“These guys are amazing and the cookies are always fresh and warm!! They are prompt and very polite as well. You always feel so welcomed in the store and it's a warming feeling that makes you wanna return. This will always be my go to location!! Rock Row is hands down one of the BEST locations!!“
“Love the food would one hundred percent recommend the service is great and fast and the ambiance fits any kids dream tho please change the games to better games would one hundred and ten percent recommend this place for a quick bite to eat or on a hot day go get some ice cream“
“I tried many ice cream shops in this town but the best scoop goes to this shop with Maine blueberry cobbler. The other flavors I tried were not as good as this single flavor so if you go, just get the cobbler, it's delicious. Across the street there is another fabulous place which has real Italian gelato which actually have decided is higher quality since all of their flavors are superb, but this blueberry cobbler one took my heart as the top contender flavor in Portland.“
“Delicious ice cream and shakes, there's really not much more to say about this cute little ice cream shop. There was a line in front of us when we arrived but service was really quick and we had our ice cream within five minutes. Super cute, would come back!“
“My husband and I went out on a date night out of CT and had the opportunity to try out this gelato shop! Everyone there was very kind and friendly. It's a small shop but you can tell the gelato is fresh and made with the best ingredients! Everytime we go to Portland now we look forward to coming back here!“
“Bring your muscles. You'll need them for the door and the amount of food you'll inevitably get while here.Opened in 2019 closed for COVID and now back on the map!Easy to find parking is quick and seating is spacious. The food was incredible and service was great as expected for a small business in Maine. On my top 5 to eat places in this areaWheelchair accessibility: A little tight getting in also have someone hold the door for you. It's heavy.“
“Recommended: Highly, for oyster enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Overall: An outstanding destination for top-quality oysters and a delightful dining experience. Snapshot: Food: 5/5 Drink: 4/5 Vibe: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Family-Friendly: NA Highlights: Perfect For: Enjoying a wide variety of fresh, high-quality oysters Don't Miss: The rotating selection of oysters, offering fresh and delicious options Bonus Tip: Check out their small but well-curated drink selection, including Austin Street brews All The Details: My love for oysters began at The Shop in Portland, Maine, four years ago, and it has been a benchmark experience since. Now, it's a compulsory stop for my husband and me whenever we're in Portland. The staff is efficient, warm, and knowledgeable, ensuring the line moves quickly and that each visitor feels welcomed and assisted in their oyster selection. The menu constantly rotates, but the freshness and delectable quality of the oysters are consistent. When it comes to value, The Shop is unparalleled. It excels in providing perfectly shucked oysters at an incredible price point all the time (not just certain times like other places). The ambiance adds to the experience - a fresh market counter, charming seating, and a lovely patio. Though their drink selection is limited, they make impeccable choices, often featuring Austin Street brews. Their merchandise is also noteworthy. My husband frequently wears their oyster crewneck, a testament to our fondness for this place. While The Shop might not be a hidden gem, as it's well-known to many, it always feels like a delightful discovery to those new to it. We eagerly anticipate our next visit.“
“I went here last night to the biggest and best blueberry ice cream ever ! This is homemade and loaded with fresh blueberries, ok did I mention fresh and yummy! The service was top notch friendly! Hello they were so friendly and smiles all around. I really recommend trying this place to make yourself happy!“
“This is the cutest cafe ever! Pastels and playful decor don this Deering Center space. I enjoyed a refreshing lychee iced green tea with boba. You'll have to check it out the next time you find yourself on Stevens Avenue.Kid-friendliness: Kids will love the inviting space.“
“Great coffee and service. Love the mission and impact this coffee shop has on live in Rwanda - it's mentioned on their website and that's what drew me to visit. Barista was super helpful giving suggestions about local spots to check out while I visit Portland!“
“Beautiful and busy... just the way it should be!I thought that the line was surprisingly quick in its progression. Usually when I walk into a place and see half a dozen children pointing to a menu above their heads while surrendering to their overwhelming ADD... I turn around and come back later. In this case, I hardly made up my mind before the Coastal Creamery staff worked through each child's order. The smell of fresh baked cookies was hard to walk away from as well.My only knock on this ice cream shop is that for my personal preference the ice cream's texture was a little to "icey" and not enough "creamy". But the flavors were prevalent throughout and I think if you're looking for a good ice cream pitstop while on Commercial Street in Portland, your search needs to begin and end with Coastal Creamery!!“
“We went nuts here buying way too much chocolate and other sweets but they're oh so good! The moment you step into Len Libby Candies, you are greeted by the warm aroma of chocolate and their exceptional and impressive variety of chocolates. The handcrafted chocolates are made with care and attention to detail, resulting in a rich taste that sets them apart. The quality of ingredients is evident, and each piece is a testament to the craftsmanship that has been honed over generations. In addition to chocolates, they offer a diverse range of sweets, including fudge, truffles, caramels, and seasonal treats. I had some kind of caramel-y candy made from a 200 year old recipe that was absolutely addicting. This charming candy store has high-quality chocolates, friendly service, and unique offerings, making it a must-visit destination for sweet enthusiasts. And yes, there’s a cool chocolate moose and bear.“
“I come here for lunch often during the summer months after teaching tennis lessons all morning. The staff is friendly. They know I’ve been running around on that grind and they make me massive and tasty sandwiches.I’m thankful for the people here.“
“Fun and extensive vegan ice cream menu. The ice cream itself could've been better, they have several creative flavors but they all kind of taste the same (I suspect it's the flavor of dates which I'm guessing is used to sweeten some of them, but it just gives all the flavors a similar sharp cloying, slightly salty taste), and the texture isn't very creamy. If you do go I'd recommend just getting the ice cream and not any toppings because the toppings push it into too sweet territory and detract from the flavors.“
“This ice cream is unreal and one of the best I’ve had. I tried the fennel and lemon flavor and it was incredibly complex (fine dining level). The balance between sweet and salty was so point and addicting. I really couldn’t stop eating! I really wish Dear Dairy supplies in Boston, so I can try their other creative flavors.“
“Cute little place! Didn't have any food but the coffee was good, alternative milk is over with the milk and cream which is nice. Only downside was that the tables were SO close to each other that sitting in the corner and trying to get up was impossible to do without someone else having to scooch their seat “
“I ordered a cake for my 70th Birthday. It was not only beautiful but was so good I heard angels sing! Olivia had my cake ready despite having lost power for several days due to a recent storm. She is so creative and her cakes really stand out. Would highly recommend Toots!“
“I have been coming here by whole life. I used to walk here to get my Nana her Dilly Bars. For 45 years when I am in South Portland I always stop here for delicious ice cream. Their quality has never changed and the service is quick from friendly faces. All of my seven kids and seven grandkids will back me up.“
“Lib’s is a longtime favorite and it’s easy to see why! There are hard and soft serve ice cream options, and also special treats. I’d recommend getting an Arctic Blast. They do prefer you pay in cash, but card or Venmo is also accepted. I’d check at the counter.“
“A lovely vibrant farm just 10 minutes from the maine mall. Cozy with delicious sandwiches, Mac n cheese, ice cream, and other goodies at very reasonable prices. The farm includes an assortment of animals including cows, sheep, emus, deer, chickens, deer, llama, pigs, and more! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about animal husbandry as well. An absolute gem and a must stop on your way through greater portland.“
