Seated quickly.. greeted by all the staff as i walked to my table with the host..the general manager was cleaning a table helping his crew and spoke to me in a welcoming greeting manor! With in 3min of being in the building everyone had turned my bad day grumpy mood upside down! The food is amazing fast fresh delivery to the table! Amazing atmosphere! “On May 25th we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. The food and atmosphere was very nice. I will definitely go back but I do not want Adam as my waiter ever again. The issue that I have with Adam as our waiter is this. When he passed by our table my husband put his finger up letting him know that we needed him. He brushed my husband off and told him that he would be back and he went on to other tables. When he finally came back through he didn’t stop like he said he would he passed by our table and went to another table. At first I was like ok but it kept happening. And every time Adam passed by he looked right at me in my eyes. So now we’re ready to go so we’re waiting and waiting because he told us that he would be back. Well when he came back he passed us up again and eventually my husband had to stop him and give him the check. We gave him our payment with a $20 tip but at first I wasn’t going to leave one but I said no I’m gonna do what’s right. But now I regret even leaving it. After he walked off we waited and waited and I noticed him walking to another table he looked me right in my eyes. And my thought process was like ok we gave him the money now clear us out so we can go. Another waiter walked by because he noticed me looking for our waiter we told him what was going on and we asked him if he can let Adam know to please give us our receipt. Adam then walked straight from the table where the other customer was and gave us our receipt. I thought to myself he had it on him all this time why did he let us wait this long to give us the receipt we could’ve been gone? I was going to make a complaint when I walked out but I was like no I’m going to write a review because I was ready to go because I was very irritated at this point.”

“Pets, unless verified serve animals, were never supposed to be allowed in pelican (per posted signs “no pets allowed due to health dept codes”. Don Getty, prior mgr never enforced that rule jeopardizing the operation of the entire restaurant! I’ve seen monkies, chinchillas , and dozens of dogs illegally allowed in by don….. again, the health department could have closed pelican down for this!!! Don didn’t enforce any of the rules. New mgt does… we love Adrian!!!”

The food was freshly made and the flavor was beyond any expectation we could have imagined. Take it from someone who has dined in more than 25 foreign countries and all over the USA, this place has the ABSOLUTE best central and south American food in the state of MS, and possibly the entire south! 100% recommend without any reservations at all.. **NOTE, do not go here if you are an atmosphere snob! It is very much relaxed, and family centered with wonderful people running it. It is similar to an old country store with some tables and chairs. Try the Pupusas and the Jimaica tea, (hibuscus flower tea). you will not be disappointed in the flavors or the genuine people running this place.”

“I ordered a cake and chocolate covered strawberries for a baby shower on April 12, 2025. The cake was so beautiful, and the taste was just as great!! Unfortunately, I personally was not able to take pictures of the cake. Along with her establishment, Chanel was very sweet and kind, adding to the warmth felt from her establishment which is beautifully decorated. I will definitely be ordering cakes from her, especially other sweets from the great variety she offers!

“Another 5 star Tammie? Come on. Can it be that good? Yes. Yes it can. I passed this place on the way to get my windshield replaced. That was a nightmare. A review for another time but once I left the glass place I needed comfort food. I love kebab. A friend was married to an Iranian guy and I got hooked on kebab, basmati and warm flatbread. I go in prepared to break my no flour program but I saw the salads and realized that I wasn’t going to let the poor customer service experience at the glass place let me make bad choices. I was greeted by the sweetest young lady who offered to make recs for me before she left for my tea. I ordered the Lulu Greek salad add chicken shwarma. I asked her to keep the pita bread. Insert me sobbing here. It was hard but I did it. Man was that salad phenomenal. Chicken breast that had a nice crust on it but was not dry. Crisp vegetables. A delicious oil and vinegar based dressing. So much food. Excellent service. Very clean. Mediterranean music playing very low in the background. I cannot wait to return and try kebab with warm pita, rice and hummus but today my blood sugar thanked me for the good choices”

“I'm only here in the area on internship, so one of my missions is to try as many unique places as I can. This was a delicious breakfast that did not dissappoint. I was greeted promptly and offered a seat at the bar, and while I didn't order any special drinks, the bartender was very nice and made sure I had enough water to drink.
I ordered the Broken Egg Biscuit, which was the right choice - a delicious biscuit that exceeded expectations. I highly recommend this location.”

“I was driving my way into Mississippi to visit family and my sister asked me to pick up a cake, I randomly stumbled across this bakery because it was open late and it was on my way to her house. There were only a couple cakes left of the day and I was helped by the sweetest ladies and gentleman that could speak a little English. I Honestly thought the cakes that were displayed were fake because they were so beautiful and perfect. We celebrated his Birthday that night and it was the best cake I have EVER HAD!! If I lived closer I would be there all the time! I recommend my whole family! Thank you guys for making my nephews birthday yummy!”

“If Zeus ever threw down his thunderbolt and swapped it for a taco, it would definitely be a Taco de Birria. These tacos are so good, they could bring world peace. I took one bite and suddenly forgot all my life problems—student loans? Gone. Taxes? Who cares! All I needed was more tacos.

The birria is so tender, it's like they marinated it in unicorn tears and cooked it over the flames of a thousand phoenixes. The consomé? Oh, that’s the nectar of the taco gods. Dunk your taco in it, and you might as well be diving into a pool of pure bliss.

These tacos are the reason I wake up in the morning. They should come with a warning label: "May cause spontaneous dancing, excessive joy, and the uncontrollable urge to shout '¡Viva la Birria!' in public."

In conclusion, if you haven’t tried Tacos de Birria yet, your life is incomplete. Go now, and prepare to have your taste buds serenaded by the Mariachi band of flavor. 5 stars, because there aren’t enough stars in the universe to truly capture how amazing these are. ?”

“My wife and I stopped over in Ridgeland during a recent road trip back to Texas. Our hotel was very close and convenient to Sombra. So glad we tried this restaurant. After reading many negative reviews, we were totally blown away with the food quality and service. This was one of the best meals we've had the entire road trip. Evan was our server and was so courteous and accommodating during our visit. This is a must try restaurant if you are in the area. We cannot wait for our next visit. You will not be disappointed.”

I had the Sassy Scotty the first time and decided second time to get a scoop of it plus the Fruity Fran. Both are fantastic. The quality is consistent in both times I had the Sassy Scotty. Fruity Fran had the perfect mix to get the right amount fruit and chicken in each bite.
