The food was authentic, fresh, hot and delicious. Our table had the lasagne, spaghetti and meatballs, Mr Ed’s special poboy and the stuffed seafood bell pepper. This was the most amazing food we’ve ever had. The hospitality was unmatched. Absolutely perfect! Come here for a good time, great food and exceptional service. “The very first time I came to Sushi Village was in November of 2013. I was working on a movie in New Orleans. Several of the crew members took me to all you can eat sushi dinner.
The restaurant is located in a strip mall in Metairie, Louisiana. Upon entering we were greeted with a friendly gesture from the sushi chef. Being from Japan I appreciated that.
I've had amazing sushi all over the world. I was expecting decent but rather pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food. The fish tasted fresh and the rice was perfectly done.
I instantly became a huge fan. I'm not that far away in Florida. It's worth the few hours of driving to savor the delicacies. I'm spreading the word to all my friends here. See you soon.”

“While other wedding cake bakeries told me no to the flavors I wanted, multiple flavors on the different layers, and even the design, Jenny said yes and that's easy. After being told no so many times and tasting dry, flavorless cakes, I was at a loss on where to get a wedding cake. A coworker recommend Sweet Life and I contacted Jenny and we set up a tasting for all the flavors I was interested in. We ended up getting 3 different flavors for the different layers because they were so good that I couldn't choose. Jenny also told me the design I picked out was easy for them to do. The cake was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. I was very glad I asked for pieces of the cake to be brought to our suite so we could try some of the delicious wedding cake since the rest of the cake was eaten at the reception.”

“First hands down shortstop is #1 in po-boys i guarantee it beings that it's the longest place I've eaten my po-boys beings my grandparents lived i grew up 4809 Eagle st one block over I remember my mom and Dem sending me there to make groceries before they were a football shot they were a grocery store they did sandwiches in the back are on the side but then they went to all po-boys can't say I blame them best in the city and surrounding area they're good in quality quantity hospitality and service but let me just say this the people in there are sweet and kind is going to be and most respectful give them the utmost please and yes sometimes you'll catch one who may have a slight attitude but just know there's nothing towards you and it's nothing personal 2 minutes later they'll be the sweetest soul there is you got to understand that human too yeah but that's very rare short stop is apart of the city I don't know how my life would have been without them seriously there not just a restaurant they treat you like family especially if you are a regular and always come in there oh and I say this for me and most of everybody I know that goes there this is for the tourist and those who have never really been there you can not have a shortstop poor boy without a barques root beer I guarantee you and da family will pass a good time oh and yes I wanted to add it is a very family orientated and family environment again with all due respect is mind your manners and you will fall In love enjoy chef Mac”

I got the lg rib plate with the add on chicken wings and my husband got the 1/2 chicken and we shared to try it all and man when I say it was amazing it was amazing. The sweet potato casserole was so good. The green beans where just alright but the corn, macaroni and cheese and the baked beans were really and did I say really good. Thanks for not disappointing us we drove two hours to get there and will 100% be back sooner rather than later.”

Then it's very embarrassing to see customers passing the hat to pay for their portion of the meal with cash trying to figure out tax and tip. Everywhere I've been, there is no problem separating checks. I've been to New Orleans and requested separate checks and the waiters seem confused and then it becomes a huge delay. It's sad this restuarant has good food and atmosphere with this type of service and doesn't make it easy for customers to do business with them. They make easy for themselves but not for the customers. Go figure”

“Chef Trevor is the kindest! The sushi is Amazing! I recently visited The restaurant for dinner after a long day of school my grandkids. And work myself. We were told by the hostess that there was an hour wait and that there was barely anywhere to sit so she advises that we could sit at the bar which we did the sushi bar that is. After waiting for some time Chef Trevor noticed that we were not being really engaged. He then asked me if the kids and I would like something to drink so what you said yes the hostess one of the waiters chef Trevor’s prompting, served us drinks as well as kept our cups filled Thank you! we were very grateful for the kindness that was bestowed upon us. The Hostess. After advising of the long wait, didn’t offer a drink of water nothing. Never engaged, never updated nothing. It was busy so I didn’t panic. We just waited. Lively conversation with a krewe of local characters. Staff is great and service is fast. They don't serve food, but there is a gourmet pizza place, Radostas po boys, and Hog Alley bar and grill all within a block, they allow you to bring in food. Number of chefs and cooks hang out there, and from time to time bring in a bunch of local grub for a free to all feed. Great place to catch a Saints game with drink specials during the game and free jello shots when the Saints score.”

“Absolutely a gem. Had no idea about this place, yet they have been a staple at Jazz Fest since 1977! We started with alligator bites but forgot to take a photo. It's 6 to a plate, and they were delicious, kind of like a crab dressing but made with alligator meat. Then we had salads while waiting for our meals. He had soft shell crabs with corn grits, and I had crawfish bisque. Oooo wee, someone's grandma is cooking it up in that kitchen! We had leftovers for the next day. We also tried the bread pudding because how could you not have a 5 star meal without it. It was a blend of a bread pudding mixed with a carrot cake. Scrumptious! We'll be back for sure. The staff was also an A+ super busy but very attentive to everything. Drinks were refilled without a blink. Dirty plates were removed in seconds.”

“New Orleans is nortorius for not separating checks. I find this very inconvenient to the customer especially when you have party larger than two. Then it's very embarrassing to see customers passing the hat to pay for their portion of the meal with cash trying to figure out tax and tip. Everywhere I've been, there is no problem separating checks. I've been to New Orleans and requested separate checks and the waiters seem confused and then it becomes a huge delay. It's sad this restuarant has good food and atmosphere with this type of service and doesn't make it easy for customers to do business with them. They make easy for themselves but not for the customers. Go figure”
