“It's one of our faves! Best calamari around. Every time we come here, we end up ordering 2 of the calamari apps (just for 2 people), lol. My go-to is always the Seared Ahi Tuna (light seasoning). Hubby almost always gets the Brisket Dinner when it's available. The brisket is braised in Vernors VERNORS!! Being from MI, we know all the benefits that Vernors offers. The food is delicious, ice-cold beers and the friendliest staff.“
“Are used to live around the corner and I would eat here all the time I moved about 40 minutes away and I completely forgot about this hidden gem. I ordered the lasagna, the amazing deep fried cheesecake and the award-winning bread. I completely forgot how amazing this place is my food is five stars. Best dinner I’ve had in a while. I’m glad I remembered this fine restaurant I will be definitely making a weekly trip out of this. I wish I could give it more than five stars I would. Thanks for the amazing dinner tonight. “I ordered the fried mushrooms and the #1 which was 2 pieces of dish and 10 shrimp with fries and a drink. I ordered the Catfish with mine. The fried mushrooms were really good. A lot came in the container. The shrimp tasted beer battered but they were pretty good and the catfish was friend perfectly. I wish it was a little more lemon pepper seasoning on it and just a little more seasoning with the batter period but overall the food was hot and fresh. The service was quick and efficient. On the inside is a few places to sit with a little outdoor patio if I'm not mistaken. 10/10 would recommend and try a different fish P.s prices are VERY reasonable for EVERYTHING, even the seafood.“
“This place used to be Mike's chicken. I haven't been there in a couple of years. 2 weeks ago, I decided to stop by this restaurant, which I thought it was Mike's chicken. I was looking at the menu and realized it had a whole new name called Hooks chicken. So as the new owner was speaking to me. I decided to continue with my order. I'm not going to lie! That fired chicken , shrimp, and onion rings were the bomb. I already had been back for a second time.“
“I went there with my corvette club. So we had a large group. We all had something different and everyone really enjoyed their meals! Not only was the food off the charts, but our waitress did a superb job at handling our large group. This place will be on our list of favorite places to eat!“
“I got too much lol. Shared the Salt Life Sampler, everything was good but I wish the Rockefeller oysters had a little butter on top. Tried the Baja fish tacos 7/10 the dynamite shrimp tacos 9/10. Had the smoked salmon blt for my entree 8.5/10 and had a bite of the white cheddar burger but not enough to rate it. It was good. Those fries!!! I’ll be dreaming about those fries. The mango margarita was a little weak, but the love potion was so good; it was giving 2 or more and someone could produce a love child! Overall 9/10, I just wish the tables were bigger. “First time back after 15yrs. The atmosphere is the same great old school dive bar. The burgers, fish and chips and beer are the center of attraction as it should be. The joint is small therefore the service is good. The fish and chips was excellent, but a favorite one for me. The prices are reasonable for today's cost.Will be back again , for my down to earth old school fix !!!“
“Was looking for good fish in our area, we have a place that we LOVE deep east but didn't feel like driving far. I had cajun catfish which was good but greasy, we had large shrimp that were good but greasy, my husband had orange roughy he said it was good but they didn't give him enough (LOL).The chicken wings were not good to us. I actually don't really care for wings from fresh fish type of restaurants. Example: neighborhood grocery stores have the chicken that they pack in the back and sell and they have chicken from other private companies that they sell like Tyson, etc. For me, the chicken packed in the back at the grocery stores have a funny smell and taste, this is how I felt about the chicken we ordered. Didn't like it at all. Some of the pieces had dark spots, smelled funny and just didn't look good. Overall if we're in the mood again and don't feel like taking the drive deep east we'll order from here again because of convenience, but definitely not the chicken.“
“Pretty cool place! Buy fish raw and cook yourself or choose from menu items and walk out with something ready to eat. Everything is pretty affordable too! I got combo #3 and chose the perch and substituted the hush puppies for the fries. The hush puppies were delicious! Perch was very tasty as well. The workers are also super nice and accommodating! Can't wait to come back to try it items. Really have my eye on a steamed lobster tail. Combo Meals“

“We got a 15 piece wing dings and a 5 piece of legs and thighs. The picture is the wing dings. The seasoning was pretty good but I was expecting it to be a sauce on it since it was a little dry without some buffalo sauce. Overall it’s a little expensive but tasted good and the workers were very nice. Bathroom mirror definitely should be cleaned.“
