“Lonnie's Reno Club serves up fantastic jazz with great food and a positive vibe. The staff is super friendly, and the food is top-notch. Trust me, you won't find an experience like this anywhere, and Lonnie's talent is unmatched. Definitely worth going – you won't be let down. We have been 4 times and will be back again soon. Every time is such a different experience. I really can't say enough great things about this show, it is my favorite and I have been to a lot of shows :)“
“THE BIG CHEESE!- Not the smash burger version. This was one of the best burgers I’ve had in KC recently. They have absolutely nailed the ratios. Specific descriptions: Ratios on this burger were excellent- the burger to bun size; width, height, and thickness, was perfect for a balanced bite. The type of bun they are using is soft, has a bit of texture on the outside, but also has enough spring to it that it does not get mushy or fall apart midway through the burger, or at all really. In fact, the structural integrity of the burger was better than any I’ve had lately- judging from first bite to last. The burger patty itself had a great sear on the outside, they really nailed the texture on this too. It’s got the sear slight crunch on the outside and then juicy on the inside. It was not at all greasy. The meat had great flavor and was not over salted- it was not bland either- they got the seasoning ratio right as well. I was skeptical about the arugula being too bitter for this burger. I was also skeptical about two slices of cheese being too much. I was wrong on both. The arugula is tossed with something that gives it just the tiniest bit of acid, this brightens it just enough to balance the richness of it. The American cheese they use is sliced thin, so using two slices is again just the right amount of cheese. The sauce they use on it complement the entire arrangement. Usually I will add sauce on anything. But not this burger. My dining partner mentioned they forgot to ask to leave the tomato off. Glad we didn’t. It was perfect in the bite mix. From the first bite to the last this was just an incredible burger eating experience. Their kitchen has absolutely got making a killer burger dialed in! The staff were very attentive and friendly. Speaking of adding sauces to things. The Brussels were good, but surprisingly I felt like the sauce on them was too much and made the Brussels soggy. The sauce is delicious, but a little of it goes a long way. Next time I will see if they are willing to put the sauce on the side and dip them instead. I also like that they have the small beer pours so I can try some of the local/ seasonal beers too. We will be back. Thank you!!!“
“A surprised diamond in the urban core of the city!!!! The atmosphere was clean, crisp, and upscale. The service was pleasant, attentive, and informative. The food specials were intriguing and danced on the palette like a ballerina! The halibut was perfect!!! I was expecting more of a showstopper from the lobster rolls although it had great flavors the garlic bread did not do it justice! The drinks and appetizers took the show! This is definitely a come again spot!!! And YES!!!! I didn’t mind saying Bloody Mary once, twice, and even three times!!!!!!“
“Food was really good. Service was quirky and attentive. My only complaint about anything was the lighting. They have weird blue lights that (see picture) make it difficult to read the menu and see the food. I had to guess a lot about the flavors. This was on the back patio. I'll be back but I'm bringing my glasses next time.“
“This place is tucked away but worth the discovery. The staff was excellent and went above & beyond to make the dinner special. Deliciously crafted dishes that tickle your tongue with flavor and texture. From the appetizers to dessert, Chef Ryan knows what he’s doing and we’re lucky he’s sharing his craft with Kansas City. Highly recommend.“
“I had the duck and a sake flight. It was delicious and the flight was super interesting. My husband had the salmon. The menu is more set up for sharing, but the 2 dishes we had were full servings. It's also farm table seating. Meaning long tables they sit multiple parties at.Service was wonderful. Atmosphere was stunning.Highly recommend reservations. We got the brownie dessert, this wasn't my favorite and really expensive for $15. The video is of the creme Brule (not the brownie)“
“A nostalgic environment. The menu is limited, but the food is excellent. Note that the menu slightly changes from week to week, or month to month or seasonly. So check their website. The artwork at the 21c was beautiful. And the TV was showing silent movies from the past. An excellent restaurant for dinner. We'll definitely be back.“
“If you need a place to impress someone, have a date night, or just a cozy comforting meal, Antler Room is THE place. Every dish is a slice of heaven, and the homemade pasta is to die for. The staff and atmosphere are always warm and inviting. GO... any chance you get!“
“We visited Blade & Timber for the first time (None of us had ever thrown an ax before) to celebrate our daughter's 17th birthday. The service was excellent. Food was great. But our coach Winston went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having the best experience possible! We can't wait for our next visit!!“
“it was sooo good! I ordered the "buff baby Mac n cheese" I believe it was called. It had buffalo sauce on it and two huge chicken tenders. the Mac n cheese itself has a great texture and the sauce was amazing and Oh my goodness the chicken tenders ? they were so crunchy. I really recommend this place if you like Mac n cheese and they're menu is small so there's not much contemplating, it's all quick and easy!“
“The food is a tad pricey for my personal budget but it is always very good and fresh. Their servers are very nice (Cy in particular) I come here with friends to play pool often, and it's never too busy when we go. This place is always clean and pretty cozy!I recommend their bread pudding.Parking: They have an okay sized parking lot, I usually don't have issues with it being full.“
“I made a reservation for the Garden Party as a date night, not quite knowing what to expect as it would be our first visit to Tom's. To our absolute surprise, it ended up being the highlight of our weekend. The Garden Party themed tasting room was a whimsical, classy, intimate setting where it was easy to hear across the table without any issue. Our server was incredibly professional and made the best drink recommendations better than any we'd had elsewhere in the city. We can't wait to revisit later this year to check out the new themes. Don't think twice about going, you've found your next date night.“
“Been living in the area for over 3 years and just made it to Niecie's recently. This place is an institution. It might have some of the best biscuits and gravy in town! If you want breakfast in Kansas City, or lunch, or dinner, it's worth a visit.“
