“Long story short: if you want a place that'll tick about all the boxes, this is an absolute gem of a place.Ambiance/decor? On point and splendid.Service? Charming and attentive.Food? Positively exquisite.Wine? My glass(es!) were empty and I'm not usually a wine person! The cheque at the end won't even ding your pocket that much either!Short story long: This place got me married. Let me explain. The (now) wife and I planned a nice little trip to DC to bond and enjoy the cherry blossom blooms. Unfortunately, super early in, the wife got a little too giddy after snagging some sweet sunrise pictures and took a tumble walking into tree roots. While her Instagram followers could now marvel at how the morning light painted the Tidal Basin in a glimmering dance and how the golden glow embraced the pale cherry blossoms in an almost ethereal sheen, her shin and shoulder was now in gauze and bandages (poorly done by my rusty highschool first aid lessons).Luckily the doctor later told us nothing serious, unluckily it became a dark cloud that pervaded everything and devoured any joy for whatever she experienced. This trip, which was important to us so early in our relationship, just hit its iceberg.Thankfully (Leonardo) Le Diplomat was there to save the day! From the moment we walked in we where whisked to our tables by friendly staff. Their menus were very nicely designed and our waiter was very helpful with recommendations. We made our order and savored the ambiance. Before long the food has arrived. First, the dreamy escargot brought back her smile. The steak tartare then brightened her eyes while the veal had her closing them again to savour each drop of the sauce. And my god the pasta was to die for. She went in sourly and left jovial and satisfied, the accident plaguing her mind no more. This carried into the rest of our time in DC and made it great and memorable for us.While I cannot promise it'll do wonders for your relationship as well if you dine here, I can guarantee you won't leave dissatisfied at least.“

“I thought that for the price, the food and service were very good. I appreciated that they were able to accommodate a walk-in for weekend brunch. The hostess was very polite and the servers were very attentive. The restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms which were very nice compared to a lot of restaurants in DC. For a restaurant I had not heard of prior to visiting, I was pleasantly surprised!“

“I can't say enough great things about Lutece. My wife and I shared one of the best dining experiences we've ever had in DC there recently. The food was sublime (duck confit tagliatelle was my personal favorite). The wine service was impeccable. The staff was super chill yet very attentive. And the atmosphere was perfect for the moment. We sat at one of the high top kitchen tables, which I highly recommend. We'll be back for sure.“

“Dear Diary - What an amazing place! The food menu, extremely helpful members, and drinks were absolutely wonderful in making the experience great. Since I have a few food allergies, they were able to accommodate and make substitutions. I definitely recommend going here. I can't wait until their menu rotates to go again!“

“The ambiance of the restaurant is romantic, with flower bouquets and beautiful paintings. For the appetizers that we ordered, the portions were very small but the food was good. The duck confit was sweet, the ravioli sauce was great, the french onion soup was standard, and the crab cake sauce was delicious but very small. Free desert came with small samples of chocolate mouse and raspberry cake.“

“One of the few places in DC that feels authentically French. You can find a lot of classics here that aren't served elsewhere like rabbit and sweetbreads. They have excellent bread and a nice bar. There's also great people watching here. It's one of the places where it feels like locals have been going forever. A little on the pricey side, but a nice treat.“

“I'm not sure why this place wasn't packed on a weekend. Leaving this review in the hopes that it'll start blowing up.It was truly one of my favorite meals I've had in DC recently. Pleasseeee order the asparagus!! I could DRINK the sauce it comes with. We got the poached razor clams and scallop crudo-- both were phenomenal. My friend hates raw fish and even he liked it. The baguette and butter: so good. Their French fries are the most perfectly crispy French fries... ever? The Beef bourguignon wasn't over salted and just so well done. We dipped our fries in the leftover sauce. And the PISTACHIO PROFITEROLES?! We were shook. The whole meal top to bottom was incredible. Definitely coming back here!!“

“Lovely little spot in Georgetown for authentic French baked goods. They use mostly French ingredients to get as close to the “real thing” as I’ve had in DC. Staff is friendly, efficient, and there is a nice patio in the back to enjoy your coffee.“

“Loved the ambiance. Very interesting decor. Wish I had sat near the fireplace. Service was awesome and attentive Food made us all happy but you have to get the bouillabaisse and the duck fat old fashioned were my favorites. Great presentation“

“Absolutely amazing ! It’s a french + asian fusion, I was really impressed. We went during happy hour at the bar ~5 pm and it was PACKED, however, around 6:30 when we left, it was much emptier so that is a better time to go. This place tops DC’s happy hour scene w great prices and great food“

