“The restaurant was fine it’s the manager that is the reason I will never go back a member of our party ordered a dish she has eaten elsewhere when the dish came she did not like it and ordered another dish after tasting it when the bill came she asked to have it removed as she could not eat it the manager flat out refused to and would not even have a conversation about it her answer was NO and that was final. Never going back even if the meal was free”

Would carry my sister around while my parents ate. The owner I remember would always come and sit down with us and chat with my father. The birthday song came to my mind earlier and I'm so glad this restaurant survived the shut down! I really look forward to bringing my son here just like my father did me. “I've always heard incredible things about Walkers and had been wanting to try it for awhile, and I'm SO glad I did. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is even better! The fried lobster skewers were so tasty - I seriously wanted to order 5 more servings. Then, I had the wood grilled bone-in special. It was 22 oz, and I didn't think I would be able to eat it all, but it was so good I couldn't resist! I ate every piece of it, and still somehow had room for dessert. I tried their fried pie of the day which was some sort of mixed berry empanada with a vanilla glaze and sweet cream ice cream - SO SO GOOD! I'll definitely be back.”

The red sauce was rather sweet and the beef was tough and had a well flavored but watery sauce. Overall, it’s a nice place for a date night, but I would steer away from the pasta.”

“This is 100% my favorite coffee spot in Mississippi. I’m not a big coffee drinker, so I usually stick with an iced chai tea latte, and they make THE BEST one I’ve ever had. I work remotely, so occasionally I work from The Bean, and I usually order 2-3 chai lattes when I’m working there. (I’m truly obsessed with them) Plus their brunch/breakfast options are so good! The staff is always so friendly, too! Whenever someone asks for a local coffee spot, I always recommend them!”

“1st & foremost let me just start with the customer service that I received, hands down I wish I could give 10 stars. Everyone was so welcoming, even the cooks in the back were speaking. I honestly felt like I was at home with my people the energy was so good. Everyone was smiling and enjoying their job. Now on to the Big Kuntry love a good chew stamp of approval. That FRIED BROCCOLI gave me life! When I say it was cooked perfectly with a seasoned golden brown crust. Man say, my stomach was happy. For a girl who loves her some fried okra I must admit whatever seasoning they put on theirs definitely won me over. Now my wings I was a little nervous ordering the honey gold because everybody can't do it like Memphis but man oh man, THEY DID! I was impressed. And then there was the Flip sauce flavored wings that I let Flip talk me into trying and he didn't steer me wrong. I highly recommend them! I ordered a 10 piece but by time I returned to my hotel and got comfortable I wish I had ordered more. I will definitely be visiting again next time I am in Jackson.”

“Visited on a quiet Sunday evening with two other couples. The restaurant had an upscale vibe to it and it's bigger than you think. Very clean and bright. It's located in the heart of downtown Ridgewood, which has a beautiful main street with lots of mom and pop shops. You have to scan the barcode on the table to see the menu for the restaurant. Very sanitary. We began our meal with two orders of the fried calamari. Not enough fish and way too many cherry peppers. A bit disappointed. Our entrees included two cheeseburgers, two black bean burgers, and a cobb salad. The cheeseburgers were thick, juicy, cooked to perfection, and most importantly, it held up well in the bun. The black bean burgers were also thick and tasty from what I was told. The cobb salad was a very generous portion. The French fries were very good. Served hot and cooked fresh. Not greasy. Nice portion. I ate all mine and some of my wife's. The service was very good and friendly. Prices were competitive for the area. There was on street parking but your better off parking in a public lot.”

“I used to eat here with my parents over 40 years ago for special occasions. Next week will be my mom's 81st bday. I remembered that we had good memories there and invited her friends for a pre bday breakfast. It was such a peaceful atmosphere. We were greeted with such hospitality by every member of the staff. They treated my mom like royalty. Sat her at the head of the table, even sang to her. Then brought out a beautiful cake presentation to both our surprise. The food was AMAZING! The bathrooms were sparkling clean and smelled so fresh! Needless to say, new memories were made and will continue to be made! We went at 5pm 3-23-24. The food was out in no time, and it was hot and fresh. The atmosphere was great, and our waiter Sara B was amazing! The only thing was the apple alamode was not what I was expecting. The apple pie wasn't warm enough and the ice cream was soupy. We still give it an A+, 10/10. You honestly get what you paid for. “I was visiting from Chicago my brother and his wife during spring break and one of my nephews Tracy of Smith Barber College on Hosptial Dr in Jackson, MS took us to lunch, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, to Maxine’s Old Country Kitchen. The quaint restaurant is located on Macon St. Walking through the doors the ambience beckoned us in. We were greeted by beautiful wait staff serving everything you can imagine. Beef tips, smothered liver, hamburger steaks in gravy, turkey necks, baked and fried chicken, green beans, lima beans, black-eyed peas, cabbage, okra, rice and gravy, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, turnip and collard greens, yams, corn muffin, sweet potato pie, cinnamon roll and peach cobbler. I can say the food was ON POINT! Very delicious and I did not add salt or pepper. Seasoned very well. We really enjoyed ourselves and had food to take home for dinner. Also, there was sweet tea, lemonade and kool-aid to drink. I pray GOD continue to bless your business. A hidden gem~”

I had the sirloin & my husband had the parmason chicken. We had endless bread sticks coplametery, and we chose soup instead of a salad. The potato soup was awesome !!!”

We ordered the Texas fries and the food came out so quick that we got the appetizer with our meal, I didn’t have complaints aside from what was listed… oh we got margaritas and they weren’t very strong but still tasty. The fried lobster skewers were so tasty - I seriously wanted to order 5 more servings. Then, I had the wood grilled bone-in special. It was 22 oz, and I didn't think I would be able to eat it all, but it was so good I couldn't resist! I ate every piece of it, and still somehow had room for dessert. I tried their fried pie of the day which was some sort of mixed berry empanada with a vanilla glaze and sweet cream ice cream - SO SO GOOD! I'll definitely be back.”
