“This place has great food for a great price. The employees work hard to get the food out fast and keep a clean dining room. While I was sitting and waiting for a to-go order, I saw an employee (not sure if owner or manager or other but that is beside the point) just walk a bag of food out for a customer while she was carrying her baby and struggling to hold both. Can’t say enough good things about this place. Love it“
“This place is a diamond in the financial district! My friends and I stopped here during our lunch break because we were craving tex mex I looked the place up and felt hopeful but once we got the food we were blown away! Ernesto and veronica (i hope i got their names right) were the most welcoming and the food was fresh, filling, and tasted amazing. It felt like a mom and pop restaurant and the chocolate chip toffee cookie was heavenly. Sadly we were in KC for only a week or id go there every day during lunch! Get a bowl and cherry coke and say hi to the owners for Nico, Justin and I“
“Awesome neighboorhood casual mexican eatery that is family owned and operated. Loved the fresh cooked chips and the fresh salsa is outstanding. Try the pickle salsa on the beef tacos, sounds different but was fantastic. Will be coming back!“
“The customer service here is fantastic. Every single staff member was kind and smiling and willing to help. The service is also fast which I appreciate since I didn’t have much time for lunch. I made a mistake and ordered the wrong dish so I can’t really rave about the food but it was still up to par.“
“Go check out their new location. I’ve been coming here for about 3 years and have always liked it but it rivaled one of my favs in Overland Park. Tonight they blew them out of the water. They have definitely been putting their all into the not only the restaurant but the food too and I could definitely tell. Best meal I’ve had in a while. Tacos al pastor always hits but tonight it was other worldly. Also ordered pozole, tamales and elote. All was so fire will definitely be coming more often than I was.“
“I went for Sunday brunch and everything was spectacular. I shared the esquites, queso fundido, and ceviche, and for my entree I had the chilaquiles. For dessert, we shared the arroz con leche, and I would recommend everything on that list. Drinks were tasty and refreshing, and the service was excellent. 100% you should eat at this restaurant, Roman creates excellent dishes and takes his time to plate the food beautifully. You can tell he cares about his food, restaurant, and customers.“
“Food is great, always fresh and hot. Very reasonable prices. Lots of choices. If there's a line, you get a beeper so you can wait in your car. Its a nice set up. Definitely recommend.Parking: The Torta...omg. Yes.Kid-friendliness: Its a food truck.“
“I come here every week on Tuesday. I love it here. My friends and I gather and eat delicious food together and have a wonderful time. There is a bar for drinks although a bit on the pricier on shots compared to other places.Chorizo is my favorite with Quesabirria coming close in second. All the meats are so flavorful and so satisfying. The chips and queso are probably my favorite of all near by mexican joints.I also should mention their serve yourself bar with onions, cilantro, many other veggies, pineapple, and various sauces to fit all spice level eaters. The service is always so nice, when we come consistently they even remember our orders and its super sweet and makes us feel special.I will be back and I will continue to invite more people to come every week!!*They have a secret taco tuesday that we have been asked if we are apart of although there is never any extra information on how to join this group.“
“Food was great, yummy veggie options, and the service was excellent. Every single person was smiling and helpful- you just don’t find that environment everywhere these days. Thanks for a great dinner (and thanks Diana and the rest of the staff for being awesome!)“
“Went here on a weeknight last month and it seemed very low key even though they have a full bar and plenty of seating. I wasn’t paying attention to prices but we got a variety of 8 tacos plus salsa, grilled peppers and onions for about $20. Would definitely come back again.“
“This place is a North Kansas City icon!!! If you don't get the meat and cheese tacos, you're totally missing out on what's made them a famous taco staple and establishment. I think it's the unorthodox way in which they make them, with the meat filling and yellow powdered cheese, they can not be rivaled anywhere!!! Love, love the corn nuggets, deep-fried cauliflower, fried mushrooms, and amazing taco burgers. A must try, seriously! Drive to North Oak tfwy and get you some!!!“
“Food is authentic and tastes great. Perfect amount odds seasonings. Plated well even though it was take out. Make sure to visit this hidden gem in South KC. Small locally owned business that needs your support! Owners very nice and service was fast.“
