“First time, really enjoyed the experience. Mom had little cheeseburger- just the right size, especially after adding toppings! Kid had cheeseburger and inhaled it! Chicken parm for me and toasted ravioli. Yummmm! Corner of remembrance noted and appreciated. Will return next time I'm back to visit mom.“

“If you come to George and Leon’s and leave a bad review then you are just kind of a stupid dink. If you’ve done any research whatsoever then you know what you are about to get. But if you come in with expectations outside of what these guys do and then want to complain about it then you are a meathead. And not in a good meathead way like someone who loves succulent perfectly roasted beef, more like someone who thinks they deserve more than they do. So just chill the hell out, shove some amazing onion rings into your face and leave a five star review or get bent. ❤️?“

Medeo European Food and Deli Modern European • $
529A Main St, Westbrook

“I popped in here to peruse one day while getting my car serviced down the road. I was impressed by the extensive and diverse collection of Eastern European foods in this store. They have many options - deli counter, refrigerated foods, frozen foods, packaged foods, drinks. I enjoyed looking at all of the different languages on the packages. I ended up purchasing a few chocolate bars - they were affordable and the woman behind the register was pleasant! If I ever have any needs for Eastern European foodstuffs, I now know where to find it!!!“

Sim-City Indoor Golf Pubs • $$
100 Larrabee Rd Ste 250, Westbrook

“I hardly ever leave a review of business's but I have been coming to Sim-City over the last 2 months on a weekly basis so I wanted to give my honest opinion. Why I am giving 4 stars - I think the location, and atmosphere is great and there are several minor things that could be improved to make it a true 5 star experience. Otherwise Sim-City is very enjoyablePrice: $40 an hour for sim time I find to be very reasonable, especially because I am usually golfing with 3 other people. So for 2 hours of sim time we each split four ways. $20 for me personally for 2 hours of sim time is very good and I hope they keep the prices at that level in the future. I also found that the food and beer pricing to be similar to what you may pay at a country club restaurant. I think for the market in which Sim-City is located it is a fairly priced experience.Food: I don't eat here often but I have tried the pizza, quesadilla, pretzels and I have to say it does feel like a "hit or a miss" on the food. What I find unique is that you can actually see into the kitchen and I am always impressed with how clean it is. My favorite thing on the menu is the chicken quesadilla. It is always packed with chicken and hot. I love pizza, however, the pizza at Sim-City was not my favorite. No offense to the owners, but it tasted like one of those frozen pizzas you'd buy at the grocery store and heat up. With that said, I wouldn't let my opinion of the pizza stop you from getting it. It was very reasonably priced, but I just wish is was betterStaff: Everyone that I have interacted with is friendly, kind and will lend a hand if needed. I have interacted with Jarred the most, as he will sometimes be running the bar, or the sims. He always takes the time with our group to make sure that our sim is set up how we would like it, and he usually lets us play a little bit past our sim time which I greatly appreciate. One thing I have observed is at times it seems like they could be understaffed. This seems like an issue with most businesses post covid, but even though some nights it seems like Jarred may be responsible for the Bar, the Sims and answering phones he still takes the time to be respectful and nice. With that said, I think the staff could use some extra support most nights to allow staff members a chance to really excel in their role.Atmosphere: It is great for golfers and non-golfers alike. TV's everywhere that are bigger than anything I own so I can watch whatever is on that night while our group golfs. Other golfers in the building are friendly and never get out of hand. I have read some comments about the dim lighting and I agree, it is very dim -and I understand this is for the projector screens to be seen better. If I had a wish, it would be for a brighter projector screen and brighter lights all together. I understand it may not be possible, but it would be nice to see how they could experiment with different technology to make it brighter. Also - the seating is fine. Just fine. High Barstool seating does the trick but I don't find myself getting very comfortable and the table seems to get in the way of truly allowing yourself to be casual. I would imagine a bowling alley type of couch and table setup may be more comfortable and allow for a more relaxed environment. The tables and chair setup they have now is fine, nothing seems to beat up, but in the future it may be nice to see some different types of furniture.Areas of potential improvement: I think that for 2023, Sim-City is one of the better spots around to play sim golf, but if they were to take it to the next level I would like to suggest the following ideas that I notice online at other establishments.1. Rotating hitting surface2. Music in each Bay for a more customized experience3. Food and Beverage ordering interface inside the sim (like a tablet or something)4. Mobile app to book reservations and track your stats.5. I'm sure there will be more innovations within Sim-Golf overtime, and it would be cool to see some of those be integrated as time go“

“It’s 4am and I have one thing to get off of my chest. Frog and Turtle makes the BEST seafood chowder i have ever had the pleasure and honor of indulging in. I think about this chowder when i’m daydreaming in the shower, when i’m in the middle of life altering conversations, at weddings, at funerals, when i’m with my lover, when i’ve just eaten the most delectable treat; the thought plaguing the back of my mind… the one thing i know to be true…. is that no earthly pleasures will ever come close to the peace and satisfaction that this seafood chowder gives me. I’ve tried to make something remotely close so so many times to no avail, so i’ve come to the conclusion that a magical chowder fairy lives in frog and turtles kitchen and sprinkles its magic into this soup and whispers sweet nothings into the chefs ear while they prepare it, therefore there is no way anything could ever replicate that pure magic, and i am okay with that.“

“Where do I start?? I completely enjoyed my experience at Scales from start to finish. They came recommended by two completely different people (a resident and someone who frequents the area) so after the second time hearing the name, it was settled. I had to try it. We had a short wait in the lounge area for the dining room to open and had a drink. The Lavender Haze with the pea flower infused gin was fantastic; Woke my taste buds right up! Our waitress was incredibly helpful and graciously answered all of my 784 questions to help us settle on what to order (everything sounded so amazing, I couldn’t decide). We settled on the grilled octopus for the appetizer and while in Maine, I HAD to get lobster. I have no regrets!! Everything we tried was phenomenal. After seeing other tables order the scallops, I would’ve loved to try them too but had absolutely no room left. I can say this was the best meal I’ve had in a very long time. When in Portland, Maine EAT AT SCALES!!“
