“Lonnie's Reno Club serves up fantastic jazz with great food and a positive vibe. The staff is super friendly, and the food is top-notch. Trust me, you won't find an experience like this anywhere, and Lonnie's talent is unmatched. Definitely worth going – you won't be let down. We have been 4 times and will be back again soon. Every time is such a different experience. I really can't say enough great things about this show, it is my favorite and I have been to a lot of shows :)“
“Tim was the best waiter. He was accommodating to our very large group and so much fun. He dealt with all of our loud chaos well. The drinks and food were good too and came out quickly. I got clam chowder and a lobster roll, which was great! Crab cakes were good too! We will definitely be coming back.“
“A typical, quick, breakfast place with the usual selection of breakfast fare except no hashbrowns offered.Service was excellent - staff asked if I was new to the area as "it's usually a local spot".Wheelchair accessibility: Normal sized doorways, however not sure if automatic doors openers were present.“
“Came here with a friend with little to no real expectations. We were simply looking for a new spot to chill while we catch up on "girl-talk" And Baaaaby - Wow! Hear me when I say EVERYTHING from the greeting, atmosphere, service, hospitality, FOOD and management on point!!My friend's a vegetarian so she ordered a veggie burger but wasn't a fan of the artichoke base pattie. Our waitress saw that she was only eating the fries and offered to prepare a whole new burger, substitute the pattie and add a few other fresh veggies and instantly my friend was won over.?Everything about my dish (bibimbap) was super flavorful and amazingly good!!I have yet to stop talking about my experience here I give a true 10/10Vegetarian options: Not a huge vegetarian option but the option available is delicious!“
“A surprised diamond in the urban core of the city!!!! The atmosphere was clean, crisp, and upscale. The service was pleasant, attentive, and informative. The food specials were intriguing and danced on the palette like a ballerina! The halibut was perfect!!! I was expecting more of a showstopper from the lobster rolls although it had great flavors the garlic bread did not do it justice! The drinks and appetizers took the show! This is definitely a come again spot!!! And YES!!!! I didn’t mind saying Bloody Mary once, twice, and even three times!!!!!!“
“THE BIG CHEESE!- Not the smash burger version. This was one of the best burgers I’ve had in KC recently. They have absolutely nailed the ratios. Specific descriptions: Ratios on this burger were excellent- the burger to bun size; width, height, and thickness, was perfect for a balanced bite. The type of bun they are using is soft, has a bit of texture on the outside, but also has enough spring to it that it does not get mushy or fall apart midway through the burger, or at all really. In fact, the structural integrity of the burger was better than any I’ve had lately- judging from first bite to last. The burger patty itself had a great sear on the outside, they really nailed the texture on this too. It’s got the sear slight crunch on the outside and then juicy on the inside. It was not at all greasy. The meat had great flavor and was not over salted- it was not bland either- they got the seasoning ratio right as well. I was skeptical about the arugula being too bitter for this burger. I was also skeptical about two slices of cheese being too much. I was wrong on both. The arugula is tossed with something that gives it just the tiniest bit of acid, this brightens it just enough to balance the richness of it. The American cheese they use is sliced thin, so using two slices is again just the right amount of cheese. The sauce they use on it complement the entire arrangement. Usually I will add sauce on anything. But not this burger. My dining partner mentioned they forgot to ask to leave the tomato off. Glad we didn’t. It was perfect in the bite mix. From the first bite to the last this was just an incredible burger eating experience. Their kitchen has absolutely got making a killer burger dialed in! The staff were very attentive and friendly. Speaking of adding sauces to things. The Brussels were good, but surprisingly I felt like the sauce on them was too much and made the Brussels soggy. The sauce is delicious, but a little of it goes a long way. Next time I will see if they are willing to put the sauce on the side and dip them instead. I also like that they have the small beer pours so I can try some of the local/ seasonal beers too. We will be back. Thank you!!!“
