“I haven't had a full 5 star experience at a place in a while. This is a restaurant but honestly it felt like so much more than a simple place to sit and be served food. John and Susan, the owners, were great to chat with. The space was decorated with a great vibe. The food was absolutely spectacular with unexpected flavors that were delicious. It's not cheap but it's a great value in my opinion. Highly recommend.“
“We have been to the restaurant many times, but this was our first time at the hotel. We did a one night couples get away and could not have been happier. The rooms are lovely, clean, and have wonderful personal touches. The location can not be beat, sound of ocean waves all night. We were able to just walk downstairs and have an amazing meal! We will definitely be back!“
“Oh ALICE,She and her husband own this restaurant and it shows the love.Young is the bartender and they yell your name when you enter. You feel amazing and as you notice, others do too. The person touch happens fast here and the food is fantastic. I have about everything on the menu but we have our go to items now. Join the family and this super clean and inviting place ☺️Vegetarian options: I have loved the tofu dishes and they do what you ask with what you need. I have tamari instead of soy sauce. Very helpful.Parking: The location is hard to find for new people but once you find it, you're in! The parking is easy and lots of it.Wheelchair accessibility: I was in a wheelchair after a stroke and it's one level from entrance to table. There is a ramp to avoid the curb but cars aren't always thoughtful about that.“
“I waa starving and had read good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. Upon entering, the owner? was cleaning and the place was empty. It smelled overwhelming of horrible air freshener, it was cold (temperature) and deathly quiet. I ordered their lunch special and chose Chicken Panang and Crispy Spring Rolls, with a Thai Iced Tea. While waiting, I heard them use the microwave, which was disappointing and then heard them use it over and over for take out orders. That's a deal breaker for me.The food was very good, but the smell and atmosphere was off-putting. It's probably best to use this as a Take Out option only.Vegetarian options: Everything they have can be made vegetarianParking: Tons of free parking, as it's in a strip mall“
“We had a fabulous dinner at Shearwater! The service was fantastic, especially for a party of six. All of the food was delicious, we especially enjoyed the appetizers and the drinks were all tasty. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.“
“A true outside experience amongst the trees and pavillion. Large outside bar area under a pavillion , usually a band, plenty of space for kids to play, many corn hole game set up through out the venue and corn hole and bocci ball tournaments for entertainment. Lobster dinners on sturdy paper plates and various other fried seafood dinners are available. No bugs just lots of outdoor fun !! Try it you will enjoy with kids or not with kids, plenty of space to enjoy.Kid-friendliness: Play area for kids, many corn hole games set up through out venue, supervised fire pit, swings , picnic tables.“
“This is the first restaurant I've visited while being back in the US, and I wasn't disappointed. The fish in the sandwich was twice as big as the bun!Great people, great location, and great food.I think the only thing I would change would be to add some made in hause sauces for the food.Overall great experience.Parking: There is plenty of parking on site.“
“The Tiller stands out as a gem in the dining scene, particularly for its consistently exceptional drinks. The bar at The Tiller is a testament to mixology expertise, with each sip of their carefully crafted cocktails being a delightful journey of flavors. The attention to detail in the drink selection and presentation is commendable, making every visit a unique and enjoyable experience.“
“Not terrible. I had the surf and turf with filet and lobster tail. It was not terrible lobster, but it was a little tough which was surprising given the location and the about $80 that the plate costed. The steak was a little better but could have used more flavor. Over-all not bad, but the plate should have been more at a $45 price point relative to its quality. I would say keep the higher price and improve the plate.“
“The Puddle Dock was pretty much exactly as I expected, considering how much I had looked into it ahead of time. The entire reason for going was for the rarebit my boss had informed me of during a discussion about foods I had grown up with. The food was all incredible and was interesting to see the inside of the building since I had grown up going to Strawberry Bank as a child and getting pickles from a pickle barrel when it was a store. The post and beam structure still looks incredible and the layout of the bar is extremely well done. The atmosphere that is given was extremely laid back. The one thing that took away, for me, was a few of the wait staff that had come by have an arrogance when speaking to you that is a bit off putting. It is clear that it is not all of them but enough to discourage.I had an old fashioned, the rarebit which came with bits of duck, brussel sprouts and a fried egg on top as an appetizer and the Shepard's pie as a meal. The Shepard's pie came out with a crust making it look more like pot pie but added a wonderful texture to it. The flavor was incredible though be warned of how hot that dish is and how long it will need to cool. Definitely worth the visit and experience.“
