“This bake shop is one of my very favorite places and this review is long overdue. Wonderful sandwiches, and the baked goods are to die for. The sandwich menu is pretty consistent and some baked goods are made each day. However most baked goods are made in small batches and vary day to day. There are specials-one of my favorites is the griddled Mac and cheese. Today was a Lord of the Rings celebration with Samwise stew! I also scored a King cake brioche donut and a tiramisu croissant. I am in heaven!“
“Best croissant I've ever tasted, and I spent two weeks in Paris. The focaccia was to die for, and the baguette was over the top. The ethical standards they uphold in both sourcing ingredients and selling are the highest. Even the cocoa, coffee and chai were all delicious. I look forward to sampling the entire menu. “Quality food, good ambience. Our standby for 40 years had been Ikaros a block away, but the owner had to close due to health problems. This was recommended to us as the new best, and it didn’t disappoint. Wine, saganaki and moussaka were all incredible. Wish I had tried the calamari. Only thing that was not incredible was the bread served at table. I’m a bread snob, and while this wasn’t awful, it was merely ok. I would have preferred a thicker, fresher bread and olive oil for dipping, or traditional greek flat bread.“
“Our cake was absolutely amazing! Sarah was great with communication and really easy to work with. We requested a strawberry shortcake with fresh strawberries and a custom icing design, and she did such a wonderful job. I (the bride) was the only vegan at the wedding, and everyone said it was one of the best wedding cakes they've ever had. I highly recommend Sarah if you're looking for something delicious and allergen friendly!“
“What a find! When in Baltimore’s Little Italy be sure to stop in at the Ovenbird Bakery! They are super friendly & helpful and their bread is delicious! I’d recommend the olive sourdough bread. I’ve been toasting mine and eating it with a variety of toppings. Yum!They have sandwiches and other bread choices... Be aware that the deli closes at 3:00 and that discounts on some purchases occur after 2:00. There is also “day old” bread that you can purchase. If it isn’t sold, they donate it. Isn’t that wonderful?! I myself, love to make homemade croutons or bruschetta.Street parking availability depends on the day & time.I’d suggest making a day of your visit to Little Italy.Parking: Free street parking during the day not far from the bakery.“

“This must be a popular place as two different Baltimore friends have brought me here. The first time, we came in the late afternoon and almost everything was out. This time, we got here earlier. I was told to get the quesadillas! Interestingly, they were nothing like quesadillas. They seemed like little circular corn muffins with some cheese. They were very moist and delicious. I never leave a bakery with just one type of item. The cronuts were good. They were a little sweeter than I would like. What stole the show was the cream puff. It's hard to make bad cream puffs. I appreciated that the cream was not too sweet at all.“

“I've bought bread made by the Breadery at other markets, but Friday was the first time I ever made it into the shop. The place is a carb lover's dream. It's one of those spots that invites you to roam and look at the coffee, the olive oil or even a six-pack of local beer. The real star though is the bread of course. Simply put, their sourdough is the best I've ever had. It's a perfectly chewy, slightly salty bread that is perfect for every application. Their cinnamon swirl bread is much loved by the kids at home for its French toast qualities. We had a 10" round almond cake with amaretto raspberry filling and French buttercream icing for our "personal" cutting cake. We also had a half sheet yellow/chocolate cake with cannoli filling and French buttercream icing for our serving cake (cut behind the scenes). We had 75 guests and we had about 20 servings leftover.“

I have been ordering a cheesecake from Sumayyah for the last couple of years because my little sister specifically requests it every time she visits me from out of town. Every other place either attempts to stuff the insides onto puny slices (rarely) or more likely, simply gives you less. In those places, not only are you paying through the nose for GF bread, but you then get less food for the privilege. NOT SO at Atwater's. The cookies are prepared with wonderful flavors and choices. My fiancé loves the cookies with the sprinkles on them shaped as stars or hearts. I love the pine nut cookies . The Chocolate eClair is massive but amazing. I start by cutting it up and take a week to eat it. It is about 12 inches long. “We held a luncheon for family and friends after a special event and could not have been happier with how it went. We called ahead a.few minutes before all 15 of us showed up and the staff didn't skip a beat. They graciously and quickly got us seated by combining tables together. Our waiter Noah was kind, patient and efficient throughout our visit. He even took a group photo for us.