“My husband and I had our date night at Cascone's and everything was delicious! We started with the bread and Sicilian dip. Always a great way to start. My husband had the The Italian Flag which gives you three different dishes - baked lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and fettuccine alfredo. He said each was absolutely amazing. The sauces were well seasoned and so tasty. The noodles were nicely coated and the chicken was cooked perfectly. He added on two meatballs because he couldn't resist and the were spot on as well. There was a lot of food, so his remainders came home with us in a to-go box.I had the Crazy Alfredo. I love how you get to have chicken, Italian sausage and shrimp in the creamy, yummy Alfredo sauce. It has banana peppers which add the perfect tang to your bites. I can't forget to mention the sun dried tomato as well. It all comes together so well and again was just delicious. We shared a piece of chocolate cake for dessert and wow! It was just the right amount of sweet and was the perfect end to a lovely meal. We can't wait to come back.“
“It's always an amazing place to have a beer or 2, great food and good portions too. You won't be disappointed. I have gotten the chicken fried steak more than once, and it was amazing every single time! If you want burgers or just apps, they have a selection that won't disappoint, and if you're there for the women, then I guess they have them there, too. What's their slogan? Come for the view? Would it be objectifying if they work there on purpose? Anyhow they are very friendly and have great service to boot. go there for lunch, dinner, and bring the family or the crew. You'll have a great time with great food.“
“Food was really good. Service was quirky and attentive. My only complaint about anything was the lighting. They have weird blue lights that (see picture) make it difficult to read the menu and see the food. I had to guess a lot about the flavors. This was on the back patio. I'll be back but I'm bringing my glasses next time.“
“If you are looking for a taste of Cajun food, this is THE place! It may look a little unassuming from the outside, but the food inside is amazing! We had the blue crab po'boy and sea hog (bacon wrapped shrimp) po'boy, shared a bowl of seafood gumbo and side of okra.Everything was cooked to perfection!“
“If you've never been to Kitty's you need to stop reading these reviews and go right now. This is an amazing spot with a ton of history and has the best fast sandwich in KC. They don't skimp on the portion either, these are big sandwiches and they're 110% worth the money and wait.I love this spot and if you've never had it you're in for an absolute treat.“
“We absolutely loved the cozy atmosphere. The Reuben sandwich is the best Reuben we've ever had. The patty melt was extremely delicious as well. I loved the potato hash as a side it was unique and flavorful. The service was great. Our waiter was friendly, informative, and very attentive. We are definitely making this a regular stop.“
“A nostalgic environment. The menu is limited, but the food is excellent. Note that the menu slightly changes from week to week, or month to month or seasonly. So check their website. The artwork at the 21c was beautiful. And the TV was showing silent movies from the past. An excellent restaurant for dinner. We'll definitely be back.“
“Great dining experience! We sat at the chef’s counter and it was so cool to sit in front of the fire and watch all the food being made. The waitress was friendly and professional and made some great recommendations. She recommended 5-6 plates for the two of us. I highly recommend starting with the Clara Bow rolls. They are as good as everyone says they are. The croquettes and the bone marrow were also two of our favorites, but every dish was amazing and well presented. Overall, we may have found a new favorite restaurant in KC. Can’t wait to go back. Be sure to makes reservations as the place was quite busy. Also, check out the hotel bar if you have some time before or after.Update: We’ve been back several times now. You can’t go wrong here. Everything is amazing! Highly recommend!“
“I had the duck and a sake flight. It was delicious and the flight was super interesting. My husband had the salmon. The menu is more set up for sharing, but the 2 dishes we had were full servings. It's also farm table seating. Meaning long tables they sit multiple parties at.Service was wonderful. Atmosphere was stunning.Highly recommend reservations. We got the brownie dessert, this wasn't my favorite and really expensive for $15. The video is of the creme Brule (not the brownie)“
“As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon. I ordered their classic eggs benedict, and it was absolutely divine! The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy, and the eggs were perfectly poached. The side of crispy hash browns added the perfect crunch to the meal. Looking forward to my next visit!“
