“Even though I put 5 ? for service - which I feel the waitress deserved - the restaurant needs to hire more than 1 waitress for such a large room - she was over tasked - even a buser to clear and set tables. I offered to wipe and clear ours - was told -"no need to wait." Could understand, but not also.“
“Good people nice atmosphere and the best part you are helping our veterans. I am a veteran but because they had the dates I couldn't join. But my dad Wes a veteran so I joined as a son of a veteran because he was a prisoner of war in Germany for around 17 month's and never talked about it and most of them didn't. 5 years after I got out is ask me if I thought I could handle some nasty stories I said what is it I want someone to keep the what the Germans did to us. I don't know but I will listen took 2 days. He told not to tell the girls. I will tell the pastor enough so they understood why I drank. It has taking me a long time to decide to tell.my nephews some pretty nasty stuff but I finally decided to like did ask the I think can handle some really nasty stories about his gramps. And if he says yes. It will up to him to tell the boys. He wanted to keep it alive so I decided I will tell every thing. But nothing to the girls. Then it up to him who he thinks can handle it dad wanted people to know so I have start asking my nephew you wants the job. And if the bayport legion would like me to talk about it I will give enough information so they understand how bad it was. Thank you Ed Noreen was my dad. Of course everyone in bayport had nick name so I got Ed. If the legion wants send flyer out I wood.like people to make donation to.legion and as many people or day's they want to but I would 90 percent to go to disabled veteran group that will help the vetrans. I got poisoned and some other things buy they said I don't qualify for it. So basically forgot about it. A friend told me to go to vfw advocate the really helped I'm so I did. And one evaluation. And said with the pac act they said that is a automatic approved. And they to wait for them to finish paper work to get done it sounds promising but I will not count on it tell I see it. So up to people and the legion. Took 2 days to tell it all probably cus I had take breaks be cause the nasty stuff I couldn't stop crying. But I am glad he told and I wood love keep it alive now its up to the legion to set the prices for tickets so let's how many people appreciate what they did for us. Donation over tick price are welcome. I will talk to legion and see I if interested and I will do it as many times as the can sell tickets for.Thank you very much. If they once they they make tickets it's up to them to in the summer and mabey do it outside. I will talk to them to see if they are interested. Thank you and Merry Christmas.John (ED)NOREEN“

“The duck wontons are all that… not so bacony, but almost like creamed corn on the inside. Waiter was nice as well. Kept putting water on the table, though, so I kept drinking it because he expected me to. The people next to us looked at me weird after the fifth, but they kept coming so ??. Mac and cheese was bomb, fries were good, a little oniony which I loved. The drinks are big. Old fashioned comes with a waffle and candied bacon and in a smoky jar! $70 for 2 people is eek though. Especially when we split our main dish…“

“This restaurant is top notch! From the minute you walk in to the minute you leave you'll experience first class service, friendly smiles, and impeccable food. Apps included Reuben truffles and pot stickers. Both were ok. I had the braised beef with vegetable of the day, linguine and added a scallop. Beef was fork tender and scallop was to die for! Vegetable of the day was your average mixed veg and linguine was so-so; butter cheese sauce was broken and sort of gritty. Another party member had jumbo shrimp with red potatoes and upgraded to grilled asparagus. They were the biggest jumbo shrimp I've ever seen. Dish was given rave reviews. Last guest had the special of the night: blackened halibut with mixed veg and linguine. Halibut was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Dessert included their signature torte and white cake layered with strawberries and cream. Torte was fabulous. Unfortunately the cake was less than sub-par. Overall, this place is a hidden gem in downtown Lake Elmo. Highly recommend. Atmosphere is elegant and classy.“

“Excellent service and friendly staff - the children's menu was broad in scope and they were in truth- family friendly. Adult meals were excellent as well with a wide selection of food and drinks, and reasonable pricing. The divided spaces made it very quiet throughout for the non-family adults and gave it a nice pub 'feel' for all.“

“The spicy meatball is my favorite thing on the menu. My husband loves the calamari. We enjoy the minute chicken and the tots as well. The staff are always so friendly and professional. For a special treat, get a blue cheese stuffed olive martini. And when it comes to dessert, you better save room cause they're huge.“

