“There was a twenty minute wait, which was expected. Our server, Laurie, had a full section, but was still really attentive and great at recommending GLB's specialities to me and my brother. Beer selection is great, wing and sandwich selection is huge. I had the PB & J bird sandwhich which was awesome and my brother had the salt and vinegar wings (which are whole drums and flats attached) and enjoyed them. Laurie then brought us a free sample of chili which was to die for!Vegetarian options: There is a whole section of vegetarian options ranging from mushroom burgers, salads, and other veggie sandwiches.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of gluten free drink and food options.Parking: Parking can be found on the street or beside the restaurant. Fills up fast.Kid-friendliness: Lots of space and a patient staff“
“I've loved in Portland for a number of years and has never been to this landmark. Decided it was time so headed over and check it out. On street parking wasn't difficult to find luckily. Walked in and found several seats at the bar. Bartender acknowledged us and let us know he would be with us shortly. Friendly and helpful staff. We were glad center a menu and we chose the crab cakes. Was a little worried about since 75% of cooks cook crab with old bay seasoning which is not my favorite. Pleasantly surprised when they came and were super crispy and hot! No old bay yay!!! Very tasty with my ice cold beer. Decor is interesting to look at and people gathered there were having a good time all around. Definitely will be back to check out more menu items as well as the vibe.“
“Portland"s Oldest Bar!!They've done a great job sprucing the place up. Especially having a kitchen with great pub food. Thanks John!!Courtney serving up drinks and keeping it fun.Stop by on a karaoke night (Wednesday or Saturday) and you can be a rockstar with DJ Donnie playing those tunes you love.Parking: After 6 you don't have to pay to park. App for parking is Passport Parking.“
“An experience like no other. A huge nightclub with the weirdest decorations ever. They have multiple dance floors and typically do a 80s theme night. So much dancing! They do have a cover typically $5 and the bar is cash only so be prepared. The drinks are strong and a little pricey. Overall a great time if you want to dance!“
“Howies is a great neighborhood bar. You feel at home and everyone is nice and welcoming there. There are no cliques or gangs or people that would look you up and down, it's just a great place to hangout for a couple drinks and catch up with friends. The plus side is Salvatore's hoagies has a home there Thursday - Sunday and we try to get a hoagie on a weekly visit! You have to get everything! We haven't had a bad meal or a disappointment!“
“They are very good with the gluten free. I have celiac and have never gotten sick from them. Excellent food and service. Love it! I've been there many times.Dietary restrictions: They have many gluten-free choices. Even some vegan choices also.“
“Cool spot to hang out. With the front door off the street and up some stairs makes getting to Andy's feel like a speakeasy. Food was outstanding. I actually ate here on three separate times. Lobster roll had a generous amount of lobster. The clam Chowder was everything you expect. Wings are very good. The Philly Cheesesteak was great as well. Service was good. On bartender had attitude but she was not putting up anyone's foolishness. One night had a band. Good hang out spot. I go back.“
“Not many bars in Portland stay open past 11, this one does. Besides some of the weirdos that you have to walk past to get in, I like they have someone at the door checking IDs because when my wife went out to smoke the bouncer kept the weirdos “
“Love this place, perfectly adequate pub food and a great atmosphere, and classic beer styles on tap. Totally worth a trip for a pint of classic ale and some comfort food! However you don’t want to run into this one doorman in about his mid 20’s. The guy seems to usually work the front door on busy nights. He is beyond rude and entitled. I hope he loses his job eventually because I love going there but don’t want to be bummed out or frustrated running into him. Acted like ID’ing me wasn’t his job and I was inconveniencing him!? I’m here to spend my money and have a good time, not be barked at or talked down to“
“Outstanding food and friendly service! Quaint comfortable setting with fun atmosphere. Dart boards and multiple tv viewing options. The Mac & Cheese, Cheeseburger Sliders, and Tsunami Nachos were pleasantly appealing to both the eye and the palate. Hot, delicious and belly-filling. Especially enjoyed the background music! Great experience all around!“
“Excellent, chill pub that is very friendly and neighborhood feeling. We walked in and everyone seemed to welcome us in as we sat around the huge bar top. Great drinks, very attentive and fun bartenders, and the food menu is delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality. The King’s Head will be my go to on future business visits to Portland.“
