Tried three appetizers (sheep's milk ricotta with butter, octopus caciattore and the arancini milanese) and we all enjoyed them with a nice bottle of Ruvet Barbera d'Alba which was a perfect pairing to stand up to the richness of our entrees (Bronzini and honey glazed sea bass with a delightful caviar and lobster sauce). “La Tavola has been one of our favorite Italian restaurants for several years. We always considered it somewhat of a secret place, as it didn't get the visibility of some of the more well-known restaurants in Little Italy.  The menu was many of the Classics, but with their Venetian influence, there was a lot of great seafood dishes, such as fish baked in a puff pastry. Everything I had there was excellent when I came to the rest of this time it was different. There was some music playing, which I can describe Best as something Italian contemporary. I got the beef carpaccio as a starter, which is one of my favorites. The beef was fine, but there was very little of the great shredded Parmesan, few capers, and instead of a huge pile of arugula. I also had the mushroom ravioli as my main, it was good, but not special. I overheard conversations and I soon realized that the restaurant had been sold six months earlier. It was not a bad experience, but I have to be honest and say it wasn't the same. I hope the new owners figure it out.“

Chicken dishes at Outback, their sister restaurant, are $15 and here chicken dishes are now outrageous at $22-25 dollars for smaller portions. Spent more for soup and salad at dinner for 5 small shrimp than I would have paid for an excellent filet at Texas Roadhouse with a ton of leftovers. Used to be a favorite place of mine, but with gluten allergies and huge price increases these past 2 years find it difficult to frequent. Above average food for a chain at fine dining prices. I ordered the bacon chicken ranch cheese steak with fries and 6 wings fried xtra crispy. ?!!! You can taste this food was cooked with love. The sub roll was toasted to perfection and the sub was packed with tasty meat. The wings were crispy and seasoned well old bay. One of my favorite parts was that the menu was sealed shut so you had to break it open like a gift. Such a simple but special touch. We were sat quickly and given a run down of the specials. Our server Michelle was wonderful! She was knowledgeable, fun, and attentive. We ordered calamari and grilled octopus to start! Let me tell you the grilled octopus is a must have, buttery, garlic goodness. Next we had the grilled Cesar salad, warm and crisp. For dinner we had steak with crab meat and goodness, a pasta dish with cream (wish I remembered more) and we had the Branzino- light goodness. For dessert we got the chocolate cheesecake and a pistachio cannoli. All and all an amazing time and yummy eats! We will be back.“

When we arrived, it was empty except for the folks stopping by to grab takeout. My friend told me the restaurant stays pretty empty until later in the evening when it's packed.The service was fine. Don't let the metal chairs and plastic table clothes fool you, from what I've been told the food is good here. We adored our pasta. I'm not a red sauce girl and this pasta made me a red sauce girl. The lumps of crab meat were divine and the little tomato bits were bites of heaven. Be sure to order this dish. I'd highly recommend eating at Brendali Italian Ristorante.“

I had reservations for 6 people initially but they were able to accommodate a much larger group. They opened their secondary part of the restaurant for us so it gave us a private feel. We all got drinks and mains. Complimentary bread and butter for the table. The service was fast. The food was delicious. We also got homemade tiramisu for dessert. Keep in mind that they do not split checks, which wasn't a big problem as we all have Venmo or other apps nowadays :)“