“We ate at the Front Yard Saturday 3/23/24, our meals and service was excellent. The Octopus we had for an appetizer was tender and so delicious. Our meals were delicious also, I had the Lobster and Shrimp with papperdelli ale vodka and my wife had the seafood baulabaise. Jenni was our waitress and she was awesome.“
“I thought it was a little pricey. We went at a busy time. They really packed them in. I got baked stuff lobster and it was delicious with whole shrimp and scallops in the stuffing. Not much "stuffing".The dining room overlooks the water but we couldn't see it because of the other tables.“
“My husband and I ordered a lobster roll and also got two lobsters (buy one, get one free, so a total of two). The food was incredibly delicious! I believe their lobster roll surpasses any I've had elsewhere, and their lobsters were also exceptionally fresh. If you order lobsters, be prepared for a bit of a wait (approximately 20 minutes), during which you can explore the nearby docks and bridges, which offer beautiful views. You might also consider ordering the lobster roll and lobsters separately, and enjoy the lobster roll while waiting for the lobsters. The only drawback (though not the restaurant's fault, of course) is that you'll need to find outdoor seating, so if it's a busy time, windy, or raining (as it was when we went), it might be a bit challenging for eating (we saw a lady requesting them to pack her items in a sealed box rather than an open paper box, which might be a good idea), so plan accordingly!“
“There are quite a few " smart casual" dining options in Ogunquit and I cannot claim to have tried them all, but , of those I have sampled That Place stands out. It is a small town average floor plan that lends an air of intimacy to a roomy vibe. The service is highly trained and knowledgeable but without being pretentious. As for the menu, it is large enough for choice but simple enough to suggest specificity and care for each dish. Escargots seem to be out of favor these days but here they immediately caught my attention and did not disappoint! Neither did the generous and perfectly cooked pork chop. Utterly delicious! My Hendricks martini arrived with a slice of cucumber as garnish- a stroke of genius- and has since become my sine qua non ( if you can persuade the bar tender to supply the cucumber!) Go on spoil yourself!! You'll thank me afterwards.“
“From the minute you walk into The Franklin you feel the warmth of the space. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly. We ate everything and it was flippin amazing - I took my sister and her husband here and his eyes lit up when he caught site of the selection of oysters! He still talks about The Franklin and makes me take him there every time they are in town.“
“Our food was great as chef perfectly accommodated my request for light garlic in the shrimp scampi. My wife loved her stuffed haddock. These were part of the Sunday special: good sized entree and blueberry pie for $18 which is cheap for just the entree alone. Nice decor and our server Shannon was fantastic. We'll be back!“
“Last time I was home in the area, got a seafood platter takeout for my husband- he thoroughly enjoyed it-I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl. Even though the food is good, I’ll always visit this little chowder house when I’m in the area; it reminds me of beach trips with my gram and all the fun we used to have; this chowder house holds a lot of memories for a lot of people; come for the food and come back with your rose colored glasses, remember good times and loved ones and feel the salt on your skin and the sand in your shoes and just enjoy being in the moment while remembering the past-“
“Great restaurant! First thing I noticed is the happiness of the employees o thing but smiles. Everyone working helped each other and they seemed to be a team who enjoys working with each other because of that our service was impeccable. From drinks to the food everything was delicious. We started with fried calamari cooked perfectly, we had warm rolls served with soft butter ,roasted garlic and olives. We ordered the salmon and monk fish both cooked with so much flavor and the presentation was beautiful. Then for dessert we ordered the banana cake new on the menu I’m not a sweet eater but this was perfect not too sweet…..definitely everyone should visit this restaurant.“
