“I love the people, atmosphere, menu, and beer here. Top 3 Greater Portland breweries in my book. Half pours (8oz) make it easy to sample the goods. Afternoons are so chill for meeting friends and the kids, playing a game or two and just kicking back. My 14 year old said "This is the kind of food that makes you want to ignore your brain telling you that your stomach is full so you can keep eating".“
“Been here twice two years apart. A classic Maine / New England tavern for decent seafood and American grub. Loud and busy, as a tavern should be. Food is nothing astonishing but if you are visiting Maine, this is a nice place to experience the tavern environment.“
“This place has amazing options for healthy choices as well as indulgent! Check out their happy hour specials too! I got a $9.00 meal and a $5.00 margarita that was Incredible and satiating. I was nice and full and satisfied. One of the best places in Freeport Maine! Nicest staff that make you feel home ❤️“
“Well me start out with this, I looked at the yelp reviews before going here and I was getting nervous they were like one like for the last three months. Upon trying this place with my wife my sister-in-law and brother-in-law, we were greeted nicely by the hostess and sat down. We had an energetic server, and she was the best suggestion things. I started out with a pork belly appetizer, it was fabulous. My wife got a salad she liked it very much and my sister-in-law and brother-in-law split a baked brie and they loved it. I got a smash burger with french fries it was very good my wife got the salmon and she loved it. My sister-in-law got the steak and my brother-in-law got the Haddock it was plenty of food and it was great. I don't know why they get a bad wrap sorry the buffet is no longer here nobody's doing buffets anymore it's a nice menu it's not overwhelming it's a one page menu with plenty of selections . The drinks were fine I got a bloody Mary which was great my wife got a glass of white wine she liked it my brother-in-law got a sour beer in my sister-in-law got like a Bud Light. I talked to them about their review and they said there was nothing wrong with their food there was nothing wrong with the restaurant it was kind of busy and I like that so the ambience is I don't know open kitchen so you can see everything Chef did a great job The ambience was great. I am very sorry they got a bad wrap on the last four yelp reviews I don't know if it's a disgruntled employee or somebody that's been going there for 38 years and can't deal with change but it was fine and I'd go there again thank you“
“Wow! GRITTY'S in Freeport IS BETTER!!!I was happy since I had not been to Gritty's in a few years. The French fries with the Fish and Chips (not nearly enough provided, but it was okay) were not only gross, but they were soggy, greasy, and tasted like old fryer oil. That was my only disappointment because...My Husband's meal (Lamb Burger, delivered simultaneously) had COMPLETELY different FRIES, and THEY WERE FRESH, not soggy or greasy, and had NO fryer oil taste.I have never understood why people put fries UNDER fish and chips.Parking: They have a private parking lot.“
“I will travel for good food, and my experiences at FLUX Restaurant and Bar easily justify the 3 hour round trip. I’ve done it several times. This team is passionate, consistent, skilled, and has a high focus on detail & customer experience. Elevated food in a comfortable, casual, and unassuming space with great energy. Grab the kitchen bar seats to watch the execution and the food produced. I def recommend. Be sure to book a reservation as they have a following…Lisbon Falls, Maine“
“Fantastic atmosphere, food and service! Not a single complaint. We had farm to board charcuterie, bread & butter, squash soup, fish in paper, the duck and autumn pasta. Everything was spectacular. They did a champagne toast for my birthday.“
“EXCELLENT food with unique flavor combinations—not just another restaurant for sure!! Service takes a while to get going but then it is excellent. Very friendly staff—literally everyone. They all truly believe in the food and are very excited about it, which makes it all even more special. No one needs just another restaurant—-you want something tasty and memorable, and this, kids, is the place. It isn’t cheap, and some of the portions are small, (tapas style)so just be prepared….but it is quality.“
“Ritual is an amazing bakery that I would put up against any in the state and also might have the best cup of coffee in town. The pastries melt in your mouth and there are more hearty options that have egg for a fuller breakfast. The food and friendly/chill vibe could be in a different country, but we are lucky enough to have them right here. In my opinion, definitely a little fresher and more crispy than Solo Pane in Bath.Parking: Easy street parking right in the morning.“