“I didn’t get any pictures of our food, but it was fabulous as always! But the real star of the show tonight was our server, Chloe. She was so sweet and so attentive. Our drinks were never empty, food was served quickly, and she offered up some great conversation! Very personable and charismatic!! Will definitely request her next time we go back.“
“This place is tucked away but worth the discovery. The staff was excellent and went above & beyond to make the dinner special. Deliciously crafted dishes that tickle your tongue with flavor and texture. From the appetizers to dessert, Chef Ryan knows what he’s doing and we’re lucky he’s sharing his craft with Kansas City. Highly recommend.“
“Top five favorite places to eat in Kansas City.Every detail from the front counter to the bathrooms was thought out and fits their vibe.Food is cooked on an open fire which is very unique. All breads are baked in house. The staff is beyond nice and the table markers are old license plates. How cute!“
“If I could give it 10 stars I would! This is a family owned business, you get that feel as you walk in the door. The staff goes above & beyond. For those that want good home cooked food just give it a try and you will be hooked! There really isn’t too many places out there like this place anymore. I love love love the sweet iced tea and of course our waitress Kenna!Kid-friendliness: Kenna is just a big kid herself so of course there is gonna be kid friendliness up in there!“
“This is the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffle. It’s perfectly seasoned for KC flavor: a little bit of heat and a little bit of sweet. The breading is light, yet still crunchy. Along with a white mayo-based bbq sauce, it’s served over a cornbread waffle with maple syrup and a bed of greens. Perfectly balanced. I recommend it alongside a limeade for a perfect bright kick. My friends likewise recommend their sandwiches. We’ll definitely be back when we return to the KC City Market.“
“Famous chicken and waffles was like a party in my mouth! The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and the waffles were fluffy and golden brown. Plus, the portion sizes were huge - I definitely left feeling satisfied. The service was friendly. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Niecie's!“
“This was our 1st time going to Black Bear. We went in not sure what to expect. The server we had was just so nice and he told us what was really good, most popular, and about the menu. After we took his suggestion we ordered chicken fried steak, and por roast dinner. On the lesser side of menu. Due to our 1st time he wanted us to try the cornbread muffin. Wow that is another A+. We received top notch everything and will be back again. 5 stars is not enoughParking: Right out in front no problemsWheelchair accessibility: Handi-cap parking right in front“
“If you need a place to impress someone, have a date night, or just a cozy comforting meal, Antler Room is THE place. Every dish is a slice of heaven, and the homemade pasta is to die for. The staff and atmosphere are always warm and inviting. GO... any chance you get!“
“Good Mac and cheese place. We got the BBQ Mac which was of course super good. The BBB Mac which had SO MUCH bacon, it was a bit sweeter but still really good especially with all the bacon. And we got the fried Mac bites. Those were decent. Breading was super good on the and super crispy.Place is small with limited seating. Defiantly designed for the corporate clientele in the area. Self serv kiosk to order and looked to be one person behind making the food. He was supper apologetic of the wait (we didn’t wait long. Maybe 10 min). Nice little quick bite but better as take out instead of sitting to eat.“
“I was really fortunate to get a small table for 1 on a Saturday morning (larger parties had a long wait). Highly recommend making a reservation. All the staff were very friendly and attentive. I had the carrot cake pancakes, which were excellent - lots of flavor without being too sweet.“
“Elise at Toms Town was amazing. She gave a great tour and the tasting with her was so fun. She has us addicted to the double oak Bourbon! If you do not drink bourbon, you can still enjoy the tour. Loved looking around and enjoyed the video of all the history that this distillery has. The food was an added bonus!“
“The food was plentiful and fantastic. This is a small dive, but worth the hype. I hope it won't be torn down for the new baseball stadium. I definate plan to go back. We had the meatloaf sandwich which was awesome and had a touch of smoke on the meatloaf. I had The Hot Mess and it was a LOT of food!“