“I had the Marky's Big Mama Burrito and it was huge with a nice topping of chorizo. Good portioned side of a cheese relleno too. The staff was fast, nice, and attentive and the drinks were good too. Will be back -- a good deal for the money and an inviting atmosphere!“
“One of my favorite Mexican restaurants!Great food! Large portions and the food is always good and fresh! Our server was excellent and attentive no matter how busy they are. This restaurant is always busy! So go early or be prepared to stand and wait for a table!Parking is in the back of the restaurant and on the street in front but Broadway is busy so best to park in the back.I like ordering al-la-carte because the portions are large! Please go if you haven't, you will enjoy it!“
“I have a sentimental connection with this location-- my father was an acquaintance to the owners and he would bring hotel guests when they asked for authentic Mexican tacos. I also got to experience the flavor and great service prior to his passing. On another note, there are indoor and outside seating choices. There are plenty of other authentic items to purchase and different food items; we always opt for carne asada & al pastor tacos with cheesy fries (queso is thick & tasty). Salsa bar offers great spicy and non-spicy salsas. I like the mural and open space update. RR does need a little attention.“
“This place is unapologetically greasy, cheesy, and down right good. I understand why it has been around for so long. I loved my tacos and burger pocket. It is so old school, you know exactly what kind of food you’ll be getting as soon as you walk through the doors. I loved every bite I had. I can’t wait to come back.“
“We were a party of 14 with no reservations. They were able to seat us n take are orders within a few minutes of entering their establishment, even though they had a pretty full restaurant. The waitress was very efficient and they brought are food out within about 10 or 15 minutes. Everyone was pleased with their food.“
“Hands down my favorite street tacos in town. The atmosphere is SO sweet and the servers are always working so hard to make things incredible. It's wildly inexpensive for what you get and this place will truly turn your whole day around! Definitely give it a go.“
“Yes, I'd rather sit down in a restaurant than order from a truck and wolf my food down at home with the dogs giving me the evil eye...BUT THIS IS THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD I'VE ENJOYED IN A LONG TIME!!! Fast, friendly and so very good. DO NOT DENY YOURSELF!!!“
“During our visit to KC from Vancouver, CA. We stumbled across this great local spot while enjoying the beautiful neighbourhoods near by.Rudy’s had exceptional service! Fresh tortilla chips and salsa almost immediately after being seated followed with a drink order and delicious tacos!! This place is as filled with locals and definitely was the place we wanted to find to avoid the tourist hub.We will certainly be back!!“
“Very good although I'm pretty sure they gave me gross lenguas because the first time I ordered it it was not meaty and chopped small and gelatinous and the next time it was just slices of very soft meat. Id rather get a little of both rather than have to gamble with a 100% gross meat taco.“
“Great fish taco and really nice staff. The room was cold because the window was open and the people at the one big table there were practically screaming, which was really uncomfortable. It's not that common to tell people to be quiet in the US I guess.“
“-Sweet, salty and savory treats and drink options -Welcoming and attentive service. -Menu titles in Spanish with English descriptions. -Location has been upgraded with outside seating and canopy. -Processing fee for credit card payments -$$“
“Fast food tacos! Kind of like chipotle but tacos only and you don’t really pick what’s on your taco but the layout is similar hahaha. These are pretty large. 2 tacos is plenty! ?? The trailer park taco was amazinggggg. I am drooling ? . But I also love fried chicken haha. ?I also tried the tipsy chicken taco which was really good as well. They come with plenty of sauces on the side too. Indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor doesn’t have big tables for more then like 4 people though. But outdoor does. Really delicious. Can’t wait to try the others!! ???“
“I stopped in today to get a burrito to go. I will say this... I have been eating Chipotle burritos for years.. but the Al Pastor burrito that I got today was a thousand times better than any Chipotle burrito I ever had! No joke. I'm a Foodi and the ingredients and flavors were awesome! I love this burrito today and I'm sure I will be back!“
“You'll know immediately that this place is special. The chips explode with real flavor ......on the menu, of you love something you've had elsewhere, it'll be better here. Flavor Explosion !!! And don't forget to order the Horchata, IF you're not drinking a "margie".“