“My husband and I sat at the bar- enjoyed impeccable service as we watched oysters being shucked in front of us. I had Welfleet oysters fresh and delish, and we both enjoyed bowls of perfect NE clam chowder! All of this paired with a Maine Lunch it was the perfect supper in a fun and chic atmosphere!“
“The food was delicious. Despite being shorthanded the night of our visit, this restaurant delivered what they promised. Pizza was five-star, fresh fish prepared perfectly, meat balls and sauce like Mama used to make. A refreshing dining experience in Ogunquit. Honest and attentive service. We will be back to this place. Go and give it a try. Share a bottle of wine and some really good, fresh food.“
“I enjoy this place a lot. Old school. Wish they would open the dining soon. They had a hard winter with the flooding this January. This venue is right on the water. Real cool watching the boats come by. Best salad bar in the area. Pumpkin bread rocks!“
“What a great find! Wonderful selection of classic breakfast choices and darn tasty to boot. Homemade biscuits covered in cream beef, homemade corn beef hash and the waffles! Oh my. I wish the place was closer to my house.I strongly recommend Hebert'“
“We moved to NC several years ago and have never found pizza to compare with the Bratskellar. Perfect crust, high grade cheeses, many optional toppings including Greek sausage. Very active pizza kitchen and ovens surrounded by the bar. Many other items on the menu as well and they are all well prepared and portioned. We've bee customers for 25 years.“
“The food was solidly good, however nothing compelling enough to crave. The staff was very attentive and nice. Unfortunately, it was really loud. I would not go if you want a romantic or high-end feel. There are many better restaurants around the seacoast, but it wasn't bad by any stretch.“
“We came here for an evening and had some drinks with Brittany, had great service and convo, came back for breakfast and had an absolutely AMAZING breakfast with again great service and I dare say one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had! Highly recommend, if I could give this place 10 stars I would!“
“Had an awesome experience at the oar house this weekend. Got to sit at the bar and taste some new creations from the bartender. Was really cool watching the experimentation and getting a first glance at the upcoming drinks. Snagged a couple of photos ??“
“Came here for a quick lunch while visiting Ogunquit as "Beach Fire" was allegedly one of the top rated restaurants in town. It was a bit difficult to find parking on a busy Sunday afternoon, but we found a spot and headed in. The service was average, nothing to write home about. We were seated with five minutes of our arrival and the whole dining experience took close to 45 minutes total, which was standard. I'm not much of a seafood girl, so I opted for the "Rancher" sandwich which came with smoked chicken, bacon bits, melted cheese, mixed greens, tomato, and ranch. The smoked chicken was flavorful, but I would have preferred it to be just a simple slab of grilled chicken with pepper instead, because the smokiness was very overpowering. The homemade ranch, however, was extremely delicious and I yearned for a bottle to take home with me. The mixed greens added color and texture to the sandwich, which was appreciated. I also opted for a side of baked beans, which were delicious and had a bit of BBQ tang to them. Overall, the sandwich was decent but pretty messy, so make sure to have napkins nearby! We also ordered lobster rolls which sold at a market price of $29, which stood close to average for New England this season (I believe the range is $25-35). It was very tasty and fresh, but would have been served better warm instead of cold. The portion was fair, though the side dishes were bigger than the main course (as pictured). The fries were so-so, but the side caesar was one of the best Caesar salads I've ever had in my life. Beach Fire clearly knows how to do their dressings. Overall, I left satisfied and ready to take on Ogunquit!“
“Food was fantastic. Portions, freshness, flavors, presentation. Top notch. Parking huge, place small. Wish they felt confident and moneyed enough to expand or add a floor. Restrooms were sterling for access, decor, hygiene, aesthetics. Hostess was a very welcoming and very organized greeter. Waitress was a super professional and a wizard with recommendations. Cocktails were made by some person who is clearly a master at Jameson Highballs and or Cranberry Margherita works of art. Desserts were big city caliber, and the coffee was the perfect send-off into the night for the theater after a hell of a dinner. I was in a party of 4. All first timers. We all were floored at how great Johnson's is.“
“Had a great time tonight which included amazing cocktails(Spicy Margherita), dinner(Nam Jam Haddock) and dessert(chocolate flourless cake)!!I need to eat gluten free and there were many options. Service was great, they didn’t rush us and we enjoyed a three hour dinner, where we could relax in an open atmosphere.“
