I stop here almost every time I have to go to Springfield and have literally never had a bad experience in the last 5+ years.“
“Stumbled upon this place while looking for a local coffee business to support. SO happy to find a vegan restaurant here in Springfield but even more happy to find they were absolutely delightful in every way imaginable! Great coffee and even better food, like holy wow! The ladies working were an absolute pleasure to deal with and offered to help me walk my large order to my vehicle since I was parked far away. Phenomenal biscuits and gravy and sausage and egg biscuit, unfortunately I think I was too late for any pastries as they seem to have been cleaned out but I think that’s pretty telling in itself, I can’t wait to come back for more. Sure hope this place sticks around, it’s a total gem and I’m so very happy to have found it! “So I have a wheat allergy, and have been going to neighbors mill for a long time because I can have the spelt oat bread. Here recently the customer service has gone way down hill. Today I called a head and order a grilled cheese on spelt, a tomato soup, and a salad and told them “no bread on the side.” When I got there I checked my food (because I have ordered this before and still end up with bread on the salad and have to give it away) and the salad had the focaccia in with it. So I told the lady checking me out that it needs to be remade, and her response to me was “well you should have told us.” (It was written on the receipt) so while I was waiting for that I asked for a spelt pumpkin muffin, paid for it and went on my way. At a stop light I had realized that she had given me a regular pumpkin muffin. So I turned around and when I got there she said “what’s wrong now?” And I told her that she put a regular muffin in my bag when I had asked for a spelt one because of my allergy. Needless to say I’m done, between what happened today and a buddy of mine used to work there and he told me that they treat their employees like garbage. Now they’re treating their customers the same way.“

“It was my friends turn to choose a lunch destination, she called with Beth’s Bake Shoppe as a suggestion and it did not disappoint! The lunch choices all looked wonderful and our final selections were delicious! It seemed at the end of our meal we heard a noise which turned out to be the desserts calling our name, all I can say is yum!Dietary restrictions: Many choices for a variety of restrictions such as gluten and dairy free.“
“Service has always been good. The they carry is good, but it's not made in a traditional way. The pastries are great, and the ambiance and comfort is ok. This is one of the best shops in Springfield, but that's not saying much as most shops here provide really awful coffee because it's cheaper. Stay away from local coffee as it tastes much like dirt. The euro cafe has a beautiful Italian espresso bean called Lavazza. There's better out there, but not in Springfield.“

“As a mainstay of Springfield, each Travellers House has its own unique aesthetic. The West Republic Road location has a warm, rustic atmosphere. The Venturella family has taken pains to accommodate a wide range of customers. There are high-top and normal tables with good outlet access for your laptop or tablet. There are sections of upholstered chairs for a comfortable social gathering or curling up to a good book. A more secluded area with a couch and chairs is also available. Just to cover all of the possible needs of a customer, there is also a conference room for you Bible study or company meeting.The pastries are all made from scratch either on site or at their Boomer location. With expert knowledge of coffee and tea, you can't go wrong with any of their brewed drinks, but some are good and others are great! The lunch menu does not disappoint, offering quite a selection of options.The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Orders are completed promptly and with care. As a testament to their customer retention, they have quite a few regulars.All-in-all, Travellers House is a solid option for about any type of coffee or tea related occasion. I cannot recommend them highly enough.Wheelchair accessibility: I regularly see myriad personal transportation devices come in and out with ease. There is ready access from the parking lot to the front door.“

“I just left Black Dog, a shop which I’ve been in many times, but mostly for coffee not for food. They had just released a new chocolate orange cruffinish bread so I thought I’d give it a go. Words are hard to describe what I felt but It was the most amazing pastry experience I have ever had. Seriously from a man who loves pastries this is otherworldly. “This is a great authentic mexican grocery store in Springfield Mo. In the very back (behind the Pan dulce - mexican pastry section) right hand corner is a small restaurant. It was hard to find but don’t give up looking.We use to go to Leslie’s often when they were near Jim’s Steak House. We didn’t know where they moved too and we were so glad we found them again. This new store/restaurant is definitely bigger than the other location.“
“S&L on Republic -I ordered a Chai tea today and It tasted horrible so I went back into the establishment and let the young gal who made it know that it tasted like burnt coffee , she wasn’t willing to help rectify the situation and as I was leaving with out a replacement or refund one of the male employees made me a fresh cup of Chai which was on point !