“This hometown deli is fantastic. The people that work here care. They're fun and personable. The food is some of the best deli for I've ever had. Fresh, quality, good ingredients.Everyone can find something to love on their menu. Prices are reasonable.“
“The Gotch chicken sandwich is always amazing. Great to-go boxing!Parking: Street parking adjacent to the location and plentiful with a short walk on main street.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly! Milkshakes for the kids and a retro vibe!Wheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Came in again because I LOVED the duck I had here months ago. Ordered: duck wings: small portion for the price but they were indeed fall of the bone tender, crispy, and smothered in a sweet and savory sauce beef poutine: the cheese curds had melted into puddles but the side ate like a hearty meal, good portion of beef, though fries were just okay double cheeseburger: piled high and juicy but again, just okay Overall I'll still be back supporting the restaurant that has served me some of the best bites of food, but I'll be focused more on their duck or special new items. Check them out on IG for their specials!“
“I love coming to 104! I came in to hang with family and had the best experience. We started out with some amazing Bee Sting wings, followed by some savory steak tips! This place always puts out amazing food portions and high quality eats. Thank you, 104 Team!“
“WE HAD BEEN GOING TO THE MUDDY RUDDER MANY TIMES PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC. FOR MANY REASONS WE HAVE NOT BEEN TO MANY RESTAURANTS SINCE. BUT OUR EXPERIENCE YESTERDAY WAS VERY GOOD. GOOD FOOD, GOOD SERVICE, AND THE PLACE WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.“
“I finally got the chance to revisit after a long anticipated return. Although many things have changed since 2019, the Blueberry Sunrise breakfast is still as good as I remembered ?. They have stayed strong through the times and have perseved with timeless goodness. All the best, may God bless you always ?“
“The crab wagons were homemade and delicious af! The lobster stew was great too! We also had the lobster roll with chips! You can get fries too but chips just gives your the crunch satisfaction you need at the end of a meal! Try the Atlantic Brewing company Bar Harbor Blueberry Ale! It's so good! They have a pretty cool brewery in Bar Harbor too! Our waiter was really nice and gave great recommendations! This was one of our favorite places outside of Portland, Maine! Can't wait to come back!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian options available!Parking: Lots of parking!Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly!Wheelchair accessibility: No steps!“
“Clearly a local eatery well known by working class folks. Half the county's CMP lineman were here having breakfast! Anywhere the locals go is usually a great spot, and this is no exception. Short on ambiance, long on great food and good service. Staff were friendly and the 3 cheese omelet was served up fast and delicious. Orange juice was canned, oh well. Coffee was excellent, and we were on our way in no time flat.“
“Breakfast with eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and bacon. Eggs Benedict was very good, as was the scrambled. The pancakes were dense and a bit dry. The bacon was overcooked and dry/brittle. Service was quick and cheerful. A solid break fast just the same.“
“We dropped in to just get a bite to eat. Actually looking for a different restaurant, we ran across Embark by accident not really expecting much other than not cooking at home. There were few people in the restaurant at 6:30_7:00pm . I spotted a dish on the menu I hadn't seen in years and decided to try the beef short ribs. It was fork tender and absolutely delicious. Served on a bed of pasta with sprigs of garnish it was excellent. The service was very good, friendly and competent. They have a Cuban sandwich that I must try next time. By the time we left the restaurant was filling quickly I'd make a reservation next time.“
“Great Food, Great Service, Fun Environment! A wonderful neighborhood spot with deep roots in the history of Maine's hometown original soft drink, Moxie. The food across the board for our large party, which included: pork tenderloin medallions, steak tips, wings, risotto, chicken fingers, Poutin, and American Chop Suey were all phenomenal! A nice family run restaurant that should definitely be tried if you're in the area.“
