“I haven't had a full 5 star experience at a place in a while. This is a restaurant but honestly it felt like so much more than a simple place to sit and be served food. John and Susan, the owners, were great to chat with. The space was decorated with a great vibe. The food was absolutely spectacular with unexpected flavors that were delicious. It's not cheap but it's a great value in my opinion. Highly recommend.“
“Listen, I'm a corned beef Hash in a can type of girl. Many times I've had "home-made" CBH in a restaurant and been disappointed. I made the decision to try the home-made CBH at Rick's... and it was magical. The corned beef was just the right toughness and the potatoes and peppers were cooked perfectly. The staff here were so happy and upbeat even on a cold Maine day in March. Thank you all for a great experience, I will definitely be back!“
“Hands down the best restaurant in the Ogunquit, York Cape Neddick, York area. I have had the Seafood Scampi and the Chicken Piccata. Both were completely delicious. Reasonable proces. The side salad is unbelievable. Homemade pasta. The chef is truly a chef. Huge portions. Highly recommend“
“This was a fantastic surprise. I happened to be in the area, and found this restaurant on Yelp. Glad I did!My dinner guest and I loved the place before we were seated. Great decor, terrific lighting, and the kind of casual and relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. Our server, Niki, was super-friendly and helpful throughout our meal.We ordered several sides and split a burger. First out were the meatballs. Three giant meatballs covered in delicious sauce, cheese, and pesto. Tender, savory, perfect. Next up was whipped feta with honey and dates. Pita triangles were used to scoop up the feta, and the combination was amazing. Like savory Greek yogurt, but better! The fried Louisiana fried shrimp were fantastic, served with a mango chili dip. The truffle fries were hot and crispy, perfectly seasoned (generously) with intense truffle flavor, and served with a fabulous garlic aioli.We chose to split the pastrami burger, which was incredible - familiar flavors all pulled together into one delicious burger.I have a feeling this is a gem for locals around York. If I lived here, this would be a regular go-to place for me. When the check came, I thought they made a mistake; for the quantity and quality of the food, this was an absolute bargain.Truly one of the best meals I've had in a long time, and you can't beat the ambiance and service!If you're near York, Maine, do yourself a favor and stop in. “Nice dining experience! My cousin and his girl took David and I out to eat here while visiting us at the beach. We enjoyed the food and experience. David had a burger, my cousin had a haddock sandwich, his girlfriend had lobster Mac and cheese while I enjoyed a flatbread pizza. The food is definitely on par for a beach establishment catering to a huge crowd. I liked the rustic tavern atmosphere and the prices are what you’d expect for York. Definitely check it out when at Short Sands.“
