I recently had a delightful experience at Loa Pot, tucked away in Madison Heights, Michigan. Food: The quality of the food was commendable, though some dishes were just average. Nevertheless, I appreciated the extensive selection and the freshness of each ingredient. The menu itself was a bit overwhelming at first, but our server was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the choices.

Speaking of service, it was outstanding! Our server exhibited remarkable patience, ensuring we felt comfortable while selecting our meals. The water glasses never went empty, and the staff was very accommodating throughout our visit.

The atmosphere of Loa Pot truly captivated me. The walls were adorned with vibrant decor, adding to the restaurant’s charm, and the entire space was impeccably clean. It was a refreshing blend of beauty and cultural elements.

Ordered the crispy pork and roasted duck. I would imagine that eating while everything’s hot would be so much better, but the pork was a little dry with skins that weren’t crispy; however, the duck even when cold was delicious. Usually the ducks I’ve had in Chinese BBQ can be very salty, but this one was a good balance of sweet savory combination. It was tender and fatty, and the skin has a good flavor to it too. Definitely would recommend the roasted duck.”

“I just had the most delicious supper there, and the service was top notch, too. I started with a limoncello/prosecco cocktail with crab cakes for an appetizer. My entree was the surf & turf (encrusted salmon filet atop a fresh, tender kale leaf with lamb chops), and my friend had the veal marsala, which was paired with a nice Pinot Noir. Both plates were perfectly prepared, and the side of fresh veggies were light and el dente. The complimentary brownie for my friend's birthday was moist, and Raz (the waiter) made our evening memorable. We also enjoyed the ambiance and decor. Can't wait to dine there again! P.S. It was all very reasonably priced, too!”

“The pizza is the best! The round pizza is more of a New York style that has a crust that has a nice chew and those yummy cheesy bubbles that occur from baking. Service is always a plus. A hardworking and friendly staff. The atmosphere is that of your quaint neighborhood sports bar that's always been around. It's cramped but not uncomfortable. Cozy if anything.”

Then we stopped at The Coach Grill on the way home and I had the absolute best corned Beef Sandwich I have ever had anywhere! The Burgers were prime meat and delicious! Best ever! Will not miss this Burger and a Beer Resteraunt next trip to Madison Hts!!!!”

“Ordered Bun Bo Hue minus pork. It’s pretty good. Overall, a small hole in the wall type of restaurant, but very clean inside. The service was quick and friendly. Owner can come across abrupt but he’s not mean or rude in anyway, just doesn’t “smile”, maybe that’s just his persona. I asked for extra lime and they didn’t charge me, unlike some other places that nickel and dime for extra condiments or garnishes.
Just take note its likely that your clothes will smell like Vietnamese cooking when you leave the restaurant - due to the kitchen being so nearby and not closed off.
Will return when I feel like eating pho.”

“Some of the best Thai food I've had in awhile. I got the Gang Kew Warn and it was a large portion for a great price. Absolutely perfect flavoring. My husband got the Pad Se Ew and it was equally delicious, a slightly smaller portion of noodles but the prices here are amazing. Definitely will be back.”

I was determined to sample something else on their menu tonight and while the hubs was figuring out what he wanted, I started to read the reviews and was a bit shocked with a few of them. I too, have a lot of restaurant work in my background and so I paid extra attention tonight. I'm happy to report that my take out experience this evening has been stellar! My call in was handled well and without issue and was ready when I went to pick it up. I only live 5 min away (if that) and the food was really warm, well packaged and delicious. Portions are generous as far as I'm concerned-these Corktown Fries are enough for two and the they don't skimp on the portions of crisp either. I am really glad I've finally been able to get to this place and I'm sure they're on my 'go-to' list from now on.”

“My husband and I are from Missouri. We have tried plenty of boba places all over the U.S. when traveling. This is the best boba/general tea we have had anywhere. I ordered the Mango Sago, and my husband got Brown Sugar milk tea. The drinks are well balanced, toppings are generous, and the cashier was very friendly and upgraded our drinks due to being out of jumbo boba. We will be back before we leave! :)”

“I have been looking for an actual "good" Chinese take out. As most Chinese in the Royal oak, Ferndale, Oak park area are bellow average bland Chinese. I got word that Madison heights has some great Chinese spots so I gave Chao Zhou a chance and I was immediately hooked. You can taste the quality in this food.

Chao Zhou sticks out from the rest and is something I can definitely recommend people try. Probably the best General Tao's chicken I've had in a long time. The Singapore noodles was another stand out option that I also loved.

The soup was on the lower end of hot and sour soups I've had. If I return to this place, I wouldn't order it again. The General Tso's, however, was excellent. It wasn't groundbreaking, or especially unique, but it was delicious. The quantity bolstered the enjoyment- one could easily get two meals out of it as I did. I rarely order fried rice, but this place served excellent fried rice.

The service was excellent. It was quick, efficient, and pleasant. The lady who took my order was very nice, and I had my food within 15 minutes.

The atmosphere wasn't anything to write home about, it was a hole-in-the wall carry out restaurant, but it did its job.”

“My 45 th birthday party, we had six people and only 5 got food, we explained very well before ordering to the waitress that my husband was allergic to onions and we made sure the burritos had no onions per the waitress, so he got the beef burrito and his food came with ours and the waitress held out his plate stating that all dishes had onions in the recipes which is not true, we ate here before with no issue.To not argue and cause a scene he didn't eat and we went to get him food after. We had to call for service.with hands in the air for coffee, more chips, more water. There was only one waitress, but there were only 3 tables with customers. The food was good, but this place is so understaffed and the staff doesn't understand English well enough to accommodate special requests. I wouldn't come again unless I called for carry out an hour prior and make sure there are no special accomodations to your order. Mr. Miguel's on 11 and Ryan will be our always favorite place to go after this episode tonight.”