“Stopped here on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. We had to wait for a a table for about 15 mins but they took our number and said they would call when the table was ready. They have a few tables and a bar. Our waitress was super sweet and very great! I got the breakfast sandwhich and it was good. My friends got the special for the day and the hash and they also enjoyed it. Great portion sizes for the price. Cute vibe. The only complaint I have is I like my home fries a little crispier! But overall I would come back!“
“Went in for our first visit during the first weekend of the NCAA Basketball Tournament and they were hopping right from noon on. The bar area is a great setup to watch games, staff and bartenders were excellent. We were there for about 8 hours so had a wide array of drinks, bar food, happy hour food, and sandwiches. Everything was good and is definitely the spot to watch games and grab something to eat.“
“I don’t normally do reviews but had to share my experience. Obviously reviews are subjective so I must say, I almost skipped out on this restaurant because of the reviews. I am really happy I didn’t because me and my husband had the most enjoyable experience on Valentine’s Day. The food & drinks were delicious! We had the blue martini, beet salad with salmon, pan fried haddock and shrimp linguine. So 2 cocktails, a pricey appetizer and 2 main courses and the check came up to $100.00 for 2 persons, which is affordable compared to other restaurants. The service was great, server was very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was comfortable. I mean it wasn’t the best decorated restaurant you will find, but that’s why it’s a “tavern”.The ambiance is certainly like a tavern. There is bar on the side of the restaurant if you want pub style or you can opt for sit down dining. I really enjoyed my experience and will definitely be back. By the way the restaurant was quite full, so the negative reviews don’t seem to be sticking.“
“Our family came here for brunch on Easter Sunday, however you would not know it was Easter at the restaurant as it was not once acknowledged throughout our entire visit nor was there a special on the menu for Easter Brunch. We were sat immediately by a friendly hostess but it took a bit for our waitress to come by and this set the stage for the entire meal. We ordered two bloody Mary's that were very good and our daughter ordered the spiked cold brew. It was a little strong for her liking, however we were able to get some cold brew to add and it was much better. When it came to ordering, I am gluten free and was told there is no gluten free toast other than a hb bun therefore my only choice on the menu was the Huevos rancheros. Quite a bit of time went by and the waitress returns to tell me they only have flour tortillas do not an option. In the end I had eggs Benedict on a GF hb bun. This is a restaurant that sells themselves as a farm to table type place, have some gf bread. It's pretty common now. Once we had our food we were never asked if wanted more coffee , had to wave down someone after our meal was finished. In the end our waitress was not going to offer dessert I had to ask what the options were. I really wanted to like this place. The decor with the plants when you walk in is really nice. These are all things they can improve.“
“Binga’s Wingas was excellent! Food was amazing! The service was excellent! The owner was extremely helpful and friendly! The owner gave great recommendations on some beers my husband has never tried before. Family friendly environment even though it has a bar and extremely reasonably priced! Highly recommend! We came from Ohio and Binga’s was worth the stop!“
“This place is very good! I think their prices have gotten a little steep over the past year (25% +/- increase) but the food quality has stayed excellent and their service is very good. I will continue to come here as long as the doors are open!“
“I get take out most often; the service is very efficient and the food is superb. I highly recommend the Pine Hill Farm burger! I have dined in a few times and appreciate the atmosphere. Menu has plenty to choose from plus daily specials and HOMEMADE desserts!!!“
“Best breakfast in Freeport. It gets busy, so recommend getting early. The waiting situation is a bit unique: you walk through the restaurant and then wait in line for a table. The folks work hard to flip tables though, so I think the longest I've waited is 30 minutes or so. The menu is very standard, and very classic. Everything is well executed. I'm partial to the Freeport Favorite, it's a standard breakfast. The sausage gravy and biscuits are also quite good.“
