“The sandwich was fantastic! In the end that’s what counts. I gave it 4 stars because this is a lunch place in an industrial center… and it took well over 20 minutes to get the most basic sandwich they offer. And the place was only 25% full at the time. It was way too long to wait for a lunch crowd. Tighten that up and they are awesome.“

“Went on a Sunday morning around 11ish. Sat our selves at the bar and got greeted/menus within a couple of minutes by the bartender. For a place that is not that large they do a decent job of utilizing the space to seat customers and also make it not feel super cramped. They have some fun drinks on the menu and the breakfast menus has a lot of options. Once our order was placed the food was brought out within a reasonable amount of time. The only one thing I'd make a suggestion to is please look at the ticket of any requests made by the customer (ordered well done has browns sadly there were not)The value of the meal was satisfactory and the overall experience was good. From the outside this place may not catch your eye but it is worth checking out if you are looking for a spot in Salem,MAParking: Parking lot is in there back if it is full try to find street parking can be tough. In the lot if people park correctly there's enough spaces if not sorry you're out of luck parking there.Wheelchair accessibility: No accessible in the front due to stairs. Unknown if there is a back entrance.“

Notch Brewery & Tap Room - Salem Brewery • $$
283R Derby St, Salem - 2.73 miles

“Notch is everything you could want out of a brewery: excellent beer, delicious small bites, and plenty of space.Their beer is mostly German. I believe I had the afternoon Pils which was tasty and easy drinking. The service is incredibly friendly. At one point one of the gentleman walked past and ask if I wanted another beer when he saw it was empty. I've never had that happen at a brewery before. The food was excellent. I initially got the pretzel and my girlfriend got the pretzel bites. If I could've done it over, I would've just gotten the bites. The dip that it comes with was cheezy and it had bits of butter and I would come all the way back to Salem just for some more of that. We'll absolutely be back.“

FRICKIN delicious, the cookie was baked to perfection, warm and paired nicely with the ice cream. We also got the Carrot Cake, also FRICKIN delicious and baked to perfection. The center was filled with a nice dollop of vanilla frosting and tasted just like a slice of carrot cake. We devoured them and unfortunately didn't snap a photo. “This place has delicious seafood. Here you order your meal at a window inside of the restaurant and then wait in the dining area until you are called to return to the window and pick up your food. There is plenty of seating in the dining room and I found it to be very clean. The order taker at the window seemed pleasant and helpful. You can order a mini meal that comes with one side dish or you can order a larger plate that is served with two side dishes. I opted for the mini meal and I got the fried scallops with french fries as my side dish. The scallops were delicious and the fries were very good as well. If you come here but want something other than seafood they do offer other items such as chicken sandwiches, hamburgers and chicken fingers. If you are a seafood lover though, I would definitely order some seafood here. You won't be disappointed. This is an excellent dining destination and I would certainly like to go back.“

Waffle Fries

“What I love the most about this place is that I was able to enjoy the whole sandwich without pieces of it falling apart. We all know the stages of grief when it comes to eating a fried chicken sandwich, but, they defied it! Thin and crisp cutlets, with a toasty yet moist and buttery brioche - it doesn't even need more. But, they went a step further with options like Nashville hot, sweet heat (strongly recommend) and one with generous slabs of crisp artisanal bacon. But, they didn't overdo it. There was no tsunami of sauce to ruin the bun, there was no hot oil spewing out of the folds of golden breading. This sandwich was made with airtight execution. The size of the sandwich could easily be shared if you had any semblance of self-control, but I wouldn't recommend it. The lot was pleasant to dine at, lots of low key people enjoying tantalizing meal choices. I will be back in a flash;. Don't hesitate to eat here.“

“Enjoyed eating lunch here with friends while visiting. I noticed immediately that the space is smaller, which makes it a pretty tight walk around. Even with a lot of customers the noise level was not to loud. I was disappointed when there was a set of 8 of us and they said we needed to sit at different booths. Eventually we asked if we could move to the side with a booth/table combo so we could all sit together. The waiter was not so happy. The food then was divided by the two tables (not pushed together) and then brought out at very different times. When half of the table had their pizza the other half didn't. Once they had finished then we received ours. The menu was pretty confusing due to the lack of explanation of what they all offer. It does give the description but it doesn't adequately show what they serve as specials or explain it. Turns out after we ordered we found their "march madness" wall that had all the pizzas we could order but would have had no idea what was on each one. The pizza it self was very good. It was not over done and a well rounded pizza. I think it's something I'd eat once but not say it's a "must have" again since IM NOT a huge pizza person.“

I've never had a bad dish here, although the new extra large wings and the ricotta sausage flatbread is always top of mind when we get the menu. They have all our favorite beers behind the bar for a fair price and we love trying out all the cocktails too. More importantly this is where we go to watch a game, celebrate new jobs, party on holidays, and I'll even have my bridal shower here in April. The bartenders are friends to us and this place is like the Central Perk or Cheers of Salem. I go here with my friends, on date nights, and I am even known to go alone for some good food and company. Munchies Ice Cream Shop • $

“I love the ice cream at Munchies, my favorite is the Strawberry Oreo. Lately however, it seems the quality has gone down hill a little. The last 2 times I ordered my beloved flavor it had multiple areas of freezer burn. I have worked at several ice cream stores and anyone in the business knows that if you don't flatten and care for the product, you will ruin it. Please be more attentive to this because I want to keep eating your ice cream. When it's made and maintained correctly it shines above its competitors. When employees stop taking care of the product people notice.“