“Great place tucked away in town. Has an upstairs patio outside and indoor seating. Food is great and reasonably priced. Also, friendly service. Definitely recommend anything to eat here.Parking: Parking is a little small and off the main road behind the main buildings in town. Not too many spaces, but there is paid street parking as well. Great restaurant overall.“
“We went to Bob's the other day for lunch and was surprised when we went to pay for the our clams and scallops basket 69.75. It was good but it's not worth going for lunch at that price. Last year for the same basket we paid 50.00. a lot of French fries in both baskets and scallops and calms scattered on top. For some reason I cannot add photos.“
“I would like to rate the Rollinsford business. They are amazing they have catered to us for the last 14ish Sundays at 8 pm ish. Bringing 8 to 12 people give or take every week they handled us amazingly. Corbin was our last waiter and crushed it. The crew from NEPFL will be back soon. Thank you you all crushed our Sunday “
“Had pretty decent dinner here when we visited. Make sure you give yourself enough time to beat the crowds of people in the evening. Pretty cool to go up the pool and choose your lobster among the dozens available. They also certainly know how to make a generous portion size.“
“The lobster roll was a triumph of flavors, with succulent chunks of lobster nestled in a perfectly toasted, buttery roll. The combination of sweet and savory elements danced on my taste buds, leaving me longing for more. The shrimp roll was equally delightful, boasting plump, well-seasoned shrimp that provided a delightful contrast in texture. However, the crab roll, while enjoyable, didn’t quite reach the heights of its counterparts, with a flavor that fell slightly short of expectations.but overpriced.“
“This restaurant is absolutely wonderful. The location is extraordinary. The service is perfect and the food is delicious and creative. The bartender John is personable and makes great drinks. The hostess, who sadly I didn’t get her name was very friendly and very accommodating in seating us. The waitress was also just as great. I highly recommend this restaurant. We had a wonderful, memorable, delicious dinner. The view is gorgeous.Wheelchair accessibility: They have a lift on the side of the stairs.“
“The food is fantastic here! It's a nice vibe and location. I'm always greeted with kind and wonderful customer service. The Super Beef on the onion roll is my go to, but I'm a big sucker for the fried oreos too. The owner has done an incredible job transforming this place since they took over!“
““Wow! My recent dining experience was absolutely fantastic! Despite there being an event happening, I was pleasantly surprised that the noise level decreased significantly as we passed by the bar. The food quality was top-notch. The atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing and enjoyable meal. Highly recommend this place!“
“We celebrated a birthday dinner here last week. The food was excellent; Madison (our server) was professional, efficient, thorough, and friendly; the setting was charming and had a great view of the river. We shared the caprese salad which was surprisingly memorable, and we each had a basket of fish and chips. We’d definitely come back here.“
“Had lunch overlooking the ocean. Beautiful scenery and delicious lunch. Had the lobster roll with a side salad. The lobster roll was overflowing with lobster meat and very little mayo. Our server was friendly and polite. Must place to eat when in the area.“
“We drove a very long way to have Maine lobster for my son’s birthday and we’re NOT disappointed. The portions were not huge and it was quite pricey however, our waitress (I think her name was Lacy??) was so sweet! She made sure to make my son’s evening special. She was knowledgeable, diligent and kind. The food was delicious ESPECIALLY the desserts (in my opinion). My son INHALED the lobster and said this has been his favorite birthday so far!Kid-friendliness: Yummy sundae for the birthday boy!!“
“We had a nice relaxed Breakfast here while staying at the hotel off-season. Jazz music in the background, nice waiter, good food. The view in the background makes it extra special. Would eat here again. (The entrance door open was on the south side, the other doors were locked.)“
“We visit the York Beach area one to two times a year and have eaten at The England House many times. The food and service are always excellent. This visit to Maine we visited two times. The steak bomb special and the fish dinner were amazing.“
“This place is a gem. I always wanted an authentic lobster roll from somewhere in New England and I finally got it. It was everything I wanted and more. Scallops and clams were terrific too. Will visit again when I'm back up this way. Thanks yall.“
“A great find! Everyone was very friendly, the food was delicious, and beautiful ocean views from the restaurant windows. Our waitress, Melissa, was super friendly and very attentive. The prices were very reasonable as well. We will definitely be back!“
