“Easiest five stars I can give! I found Tacos a la Madre a few years ago - they have the absolute best tacos in the PG area for a fantastic price! Nowadays, I get the nine taco bundle for $34ish bucks. These bundles are great for two or three people to enjoy for a meal and come with different types of salsa (mild or spicy), cut limes, and a quick bag of chips. The food is just so flavorful - my favorite proteins are the carnitas, the steak, and the shrimp. But honestly, they're all perfect. They have quite a few other menu options too - I've wanted to try the quesadillas or the carne asada fries for the longest but can't bring myself to visit and not get a platter of tacos. The service is quick and friendly. The staff gets you in and out of the restaurant fairly quickly and do a nice job of making you feel welcome. The restaurant itself is pretty small but it's usually not too busy inside so you can find a place to sit if you'd like to eat inside. The best seating though is at one of the shaded picnic style tables in front of the restaurant. This front patio on a sunny day is the perfect spot to enjoy some delicious bites. “Came here with my family for tacos were really dry and give me only one lemon for for three tacos. The quesadillas were really good. They really big the drinks are for die for the food the sandwiches are not good, but they’re not that bad either the fries are hard“

“All vegetarian and/or vegan tacos and gluten-free for my wife... I can say that I was skeptical about this place for sure. However, the tacos won me over. The three taco deal is almost too much good food and between my wife and I, we tried all the tacos on the menu. Everyone probably raves about the creamy kale and potato taco, and it was certainly good, but the Moroccan carrot taco was the closest winner for us. I would rank the next three after the carrot as the kale-potato, the garlic greens (lots of collards in this one and very good!), then the mushroom one. Got a coffee, too, and it was pretty good as they brew Vigilante there. Definitely didn't hurt that it was beautiful fall day today, so we ate outside by the river rather than staying in the very small restaurant itself. Price was eleven bucks for three tacos, but I'd've been happy with two. Three would be good if you're hungry, but for a regular meal, two was plenty. Def check this place out.UPDATE APRIL 2024:Tacos are still excellent, though the veganism is no longer mandatory, so there are more options. The carrot one I loved before was not available, but that could just be for today as I'm sure the menu changes seasonally, if not more frequently. This time I had the usual kale/potato, a mushroom taco, and the cabbage taco. The kale potato was the clear winner this time, primarily because the salsa on it is so good. The mushroom was next best and finally the cabbage. I think the cabbage just needed a bit of texture. It was just some green cabbage that was braised, so believe the addition of some crunchy, raw red cabbage would have put it over the top, but to each their own. Still an excellent vegetarian/vegan lunch and with reasonable prices given the locale, so still worth a visit.“

“Good portion! Everything was well seasoned and fresh. I had the steak bowl (grilled peppers, grilled corn, salsa, sour cream, cheese) and a large side of chips and guacamole. Chips were salted and the guacamole was fresh with a hint of citrus. After the bowl, I couldn't finish the chips but it wasn't for lack of trying! lol. 100x better than Chipotle and they give adult portions. Only issue - it arrived ice cold! like it was in the fridge. Quick reheat and it was all good.“

“I almost didn’t want to write this because this truck has become my BEST kept secret lol but I can’t deny them a worthy review. The food is SO DAMN GOOD!!!!!!! Fresh, quality, seasoned ingredients, GENEROUS HEFTY PORTIONS, & literally EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS!!! I’ve gotten their steak taco bowl, chicken taco bowl, carne asada tacos, pupusas, steak quesadillas, burritos, made to order and everything was loaded with meat, fresh veggies, delicious condiments and sides. Even their sour cream is perfect & I don’t even like sour cream that much.I love it here!!!!!!!!! Side note: they are so hardworking and sweet, they’ve even been open during inclement weather, which I have thanked them for profusely. “We loved this place!!! Chose HiFi based on the Yelp reviews and realized when we arrived that this is actually a food hall type venue called The Roost. I'll be reviewing the whole place. The ambiance is incredible, and the way it flows is ingenious. You sit down, scan a QR code with your phone, and are able to order from any of the multiple eateries in the space. Place your order online and then waitstaff brings your order over from any/all of the restaurants. Honestly, I ordered from multiple spots- HiFi, the bar, the sushi spot- and all of our food was absolutely phenomenal. I will be back for sure the next time we're visiting DC!“

“The breakfast here is so good. The food was fresh and the sandwich was huge! We got the Torta de Huevo and Breakfast Sope. There is free coffee everyday so you can grab yourself hot coffee with your breakfast. Didn’t get a chance to try lunch/dinner but I expect it is as delicious as the breakfast was!
