“First of all the place is decent, and welcoming. Service was very good, the only thing i think they could do better is cooking time could be a bit faster, but i do see why it took a bit long. Food is fresh every day, hand made tortillas which is not see often and deffenetly is appreciated. Food had very good presentation, looked apetizing, taste was amazing. The tacos soft or hard were very good. Its good pricing, great tasting and very well worth the visit, woun't break your wallet. Deff recomend and will be coming back on a weekend for the pozole, or the menudo bowls.“

“Taqueria Guerrero has never disappointed since it had it. Small place but definitely provides when I'm craving Mexican cuisine. Laid back environment and I've never seen more than 4 other people in there but they do have plenty of takeout orders. The workers are always friendly and patient and the food is good as well. Only things I don't like are that there is barely any parking and I'm not a huge fan of the salsa.“

“These are the most fabulous tacos I've had in years and their only peer in New Orleans is Casa Borega. Skillet fried soft corn tortillas full of fabulous beef and fillings. I tried three sauces the red arbol the red tomatillo and the guaca salsa. All were delicious but the red arbol is what spicy should be. Enough to make you sit up and take notice but not ruin the rest of your meal. This is way far from my house but I will be back.“

“So glad I finally tried this Mexican spot! My Yelp BFF and I love Mexican food and this place has been on our list for some time now. Very cute vibe and a nice ambiance. Love that they have indoor and outdoor seating, perfect place to hang when the weather is nice. You order your food and drinks at the bar and they will bring it you. I ordered the house margarita, elote (corn), fish taco and a birria taco. The wait was not long and the service was great. The House margarita was just ok, it got the job done though. All of my food was good but the standout was the fish taco. That was the best fish taco I've ever had, and I've had plenty of fish tacos lol. It was made from red fish and seasoned to perfection! I will definitely be back soon. Great location on Tchoupitoulas but there is not a parking lot and very few spots in front the building so be prepared to park on a side street.“

“I was in the area and saw this place. I went and tried it out. I was expecting more from the menu. However, I tried the Pechuga de pollo a la plancha. This food was delicious and plentiful. The presentation was great. They took great care in preparing the food and placing on the plate. The food was served hot. The service was excellent and the staff enjoyed their jobs. The sauce was amazing and I loved how they gave the hot sauce on the side so you can decide how spicy you like it. “I visited El Gato Negro tonight 1/23/24 We had attended my daughter's art showing at the WW2 museum. This is the night that the water pressure dropped in Jefferson Parish. All of our usual places were closed and it was after 8. A friend recommended we give this place a try and I'm really glad we did!! They were SUPER busy earlier because everybody else from Metairie had hopped on over the Parish line like we had. They were more than happy to seat my party of 4 at 8:30 even though they closed at 9. I can't remember our server's name. I do remember practicing my Spanish with her. The food was excellent. I had the Tuesday special of 3 steak tacos. I had mine in the corn shell as opposed to the flour. They were hot and fresh and a flavor explosion. The char of the steak with the fresh cilantro made for a fantastic taco! It was good and good. My wife had these crazy large nachos with chicken and street corn. They put the chips on top so it doesn't end up a soggy mess. The food was on point as was the service. We genuinely appreciated being sat and served so late. I will be back soon. I'm putting them in my rotation. You should too!!“

To be even more dramatic, I actually ascended out of my body. The way that the beef melts in your mouth is insane. I've had so many tacos in my lifetime, and it's upsetting when they're so dry or mediocre. BUT, this right HERE? I had to close my eyes for each bite. I want to actually hug whoever marinates and slow cooks their beef. This place is super authentic and obviously makes their food with love. I've had the barbacoa tacos 3 separate times so far, and it doesn't matter when I get these tacos, it always tastes the exact same and are made to PERFECTION. Their consistency is on 10! It is a small taco stand, but they are so quick when making your food. I'll take this spot over any Taco Tuesday place any day. Also, super affordable! My total was $10.50, and I added cheese.
