans twist, adding crawfish on a baguette, and it was absolutely delicious. Our server Tracy was awesome!“
“Tried for the 1st time today for lunch at work. I got the special which was half a shrimp poboy and a cup of corn and crab soup. Soup was packed with meat. Shrimp were FRESH and not over breaded. I definitely enjoyed all of it. If you haven't tried this place yet, I would recommend for sure. Can't wait to try other things.“