“The Flying Horse Taproom is a neighborhood treasure. I came in regularly before they remodeled and revamped, and I liked it then. Now, I love it! First off, the service and the staff are excellent. Friendly, welcoming and efficient. . The flatbreads are my go to (the classic!) and they are the best. But, with the new menu, I've tried the chicken sandwich and the butter burger, both delicious. The Blue Grotto salad is very good as well. And, during happy hour you cannot beat the prices. I'm not a big beer drinker but I see people coming here all the time to taste the many beers on tap. When the weather is fair, the outside area is a wonderful place to enjoy with friends, and your pup. 5 stars all around for this gem!Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly. Lots of families here during the day time“
“I love it! I had been dreaming about a staycation at the Loews for months! My hubby finally booked us a 1 night escape. We stayed in the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. It's gorgeous, clean, fancy but not threatening. I have to say my non cultured eye struggled to pronounce most of the menu but it didn't affect my wonderful experience. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was nothing short of spectacular. I had the duck ragu. It was the first time I ever had duck and it was one if the best dishes I have ever tasted. The menu changes every 3 months. That is exciting but also a bit sad as I would want the same dish over and over. I also had the Senor pumpkin to drink. Delicious. Not too sweet but sweet enough to be super yummy. Strong but didn't taste strong and just the right amount of bubbles. I want another right now. I'll be begging my hubby for another night out before the menu changes. For dessert we ordered the pumpkin swirl cheesecake. It was cool. Very small, nice presentation though. Served with caramel, whipped cream and a couple small mocha crisps (coffee beans covered in chocolate). It was underwhelming though after being blown away by the drink and entree if I'm being honest.“
“Location: Downtown Kansas city MO Ambiance: bar restaurante, Jazz vibe. They offer live music several times a week. We went for brunch on a Sunday with live music Food: Amazing. I was expecting more bar quality food, I was surprised when they brought to our table this high-quality, well executed dishes. I highly recommend the skillet or the crab cake. Service: The best I've ever had in Kansas City. When I got there with my family, they were having a farewell celebration for the bartender that was leaving to California. One gentleman from the restaurant gave my mom a beautiful flower arrangement The server was always smiling and helpful. They brought us cake from the farewell event. The musicians were also smiling all the time and hi 5 us on our way to the exit. Yelp factor: This is the place to go if you are looking to experience Kansas City vibe, Food and music. I can't wait to go back there“
“Our waiter was outstanding - everyone was impressed with how efficient he was and how quickly the 36 of us were served. Our 18 UMKC Conservatory students love your hamburgers, and the salads were delicious, as well. That's why we keep having our spring Student/Advocate luncheons at the Grand Street. We will be back next March!Thank you -YvonneParking: I appreciate the availability of handicapped parking.“
“Concur, this is a friendly, even historic, watering hole in one of the original grand downtown hotels of KCMO. And thank goodness they didn't mess with the original woodwork and theme of the place. The neon sign outside is precious and should never be allowed to be messed with! Whether you're here to watch (or catch) a game or just hanging out with some pals for a nightcap, hard to beat this small venue away from the huge crowds some places downtown are seeking. I can keep coming back here just fine.“
“The food was excellent as were the cocktail and wine selections. The decor was fun and very well done. We loved the VW bus! Our waiter, Andrew, was fantastic and one of the best waiters we have had in several years. He was informative, honest and personable.“
“Had a great dinner. Food was on point. Pork shoulder was tender and flavorful, Service was up to par.Loved the design of the restaurant. Bucking the trend of open space restaurants with all hard surfaces that become echo chambers, Third Street has dividers, booths, etc that make conversation not only possible but enjoyable.tl:dr Great food, fine service, awesome atmosphere.“
“A large group of us stopped in here for lunch on a Saturday and had lunch. The Buffalo Chicken Flatbread was NOM. Hubs ordered a salad and we shared both of theses. For the money, it was good food. Drinks from the Taproom to finish it off. My only complaint is that they needed another person back there helping. Some of the folks didn't order because he was getting behind, and warned there could be a long wait. Bummer for them, that they missed out on good food. The guy puttin' stuff together was workin' hard and doin' a great job. He just could've used some help.“
“Lula is a great time. The vibe is fun and lively, service was on point even with the busy crowd. Their brunch and cocktail options are impressive. I had The Beekeeper cocktail which I absolutely loved.I love shrimp & grits and I’ve realized it’s a pretty good barometer for judging the food of the restaurant, so that’s what I went with. Great ingredients, the flavor of the grits was pretty good but they make it a little thicker than my liking. Shrimp was blackened which was decent but a bit on the dry side. My wife loved the chicken with the chicken & waffle and I liked the waffle more than she did so we had somewhat of a mixed review, but overall a great time and this is definitely a fun brunch spot.At least speaking for the weekend, be prepared for a pretty long wait (I recommend Tom’s next door while you wait).“
“We visited on Sunday morning a little past 10pm. We were greated and seated right away. The server was prompt and took our order shortly after. I ordered Chilaquiles ($18) but, I didn't order w/Steak ($9) but overall it was warm and delicious.“
“I worked there as a busboy in 67 & 68. My name is Brad Hughes and I live in Cottage Grove Mn. Ernie was the owner and everyone came there. Sugar Creek at that time was a great place to live when you were a kid. There were bars up and down Sterling all the parents were at the bars and us kids just hung out. Ernies was a great place to work as a kid. I remembering helping Hank behind the bar cleaning glasses to keep up having enough to serve. My Mom ran Jerry and Gary's greasy spoon down the road. The truckers would always stop in. Biscuits and Gravy was very popular back then. I hope to visit the area this summer and will for sure drop in.“
