“David the chef, helped us out tremendously when making a choice because my friend and I never tried this and we didn’t know what to get. We both got the chicken shawrma and the baklava. The chicken shawarma was cooked to perfection and the dressing was light and delicious the vegetables you can tell was fresh , it was perfection. The baklava was light sweet and fluffy like a puff pastry and had a delicious nut filling. The cleanliness was impeccable I would definitely recommend trying this spot and I will be coming back again.“

The meat was a little chewy so I would have preferred smaller pieces. I got a couscous and salad base with pickles, feta, marinated tomatoes, garlic sauce, and some green sauce. It was really good and even better in warm pita. The ginger lemonade is pretty good but nothing special. The service is mostly non-interactive but they gave me a free refill. The atmosphere is very yellow and there’s a row of mirror wall that wraps around the seating area. This isn’t as good as UIUCs Shawarma Joint, but I still want to come back and try more!“

Fun idea, but it could have been more creatively executed). Matthew and Dinesh provided absolutely stellar service! We almost didn't stop by due to the restaurant being in a hotel and the low-ish rating, but honestly was so beyond impressed by the quality of service and again, the great prices compared to other similar options within this area. Plus, daily happy hour. There are so many great offers here and reasons to come out. We look forward to taking a staycation here with friends this summer to enjoy the roof and pool. “My family and I had a fantastic meal to celebrate the holidays together at Sospeso. I requested a “group dining” experience using the events form on Sospeso’s website. Through this process, I was able to work with Mike (the owner) to organize a wonderful three course meal for my family, with wine and cocktail pairings. It was a tremendous hit. The meal opened with a house-made vermouth and champagne cocktail, and we did spreads (hummus, labneh, baba ghanoush, olives). Then we had half pours of white and red wines with our entrees. The red was my family’s favorite — it was an incredible 2013 Nebbiolo that Mike and the staff had opened ahead of time to let it breathe. The evening concluded with a brandy cocktail and dessert.In sum, the food was delicious, the wine and cocktail pairings were dynamite and thoughtful, and the service was also very attentive. Two people in our party had strict dietary restrictions (gluten free and dairy free), and they were perfectly accommodated. I do agree with what a few others have said about the service taking a while (our seating was at 2:30 and we didn’t finish until 4:30, making us a little late for a 4:45 event we were all going to). The tea was lovely though and the desserts + tea sandwiches were surprisingly filling! Not to mention the complementary mimosas were an added bonus. The price was a little high at $110 per person, but I guess it is the Ritz. We had purposefully picked this tea experience because it was supposed to be a little bit less compared to some other cherry blossom teas in the DMV, but it ended up being about the same.