“Everyone there was so warm and the food is reliably good. I normally don't go with my children, but we went for my daughter's 15th birthday and it was so lovely. There was something for everyone: rigatoni bolognese for my daughter, steak for my husband, mussels for me. And of course fries and delicious bread for everyone. I love this restaurant for every occasion.“

“Came here for brunch and it did not disappoint. My mom and I love french food and we had to check out this new place in town. First off the service went the extra mile to help us get a extra seat on a busy Sunday. Their reservationist without a doubt one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had. Definitely made us feel good before even walking in the door. We got some Bloody Marys to start. It was well balanced and we requested it extra spicy and it was. Well balanced and flavorful. My mom got the Quiche it was big and served with a side salad. She said it was very good rich and flavorful. She had to finish it because it was that good. It was well balanced with the mixed green salad adding freshness to the meal. I got the steak sandwich it was really good. Had a ton of flavor and the steak was tender. Coked mid rare which is the way I like it. The cheese was super gooy and rich. Bread was perfectly crispy and airy. It held its form even with all the drippings from the steak. Fries served with it were crispy and well seasoned. Our friend got a classic French omelette which was served with home fries. She said it was good but more plane than she was expecting. The interior is classic french restaurant looks fantastic. Overall a delicious meal cant wait to try the dinner menu another time.“

“Thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! It was a little busy and loud but can be expected on a Saturday night.Something to note if its your first time visiting, the host/hostess is located in front of the bar and not at the entrance, so just walk on in and check in at the bar area.We ordered the Deviled Eggs, Gougeres, Mussels, Duck and Steak. Drinks were Kentucky Rose (with ice) and Como La Flor, however the latter may no longer be served for Spring season. Dessert was the bread pudding, if I had to be picky it would have been nice to have a sauce or more of the caramel drizzle as it was a little dry.Everything was VERY good but maybe the Mussels and Gougeres win for best in show!!! Looking forward to next visit!Kid-friendliness: not really, but I dont have kids“

“Thank you for catering a wonderful birthday party for my mom at her home in Chevy Chase. We had 40 guests. The food and the service were both fantastic. We didn’t have to do a thing (set up, clean up) and the food was delicious. All of our guests were impressed. Definitely 5 stars!“

“Larger than it looks from the outside, this is a down to earth french restaurant. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive. Before you make a decision on your meal, wait to hear what the specials -- we had a few at our table that made last-minute changes! We had a white Rhone wine that was delicious. The servings are tasty and ample. The upstairs Is a little quieter, although while lively, it id not overly noisy in any location“

“What a great meal. Came with my parents and grandfather for my dad's retirement dinner. Parking was so easy, there's a big lot behind the restaurant that still had multiple open spaces!! They start out with bread for the table which was so good, chewy, and warm. My mom and I had to stop eating it or else we would've ruined our meal! We got two of the same appetizers, I'm not sure exactly what it was but I think it was called La Terrine de Gibier, the photo with the slaw and cut bread with a cut of meat on the middle. I typically don't like these types of dishes but this was very very good. For entrees, I got the almond crusted trout and switched the potatoes for rice, it was delicious, however the fish a a tad bit over cooked. I still ate the whole thing though!!! My parents split the filet mignon, pictured on the tray and another on a plate. The meat was done perfectly, my dad gave me a few bites, but he and my mom loved it. My grandpa got the calf's liver, he really enjoyed it and loved the mash potatoes with it. Personally not a fan of animal organs but he loved it, it's one of his faves. For dessert we all got our own, I got the poached pear and it was absolutely ICONIC. BEST dessert I've had at a restaurant in ages!! It was so so good, light but creamy and decadent. My grandpa got the sorbet and loved it, I had a little bite of the raspberry scoop and it was so tart and yummy. My mom got the profiteroles which were yummy but she liked mine dessert more. And my father got the chocolate mousse cake, he absolutely devoured it. The service was great. We had our reservation at 6 and left around 8:30-8:45. He was attentive and kind, and our other servers were awesome. Very attentive to take our finished dishes and made sure our water (mainly my water) was always full. The vibes were nice. It was giving cottage core, warm and welcoming. A lot of seating for many people and they dim the lights around 7ish so for those with iffy eye sight be aware of that! Overall, recommend!“

“My husband and I went to cafe tatti on our date night. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service quite a lot. We had the Coq Au Vin and the Chicken Francaise and ended the meal with a chocolate mousse. The mousse was our favorite part of the meal. I also enjoyed a nice glass of Pinot Noir from their wine list. What stood out to us was definitely the service. Thanks for a great night.“

