Ben's Chili Bowl has been around since the last 50's. If a local busy can stay open this long, they're doing something right. I had their Jumbo Beef Chili Dog and Fries. I don't do spicy, and their chili has a kick to it. I found myself sweating even though it was 40 degrees outside. The chili was good, the dog was okay, and the fries were perfect. If I'm ever back in town, I think I'm going to have their Chili & Rice. And of course, I'm not skipping on their fries. There was a line when we arrived, and it goes by so quickly. I understand people saying the burgers are a bit pricey for the size, but to me the delicate nature of the sandwich combined with bold flavors really sealed the deal. I can't remember which one my wife got but we were both in heaven, and even after sharing the shockingly good garden salad, we didn't feel stuffed like we usually do when leaving burger places. Very kid friendly as well as they have a kids' menu,' tables, and neighborhood kids' art on the walls. And when I had the rare opportunity to eat in one as a kid I thought it was the coolest. So I had to wait a little more while eating dumplings. Dumplings were nice and juicy. Hot. The sauce that came with them was good. The rice bowl was Ah-mazing. I added free toppings: onion, green pepper and cilantro. The eggs were the best. I should have paid for extra eggs. The braised pork was so flavorful and juicy. A lot of rice. O recommended it for anyone who's very hungry. It's a smaller restaurant, and not suitable for groups of 5 and more, but it is perfect for solo diners and small groups. Will go back.“