“Love love love this place I lived in the northeast area my whole life and always drove past this coffee shop recently started trying different places and this morning I walked in hoping to find a hidden gem such a vibe great delicious coffee great costumer service beautiful cute cozy sitting will go again especially knowing that it’s right down the street from my house“
“This place is pretty cool. It’s tucked away but easy to find. We came for some drinks and appetizers and got the wings, which were just okay… last time I visited I got a pizza and it was delicious!! There was live music and the service was good.“
“This is a true hole-in-the-wall local bar with lots of class and charm. It is a firefighter's bar and grill with all the gear and decor to go with it. Really cool place for drinks and food. The pork tenderloin is as huge as a plate, truly amazing. Definitely a place to visit when in the area.“
“Was there for the chiefs Super Bowl parade. Had amazing seats, at the window, but the best part…the server was the best I’ve ever had in P&L. If you go there ask for Haleigh Wills. She was fun, engaging, didn’t run off after order and took time to joke with us. She is a 5 star alone. McFadden’s is as was obviously.. Epic experience, hands down.“
“You Say Tomato has some fire breakfast casserole let me just say that... Get it with the mushroom and sausage gravy and you won't be disappointed. I need to go back and get their gazpacho. Its a cold tomato soup with veggies in it... its one of my favorites. Its a unique place to go have breakfast or lunch at and the menu is unique just like the place. I'll be back to grab some Gazpacho...“
“Food is scrumpdillicious! Staff is friendly, proficient, professional & always available when you're ready for another drink, more rolls, or anything else you may want. All the homemade rolls with honey/cinnamon butter you want at no additional charge. I'm not a big salad eater, but theirs is fresh & so good! Steak is always perfectly cooked (like my blue rare, impossible to get it too rare), & it's always tasty & tender. I always get mashed potatoes with country white gravy. They make their gravy with bacon drippings, so it tastes amazing! One of cheaper steak houses, but quality puts most other places to shame!! My favourite place to eat steak!!!!“
“We visited Blade & Timber for the first time (None of us had ever thrown an ax before) to celebrate our daughter's 17th birthday. The service was excellent. Food was great. But our coach Winston went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having the best experience possible! We can't wait for our next visit!!“
“This could be your go to sandwich shop, if you give it a try. The staff is very helpful, friendly......, as well as the rest of the Boy Scout law. Their breakfasts are also excellent. When family members come to visit, they ask to go to Huey's on the Square. As I often see people I know, it is a great gathering spot and several major newspapers are available to read at your leisure. All in all, this restaurant will take you back a little way in time (notice the tin ceiling) but it won't set you back financially.“
“This place is great. Went in and asked what I should get. Young lady behind the register was super nice and explained the dishes. Food was bomb. Got the beef sukhar, chicken sukhar, sambusa, and some beans and japati. Will get some goat or lamb next time and report back.“
“A really great brewery and kitchen with a spacious dining area. I went during happy hour and had the beer pretzels and BBQ beef grilled cheese and fries and was really, really happy with all of the food. The BBQ Beef Grilled cheese had a ton of meat on it and the bread was still crispy, it might be the best kind of plussed up grilled cheese I've ever had. I also tried three of the beers and they were uniformly really tasty; hazy IPAs and pale ales that were fruity and had just enough bitterness to stand up to the other flavors without being overbearing.I would also point out that the dining space is really large and inviting and the service was just great. I saw that they had a bunch of events coming up and I would definitely consider going to trivia or bingo or something. If I have one, very minor gripe, it was that all three beers, while tasting great, were a bit more similar than I would prefer. Truly a minor issue though and I will definitely be going back again in the future.“
“Very small but very clean and nice. Ordered to go. Food was fresh and hot and crisp. Got the beef pie...lovely pastry outer and very meaty filling, no veg filler, a little spicy, very tasty. Chicken strips were not drowned in batter, nicely fried. Fried shrimp were excellent, and fried okra not falling apart! The dinner roll was a lovely soft and sweet. Good quality, decent portions. Very Friendly capable staff.“