“Food was great and it was only made better by the atmosphere. Going into it we thought it would be fancier and we’re glad it wasn’t! Our server was very knowledgeable about gluten free options (which there are plenty) and everything we had was delicious. I will say that some of the wine/cocktails seem to be priced pretty high, but honestly everything else was great so who cares.“

“It was a beautiful early springlike day when I dined here so I requested a table outside. The food was delicious - I had the brussel sprouts appetizer and the chicken tagine. Excellent flavors in both. My server was very kind and helpful. I splurged on the crunch bar dessert which was delightful! I will definitely return for another meal.“

“We are semi-regular diners at Matisse. Sunday's supper was superb. My wife had the mushroom fettuccine and I had a similar dish— porcini mushrooms atop cavatelli pasta with truffle oil. Our first course was also excellent. I had the in-house smoked salmon and my wife enjoyed her goats cheese atop roasted gold & red beets. It was uniformly excellent in every respect. One of the reasons we often dine here after Sunday concerts is that the service is always good and one can hear actual conversation without having to shout above the din of music and voices bouncing off hard surfaces. This is a throwback to what fine dining was 20 or 30 years ago— tablecloth, carpet, and professional servers— but with much better quality food than we expected back then.“

“Nice French bistro. Appetizers were excellent and interesting - escargot, crab meat and scallop crepe, and platter of duck mousse, Saucisson, prosciutto, etc. boulliabase and boeuf bourginion were ok. Flan, chocolate mousse, and Nutella crepes were very good. Service was nice but a bit inattentive.“

“My family loves this place. They consistently exceed our expectations and bend over backwards to make sure their customers are happy. We have some picky eaters in our crew and we can all find something. The French onion soup is delicious. The waffle on top was so special. I wouldve liked a few more! The duck roll app is one to try if you're interested in it. You honestly can't go wrong with any of the food here.“

“What an adorable coffee shop/bakery nestled in the Navy Yard! I was immediately taken with all the floral accents and the antique French decor of the space... tea party vibes! I came in to kill some time so I ordered a cappuccino and the curried egg salad tartine. Food and service were great. Surprisingly I found the place to be quiet, peaceful and not very loud. I would love to see a maman open in Tampa!“

“Top tier croissant. I would return to try the sandwiches, and get more croissants. I would have appreciated the offer to toast/warm my croissant since i said i was dining in. They just tossed a cold one on a plate... i had to ask them to warm it. Anyway, quality patisserie, it seems.“

“A couple of colleagues and I got together at Union Market - we decided on La Jamba as the cheese selection was excellent. We ordered two medium boards… one cheese only and the other with cheese and a selection of charcuterie. Plus a couple of bottles of well balanced red wines, tasty Pinot Noir and a light Beaujolais. The cheese selections were some of the best… all served with fresh baguette - a relaxed atmosphere overall. A great place to sit at the bar and enjoy board of charcuterie and cheese! I must visit when at Union Market.I’ll be back for some fresh slices mortadella for sandwiches at home!“

“Maman is very tasty and I love coming here but.. this happened. Needless to say I was a little disappointed I had to fight my food today in a dangerous way. Unfortunately, my turned my sandwich turned into a salad. The salad was mid, I’m sure it would have been better as a sandwich lol. Please don’t do this anymore Maman.“
“So, I’ve been here multiple times and Friday night was the best experience I’ve had there. Now, I did get there early, around 930-10pm, so not a peak time, yet. I wanted to get a table for hookah and fortunately, we got there at the right time. Our waitress was so sweet! No matter how crowded it started to get, she always found a way to check on us. I should have asked her name bc she deserves to be recognized…other waitresses I’ve had there have never been as kind.DJ was great, hookah was great (as usual) and it came out fast. Hookah is about $50 which is typical for this area — still got two for the size of our party.I like this spot because it gets just the right amount of crowded without being overwhelming…I also left at midnight so I can’t speak to anything after that. The Right Spot will always have a early customer in me. Lol“

“First time here and i have a pleasant experience with staff: they are nice, they are professional, giving us full attention and, offering help, making sure none of us left behind. Furthermore, they are young and beautiful.I tried the rose macaron in Paris and it draw me here again for it. I think the macaron is a little bit more sweet than the one in Paris. Maybe they have customized it a little bit to meet American standard. Although, i don't like it much but it is acceptableA great plus for orange juice: we have ordered orange juice and we thought it is the orange powder or the canned one. To our surprise, i have been served with real orange juice, press squeeze from real orange. This is above our expectation, especially we are in the US, we are normally served the "fake" orange juice all over the country. I feel bad that i forgot to tip more to the waiter. Definitely, i will come back another time. Strongly recommend!“