“Ambiance: 1Service: 3Food: 4Star rating based on the food. This is solid Jalisco style Mexican food. The area of town is a little rough, but if you eat authentic Mexican in KC, that shouldn't bother you. It is located next to Teri's Jigger. It looks like it is in the same building, but there are separate doors (two entrances ) and a different address. There is street parking at the side and a parking lot around back with a rear entrance. The ambiance could definitely use some help. Just getting rid of random stuff stored in the dining room and doing something to decorate the walls would help a lot. There is a tv playing music. Service was friendly, but distant. Once they bring the food they basically leave you alone. I was given a basket of chips (just okay) and salsa (good with a little heat) and brought a plastic bottle of American coke. There are both cans and bottles available. I was disappointed that it wasn't Mexican Coke. About 10 minutes later a Hispanic customer got a Mexican Coke, so I exchanged my unopened soda for the good kind. So, be specific when you order or they may assume you want the American version. I ordered three Quesabirria tacos. Unlike most restaurants, here they let you order as many or as few Quesabirria as you want. They are $4 each and very filling. Two would have been plenty for me. The consommé was less flavorful than a couple of other places in KC, but the tacos themselves were very good. Near the top of the Quesabirria that I've tried. They are served with the standard onion and cilantro and also pickled onion which really elevated the dish. The pickle cuts through all that fat and grease with a little acid and it's really nice.I'm looking forward to coming back because I really want to try their Jalisco specialties. Specifically the Torta Ahogada (drowned sandwich) and the Jericalla (burnt custard). I paid with Apple Pay, but there wasn't a way to leave a tip with credit card, so bring cash. There is also a tip jar for the cooks. They don't have a website, but their Facebook page is active and they are also on DoorDash. No alcoholic beverages. If you're feeling adventurous, give them a try!“
“Was in for a company team lunch: filled up closer to noon. Seems to be locally popular.Menu was compact but had all the essentials (and they were tasty)Chips are fried in-house.For those particular to salsa: 'Spicy' salsa was relatively spicy however very liquid when it comes to consistency.Friendly and receptive staff.Parking: About ten spaces reserved for the restaurant are available behind the restaurant.“
“Love Señorita Margarita! I got the 3 tacos and margarita combo. The carne asada was authentic and delicious! The spicy margarita was the best in town! My server/bartender, Cheyenne, was great. Very attentive and fast! I’ll definitely be back.“
“I've eaten here before, but it continues to be one wonderful tasting meal you should treat yourself to. The service is always quick and friendly. As the owner will tell you "giving the people what they want is what keeps a line forming at his window." I think the smells of the meat smoking over open pit wood fire is what makes me stop in whenever I pass by.“
“My husband and I have visited a couple of times. Everyone was very friendly. Portions were a great size, and endless chips. I enjoyed the $5 margaritas. I also had the chiveche, it was really awesome! My new favorite. Our new neighborhood spot! Keep it up guys! We love your food!“
“This is a market/restaurant. The food is delicious. We drive 60 miles one way to eat here. They make their tortillas right in front of you. We always buy both the corn and flour tortillas. I've tried many of their food items and it is all delicious. I especially like the tamales and tacos. It's very casual. Around noon each day the place is packed.“
“Online ordered tacos and chips/salsa for 75 people. Food wasn’t ready by time of pickup, however understand the lunch hour rush- and food was hot when I received, so no complaints on the extended wait. Host assist carrying to car, which was very helpful! Thanks!Parking: Pickup parking available off street, in front of entrance.“
“This place is my new favorite Mexican food spot. I didn't attach the picture because it doesn't do the meal justice. I have been looking for a loaded nacho situation for a very long time and nowhere seemed to have anything that would satisfy my pallet until I stumbled upon Aberlardo. I am seeing them pop up everywhere in the city and I am glad I tried it out. I got their nachos and they come with your choice of protein, and it has sour cream, guacamole, cheese, salsa, house made chips and it was just packed with flavor. I will be back. I would just warn that a large size is meant to share, I got a large and I had a lot left over. Enjoy!“
“Second time at Macarenas today and it’s now our favorite Mexican spot. We ordered their breakfast burritos and they were amazing. Previously we have had the quesaburria tacos and chicken burritos, both were delicious! Highly recommend visiting!“
“(Translated by Google) Very delicious food from everything on the menu and friendly service from everyone who attends, we really recommend it, we will continue trying and enjoying it again!(Original)Muy Rica la comida de todo lo del menú y servicio amable de todos los que atienden, lo recomendamos de verdad, volveremos a seguir probando y disfrutando!“