“Our waiter was outstanding - everyone was impressed with how efficient he was and how quickly the 36 of us were served. Our 18 UMKC Conservatory students love your hamburgers, and the salads were delicious, as well. That's why we keep having our spring Student/Advocate luncheons at the Grand Street. We will be back next March!Thank you -YvonneParking: I appreciate the availability of handicapped parking.“
“The food is a tad pricey for my personal budget but it is always very good and fresh. Their servers are very nice (Cy in particular) I come here with friends to play pool often, and it's never too busy when we go. This place is always clean and pretty cozy!I recommend their bread pudding.Parking: They have an okay sized parking lot, I usually don't have issues with it being full.“
“As a first time visitor I was truly impressed from the amazing customer service from the gentleman that was there to the food. Definitely the best wrap I have ever had, I am a big texture person and they hit it right on the head. I am going to be back to for “
“Enjoyed Blu Hwy for happy hour. Variety of menu options sampled for fair prices. It was all good but the items I had were not overly “inspired”. Wings were easy enough to eat but super saucy, salmon dip was an interesting surprise and not overly salmon heavy, deviled eggs were good enough and shareable.Cute atmosphere and decor.Staff was a bit “distracted” much of the time so moved from lounge table to bar but experience was the same.Probably need to visit again for a full perspective and try a broader offering.“
“We got there at 7:30 in a Saturday night with a party of 9. They asked if we would sit "outside", we agreed. It was all enclosed. It was a dance area. They were doing salsa lessons. It was fun, even for 3 Gen X non-Hispanics! I really liked my street tacos.“
“I happened to find this while I was driving through Kansas City. I saw the amount of people in the restaurant and knew this must be a good place to eat. I stoped and was very happy with my choice. The food was fantastic and the service was quick and pleasant.“
“Love the zany wall decorations and the service provided to us. Their calzones and smash burgers are the main reason to go. You can bet when im downtown im going here and it's worth the wait to do soVegetarian options: There are limited vegetarian options but what they have is labeled.“
“I love it! I had been dreaming about a staycation at the Loews for months! My hubby finally booked us a 1 night escape. We stayed in the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. It's gorgeous, clean, fancy but not threatening. I have to say my non cultured eye struggled to pronounce most of the menu but it didn't affect my wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was nothing short of spectacular. I had the duck ragu. It was the first time I ever had duck and it was one if the best dishes I have ever tasted. The menu changes every 3 months. That is exciting but also a bit sad as I would want the same dish over and over. I also had the Senor pumpkin to drink. Delicious. Not too sweet but sweet enough to be super yummy. Strong but didn't taste strong and just the right amount of bubbles. I want another right now. I'll be begging my hubby for another night out before the menu changes. For dessert we ordered the pumpkin swirl cheesecake. It was cool. Very small, nice presentation though. Served with caramel, whipped cream and a couple small mocha crisps (coffee beans covered in chocolate). It was underwhelming though after being blown away by the drink and entree if I'm being honest.“
“Lived in KC for 20+ years - finally decided to give this place a try. The western country decor with an original jukebox add a retro element to the dining experience. Do yourself a favor: order the City Fried Chicken! It was incredible. Also ordered a cup of chili and the Chicken Pot Pie, which is a seasonal item during the cooler months ? Lastly, they serve Dr Pepper & Pepsi products :)“
“We went here for a lunch date one day. I have never had Greek food before and I’m so glad we chose this place for me to try it! The food was amazing and the staff was so nice and answered all our questions. I have been craving their gyro’s since we left that day!“
“I worked there as a busboy in 67 & 68. My name is Brad Hughes and I live in Cottage Grove Mn. Ernie was the owner and everyone came there. Sugar Creek at that time was a great place to live when you were a kid. There were bars up and down Sterling all the parents were at the bars and us kids just hung out. Ernies was a great place to work as a kid. I remembering helping Hank behind the bar cleaning glasses to keep up having enough to serve. My Mom ran Jerry and Gary's greasy spoon down the road. The truckers would always stop in. Biscuits and Gravy was very popular back then. I hope to visit the area this summer and will for sure drop in.“