“We parked at one end of Hudson and walked the main strip looking for a new place to eat. We stumbled on Black Rooster ?, and it called to us. There's a steep flight of stairs leading you into the cool cave like atmosphere of the place. We had wine ? and smoked old fashioneds (yum) to start. We had the pan-roasted chicken breast ? and seared sea scallops, which were both amazing. The menu rotates, so who knows what we'll get next time (and there will be a next time).Parking: There are pay parking lots all along the main strip (pay only during specific hours).“

“I had a Chocolate Malt from Leo's today. I think it was the best chocolate malt I have ever had, and I have had a lot of them. I honestly don't know what was different about it, but it was amazing. I can't wait to go back and have another one. I wish they had a really big one.“

“Went for breakfast on March 9th, the atmosphere was great, and the food was AMAZING and tasted so, so good. Overall, we were so happy and satisfied with the more than happy to give this place high reviews. The only negative side to this story was that the waitress who served us did not seem happy that we chose to eat there. She barely greeted us and even asked about the specials. She simply pointed to the whiteboard and told us they were listed on the board and then walked away. When taking out order, she seemed to have an attitude and acted like she did not want to be there. Not one did she come by to check if we needed a refill of coffee or how the meal was. In fact, she did not bother to come by until we flagged down another waitress to get our coffee refill. She did not thank us when we paid for our meal despite getting a $25 tip.Despite all this we would recommend this restaurant for a great atmosphere and wonderful food. We do plan to give this place a second chance on our next trip back.“

“I can't say enough about this place. We came here for my birthday dinner on the recommendation of a relative. I made a reservation and we were seated promptly at a cute window table. Our server made great wine recommendations, based on what we planned to order for dinner and her personal favorites. She took into account any budgetary requirements. The wine was absolutely delightful. We ordered charcuterie, which was just the right amount without taking away our appetite for dinner. The pasta dishes are incredible. Our favorite was the orecchiette which had a Bolognese sauce. The desserts were exactly the right size that we could each order our own and were so delicious. We can't wait to come back!“

“What a cute place! Lots of things to look at and Wow, the tea selection is huge! I met my sisters for breakfast and we had speedy and friendly service. Portobelo mushroom and bacon waffle got good reviews. Very tasty. The jalepeno and spicy sausage quiche got excellent reviews. Had a good kick! The scrambled eggs looked great and tasted good. Just a tiny bit on the dry side. The fresh fruit that came with our orders included orange and pineapple slices as well as a few green grapes. All were appropriately juicy and were refreshing. I had the masala chai tea (black) and that was good too. I would definitely come back and try items off lunch menu.“

“We have passed by Phil’s Tara for years, and always said “I really want to try that place”. Well, today we did, and it was simply divine. We don’t get out on date night often, but when we do, we want to try new things; oysters were our first endeavor. Out waiter, Jackson, gave us the entire 4-11 on exactly how to throughly enjoy oysters, and we ordered more after. Jackson truly made our experience one-of-a-kind.We fell in love with Phil’s Tara today, and we will be back again, and again.“

“I recently visited for a Saturday lunch, and overall, it was a fantastic experience! Despite being busy, the service was impressively fast, and the staff was incredibly friendly. The only downside was the small interior, which made it a bit loud, especially during peak hours. However, it's perfect for groups of six or under, with an ideal size for 2-4 people. I tried the Lilo burger, which was delicious but quite spicy due to the ghost cheese. My partner opted for the chicken tacos and couldn't stop raving about them. However, the real star of the show was the smoked salt fries - they were absolutely phenomenal! If you're looking for a lively spot for lunch in Stillwater, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It's perfect for a fun day out!“

“A Good Neighborhood Sports Bar with a Great Menu and some off the menu items that are an awesome surprise, if you're lucky enough to get Pork chop on a stick night plan on having 3 that is what I usually do anyway, the walleye they have is as good as if I caught it and cleaned it then cooked it myself, that says allot because I can do that and find it hard to order that when I can do it myself but I think it is as good as mine! The crew is pretty good and you are not going to have to wait long for anything“

“Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon with my sister. She's not a huge burger person and she's been telling me how much she loves their burger here. I knew I had to try it. We started with spicy Bloody Mary.... Meal of champions. It was excellent. I ordered the cheeseburger and let me tell you, my sister wasn't kidding.... It was juicy, hot, and delicious. Fries were nice and hot. Next time, I'll ask for extra pickles. Small little dive bar. Lots of locals. Staff were very nice and friendly. You order your food at the window and it comes out quickly. There's a liquor store attached to the bar... that's pretty neat. I also stopped in here before a wedding in February for a few drinks before heading to the Lake Elmo Inn Event Center. Another good experience. If you're in the area or if you're in the mood for bar food, I highly suggest giving it a try. Prices are great too! WIN WIN in my book.“

“Had the prime rib, seasoned perfectly and it was huge, close to 2 pounds easily. Ended up taking half of it home, cut that in half and cooked it up in the morning with eggs for the wife and I and took the remainder for lunch at work. Was it worth it, oh yeah!We will definitely be going back soon. Next will be a Friday night to check out the fish fry. If it is half as good as the prime rib it's gonna be great.Parking: The lot right in front of jonesys was really packed but their is a second lot right across the street with plenty of spaces.“

“Stillwater has somehow kept this place a secret from Wisconsin people. Or maybe it's the wonderful new-ish bridge diverting traffic from historic downtown that made us miss it..... Regardless Wow! If you haven't you have to, if You've heard, then you know, and if you don't wanna know then you just plained missed out, on the second ? most stunning experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Don't treat this place as a bar restaurant it's not even in the same breath. Long winded I apologize, for starters The lovely waitress offers us warm sugar donuts just as a treat. Spectacular idea. Then we indulged into this heavenly plate of Parmesan fries. I could have just had those and been happy. I had the capper burger. Perfectly cooked wonderfully done personally I'd 86 the ciabata bun for a pretzel bun or traditional bun but it didn't downgrade it at all. my wife had the carbonara... that may have edged out The Post American Eatery .. maybe. It was bursting with flavor absolutely a masterpiece. We ended with some delightful key lime pie. Perfect service perfect food perfect atmosphere. All at 4:00 on a Monday. Standards set high bar none. Mic drop Mad capper. Well done Chef well done all. I'll be back and this time I'll charge my phone one more time Chef well down ?“

“This is my favorite neighborhood bar! I've been going to this bar for the last 25 years. I meet 3 old friends and we caught up on each other. In this bar you don't need to talk loud over the music. In this bar you don't have to worry about having trouble with anyone. In this bar you're getting good beer in a frosty mug. The Meister Burger is the absolute bomb!“
“Finally made it across the river to Nova today. My visit left me in the state of "how many times were you told to get here... & kept saying...mehh... I will? Well today did not disappoint! I loved the small brunch cocktail menu, not overwhelming and some great options, the bloody with dill pickle ice was very tempting! I opted for the Knob Creek Colab Sour, it was delicious & not too sweet so I sucked it down in two sips! It paired perfectly w hanging out w buddies on the patio! I like that he patio had options of small square tables, round tables and picnic tables w umbrellas! There's a small parking lot, that if it's full you can easily park along the Coulee curb. Boomin Barbecue has residency and w the Libations for Everyone podcast recording today I opted for the Knob Creek burger, "Smoked & Seared Burger, American Cheese, Smoked Pork Belly, Bourbon Braised Onions, Pickles, Knob Creek Aioli on a Sesame Potato Bun". I'm sorry, correction: the DELICIOUS Knob Creek burger!!! The bar was comfortable and spacious, read: you weren't touching legs w the chair next to you. You can see the two bathrooms from the bar, they're not tucked away in some corner. I like that there is a garage door open to the spacious patio. I was able to have a few words w the friendly owner. I may have drug my feet to have my inaugural visit, but I am positive there will be no delay on my next visit. Thanks Nova for such a fun, comfortable and delicious afternoon, cheers!“