“I just got delivery from them and it was excellent! I would give them 5 stars but I didn't receive any chips! The ceviche was very fresh and tasty! The chicken enchiladas were a little bit spicy but just right! I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting authentic Mexican food! Just remember the chips! Lol“
I love this burrito today and I'm sure I will be back!“
“I've been coming here for years.! I love this place.! Always amazing food and service. Love the people!! And you can tell that they must take care of their employees because everyone has worked here for a long time... I love seeing familiar faces. They're always so friendly, and the kids always have a wonderful experience while eating here or even at home when I get Togo foodKid-friendliness: They offer several choices for children. Not just the plain old toco or quesadilla.!!“
“Local dive in the heart of Kansas City serving authentic Latin/Mexican food. They have a drive through food pickup lane in front. Screen in patio seating and indoor seating. Our first time here. We sat in the screen in patio area. Nice, clean with enough seating for about 20 people. We ate and watch several cars drive up for food/drink pickup. Price may be a little higher than other places but food is really good and authentic.“
“I’m pretty sure this is basically La Fuentes under a different name :)Faster service and seating than other places in the Northland.Mexican pizza is absolutely fantastic!Order the pitcher of Margaritas it’s better tasting.Rellenos are also really good.Tacos and basic ground beef dishes are a little bland and well basic.Ask for the Hot salsa too!“
“Great food and welcoming staff. I could see this place as a franchise. The best way to describe it for someone who has never been here before. A Mexican Dairy Queen, from quesobirra's and sopes to banana splits and mangoneada's. It has a good variety on the menu. Support this place, once they invest more in that park and neighborhood this place will go far.“
“Very good service, friendly staff and I ordered something incorrectly but really liked what I received. Affordable $5 burritosVegetarian options: They aren't labeled but I got a zucchini burrito with beans and cheese and it was worth having again.“
“First time here, decided to try somewhere new for taco Tuesday. It was DELICIOUS! The service was spectacular, options were plentiful, and each of our orders came out perfect. Menu items are a lot more affordable than the surrounding Mexican restaurants, and the portions are huge. Drinks taste handmade, as opposed to from a mix high in sugar. Highly recommend choosing El Maguey for your next Mexican craving.“
“I wish they would change their name to Sofa King because every time I grab a half chicken there, I say that name, followed by Good! Seriously, best charbroiled chicken in town, maybe anywhere. Amazing flavor, perfect kick and the green sauce is the bomb. Only the bold need apply. I could go on, but I won't. Instead I will focus on my next opportunity to eat here. Sofa King. Good.“
“I have lived in the area for 8 years, but I have never visited south of Summit before. Each of my three tacos was incredible. I had the fish, the mushroom, and the chicken. Not only were they loaded, but they were delicious. And their chips just might be the best of any place I've been in Kansas “
“My family and myself ordered several things that were bomb! This was our first time going there and everything was fresh and authentic.Let's start with the appetizers.-Espinoca queso & guacamole dip, FIRE as in GREAT! The queso was the first to go and we'll worth the money.-Chips & Salsa, The chips were warm and if their warm they were made fresh and the salsa....... Put of this world. The salsa had so much flavor and freshness to it were my kids wanted more. Perfectly "salsafied" with cilantro.Next is the entrees. We've pretty much ordered Enchiladas, Chimichangas, Burritos, and Fajitas..... All dishes were bussin' and seasoned to perfection! And you can't sleep on their refried beans. We tried the fried ice cream. DELICIOUS!!! If you order this be prepared to share this with someone else, maybe 2.Our waitress was awesome. She refilled our drinks and kept the salsa & chips coming without missing a beat. I wish I remembered her name but shoutout to her. The epitome of what great customer service is.I'm mad we haven't tried this place out sooner. This definitely will be our new spot going forward!Kid-friendliness: Our waitress ensured our kids felt seen and heard ♥“
“Es una tienda buena, el único PROBLEMA es el personal que tienen, cuando uno compra carne y luego el queso, la mayoría de veces no se cambian los guantes y las cajeras SIEMPRE atienden con MALA CARA, como si uno estuviera pidiendo regalado.“
“This place has a family-run feel that's so fun. Sometimes they just send you back to the kitchen and show you everything that's cooking, and you order right there. They don't have margaritas, but they have something better. Try the Paloma.“
