“This place was a very pleasant surprise. I went here for an office lunch and everyone one of us was impressed with the decor and layout. The staff was very friendly the seating and bar areas were well laid out. The food was really! Good. The only issue was the fries, which tasted good and were nice and crispy, had too much salt.“
“When you think of what a homemade pretzel is the picture in your mind is what this place produces. Food is good. Very inviting for a more neighborhood spot with friendly staff and tasty bar snacks. Their pizza looked good and their toppings wicked interesting so next time I’m in Portland I will grab a slice. Would recommend grabbing a pint and their pretzel for a snack to start your afternoon“
“Last few reviews are pretty negative. But, my wife and I had a fantastic time at Batson last night. Had some killer fish tacos and a very good Pecan old fashioned. They were cranking busy but we weren’t in any rush as it was Friday night and we wanted to take our time anyway. So we chilled and enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Batson. Oh and Kayla is a fantastic bartender.“
“Love this place, perfectly adequate pub food and a great atmosphere, and classic beer styles on tap. Totally worth a trip for a pint of classic ale and some comfort food! However you don’t want to run into this one doorman in about his mid 20’s. The guy seems to usually work the front door on busy nights. He is beyond rude and entitled. I hope he loses his job eventually because I love going there but don’t want to be bummed out or frustrated running into him. Acted like ID’ing me wasn’t his job and I was inconveniencing him!? I’m here to spend my money and have a good time, not be barked at or talked down to“
“Just came out and wanted to write a review in the car. We came here back when it first opened and decided to give it another try since it's been several years. I'm glad we did. I had their IPA to go with my Bang Bang Chicken wrap, my wife had the same beer with a Chicken Banh mi sandwich. The food was delicious! For just simple sandwiches they packed a lot of flavor. With a side of fantastic fries to split we left plenty full and happy. I gave the IPA 4 out of 5 stars, there are so many good beers now! Oh and we tried the homemade hot sauce and ended up buying a bottle. So good and the heat keeps coming as you dip your fries into it! South Portland is a nice little village now! It's nice to see this side of town growing into a nice place to visit.“
“Fantastic service Good food and excellent beer!! Great place to catch up. Got there it was slow a few tables had people. By the time we left after catching up with someone we hadn't seen in 21 years it was PACKED and we had NO idea anyone else had entered the building. How nice it was to be able to just hear your party and not the rest of the building!! Also SO clean!! That is a big one!!“

“This is a hard one. A mixed bag. I ordered a special. Bad news: it was truly awful. Good news: waitress quickly replaced it with another dish. So it worked out fine. My companion was happy with his burger and beer. Wait staff there are most typically delightful.“
“My extended family and I came in for an early dinner on a Saturday with 4 young kids who are cousins and were very excited to be together and be out. We were far from the easiest table considering the excited kids and multiple families paying separate. We had Peter as our server and he was terrific. He was extremely patient with the kids and provided excellent service which involved more trips to our table than was reasonable to expect plus a few people changing their minds more than once. He is a great asset to the restaurant and left our family from away with a great memory of our family get together. Thank you Peter!“
“My family and I are big fans of the SeaDog Stacker. One of the best burgers you'll ever eat. We've now been to three locations in the last six months and every time - it's at least 3 SeaDog stackers on the order. Last night the service was outstanding and the burger did not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and go muckle on to one tonight!“
“We found this place randomly. Jeff and Reina were amazingly gracious hosts. Jeff let my friend play drums and music there, of the breweries we went to in Portland this was our best experience in the entire city. They have house made beers on tap and they were great. it was such an enjoyable experience.“