“I ordered a Spotted Cow, as soon as the gal had time. I get annoyed when the bartender is messing with anything but serving food, booze or money transactions. I have no idea what she was doing to have taken so long to ask for the beer and a menu. I was famished. I ordered from a young man and asked which he recommended, the steak sandwich or burgers, he said burger. I ordered the $17.00 Forager Smash with onion rings. The sauce was funky tasting “mayonnaise truffle” and the burger a little too well done and dried out for my taste. I asked for medium rare and expected a juicy burger. Ya, for $17 bucks I want what I ask for! When I am famished almost anything tastes good, but not this. I am no expert on truffle mayo, so maybe that threw me off. If it was made wrong or spoiled, I wouldn’t know the difference, but I won’t order that again. One man band was pretty good playing his guitar and singing. If I had money to lose, I may have gambled or bought some pull tabs.I will go back for a weekend eve with my adult kids, and think they’ll like the vibe. The bar area appears mostly clean, but I didn’t walk around to see everything or use the restroom. There are two levels and I had a view of the St Croix River, the one man band, and everyone coming in and going out. I liked my seat at the bar choice a lot!The bill came and I added a 23% tip, but only the meal portion appeared to be deducted from my bank account. Not sure what happened there, but will definitely be back and make up for that soon.I’m gonna try the steak sandwich next time! Sit in the same spot! Appreciate the atmosphere and local hospitality! All good for going in too hungry 4*s all day long and hoping to give them 5* on my next experience ?️?“

“It’s not a landmark but it’s somewhat of an establishment for Hudson, WI. If it’s busy it’s really busy and that’s not very busy in the summer. In the winter and spring there are days that’s full. “Formerly Uncle Mike's, if you are unsure of the name change and location. My review is after eating there 3 times, once for steak night and twice for their fish. The food is the only reason I would return. The Fried fish which I chose over the broiled was done perfectly on both occasions. The sides of Coleslaw have always been warm and not flavorful, while the choice of tater tots always is done perfectly to my taste, Lightly crunchy. The seating and service are less than desirable, as on the last 2 occasions. The first one we were seated 20 minutes , while watching tables fill around us, and orders taken without anyone coming to our table. I made mentioned to a bus girl cleaning the table next to us, and she got the manager, who apologized for the over site. The restaurant was not overly busy at that time.We decided to give Friday night fish a second try, as the fish was done so well, and we always give things a second try. We didn't fair much better on the try. They were busy and a wait for tables, as the hostess told us on arrival , which we stated we were willing to wait for and would just stand there in queue for or table. No name taken from us or table pager given to us, or even mention a need for either from them . We stood there for 30 min waiting and watching tables empty, noticing staff chatting and taking turns hosting, I then mentioned as they were going to seat someone else, that we had been waiting. That prompted a ...your not on the list response from them. I explained that I was not asked for a name, and we were a mear 4ft from the hostess potum for the past 30 min. I will spare you the remaining poor service that ensued .Do I think the food is... Good...YES.and I will give it another Friday night try in the future and let you know how it goes.“

“When we finally found parking we walked in and were greeted by a gentleman coming out of the restaurant into the hallway. Since we had never been there before we didn't know which way to go to access the restaurant. So we saw the same gentleman whose name was Sam greeting us as we walked into the restaurant. We ordered some drinks and boy were they delicious. As we waited for our drinks the tilted Hawaiian and the pineapple bomb to come we couldn't help but notice how great the decor was. I loved the Hawaiian theme in the restaurant was a nice touch and also how the servers had on Hawaiian shirts. So we placed our orders, I ordered the vegan chicken pita wrap, and my other half had the crispy chicken club. I wasn't quite sure how the food would taste especially because I've never had plant-based food before. The food came out after a short wait and I took one bite of my vegan chicken wrap and knew I would have to return to try more items on the menu. My other half loved her food as well, so this was a great find. Also, they have live music on certain days. Although parking can be a bit challenging, the food and service more than make up for it, can't wait to return.“

“It's still a great restaurant, maybe even better after the change in ownership!I really appreciate the update to the look of their menu. Don't worry, they still have the same great breakfast selection and burger selection!Friendly staff (no complaints), decent food, and I've rarely ever had to wait to be seated. There is a bar, but it has never posed an obstacle for one of their main goals of being family friendly. There is a smaller parking lot that is typically full during meal times. I've only had an issue finding a spot twice in the 8+ years I've been going here. There is handicap parking. The doors do not have a handicap accessibility button, they are pull only doors. The environment is typically not loud or distracting. It is a great local restaurant.I would recommend all-American breakfast, waffles, pancakes, their cheese curds, and the build your own burger. They make great pies, my personal favorites are the cherry and the French silk pies.“
