“This is the best bakery in town! It's high quality, the pastry tastes like something made with care. One of my favorites ,that I can't get anywhere else, it their nut bread. When I was a kid we got it from the Dixie cream bakery, it doesn't exist anymore. Everything I've ever gotten there is good. I can recommed the cinnamon crisps too, much much better than Cub's. check for hours because Mike is recovering from open heart surgery. I'm SOOO glad he's doing well enough to come back to making the best treats anywhere. (My grandkids love his big frosted sugar cookies!) I've been going there for 40 years!“

“I'm a sucker for a good danish and by looks alone, this one passed the test. There is a wonderful crunch from the puff pastry followed by a perfect balance between the blueberries and cream cheese. Everything stands out in its own way which makes this an excellent danish! I also got a loaf of their sourdough to share with others. This was absolutely fantastic too! Their walk up to-go style of ordering is super convenient especially when everything is on display in front of a glass window. I don't think you could go wrong with whatever you end up buying here, and I wish I could've tried one of everything!“

“I haven’t eaten many things on the menu but what I’ve had was very good to excellent. However if the staff and ambience doesn’t work great food won’t bring me back. The restaurant has a funky lived in feel that’s very comfortable. I can’t wait to check out the patio. The wait staff is superb. You can tell they enjoy themselves with lots easy banter and laughter. They actually make eye contact when I talk to them :-). You can tell they were hired for their great people skills.“

“We absolutely love Breadsmith on Grand. Not only is their bread delicious they are also a great part of the St. Paul community. The owner agreed to host my 6 year old daughter and a handful of her friends for a tour and baking lesson for her birthday because she wants to be a baker when she grows up. “My fiancee is from a Mexican family and so we go to a lot of bakeries like this in the Twin Cities and in Milwaukee (where her family is from). This is hands-down the best one I've been to in terms of selection, value and service.I've tried about 6 different sweet breaks and all are delicious although my favorite are the molasses ones shaped like a pig. Fiancee also likes the bolillo which are basically the Mexican sandwich bread. They are a big bigger and softer than a french bread and are delicious. They have plain ones and also ones that are in the cases and are stuffed with cream cheese and jalapenos. Delicious! Finally, we only go here for birthday cakes anymore as the tres leches are the best I've ever had. On all of these items, the price is what stands out. If you went to a high-end grocery store and got a bunch of sweet breads, regular bread and a full, massive tres leches cake, you'd be in for way over $100. Here, you're way under $100. It's nice to come to a place and feel like they're not trying to rip you off and that's how I feel here. Finally, a shout out to the workers here. Always the same folks and always super friendly and helpful. You're fine to come if you don't speak Spanish as well, so don't be shy!“
