“I stopped in on business and got some fish bites while I was there. By far some of the best seafood I have had in the area. It tasted fresh and was perfectly cooked and seasoned. My plate came out hot and fresh. The service was fantastic. They have a nice backyard style seating area with plenty of shade for those hot summer days.“
“You MUST make a reservation on Monday & Tuesday. The buy one get one entrees are delicious. The shrimp and scallops pasta is a favorite with the country club crowd. If you like sushi, try the Yellow Fin Tuna, seared, medium rare. Mmm!Save room for dessert! Diners with gluten and dairy restrictions can enjoy a molten chocolate flourless cake.Free parking across the street. Go early for happy hour at the bar. The Island Grille is a culinary treat. (Make a reservation today!). Bon a petit!“
“This is a really nice and quaint restaurant right on a pier. The food is very good, fresh, and was prepared quite quickly! The service was very kind and attentive, everything about the place just exuded, calm, chill, beach vibes. It's a wonderful spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat after a long day fishing or on the beach. There is quite a bit of parking, as well.Today we have the conch fritters, hush puppies, a Cubano, and the smashburger. All were really good! Will definitely be back. ?“
“Visited Table 9 to celebrate a birthday. The food was excellent, as was the service. The music was exceptional and set the atmosphere for the evening. The only negative was the constant crying of a child in the restaurant. I will definitely return when I visit the area ago!!Parking: The handicap parking was directly in front. This made it easy for my 89 year old mom to get inside.Wheelchair accessibility: We didn't have a wheelchair but my mom uses a cane. The entrance was easy for her to maneuver.“
“Very nice dinner experience! We had reservations and our waitress, Shashel was great! Appetizers were calamari and their delicious bread. Husband had the lamb chops feature, I had fish/snapper tacos with delicious rice. Others in our party had steak, salad. Great time!“
“We had the fried shrimp, oysters and flounder with fries, hush puppies and slaw. The oysters were selects and cooked to perfection. The shrimp were about 21 count and the flounder were baby . The fry oil was fresh and the outside crisp and inside tender. The cook definitely knows his art. Staff are friendly and service excellent. A wonderful experience.“
“First time here, my wife and I. Lisa was our server, she was outstanding and had such a fun attitude and super helpful with menu questions. Love the atmosphere, looked great inside. Very spacious. The food was superb. Honestly. We got bang bang shrimp for an appetizer and then shrimp tacos for my wife and a flounder po’boy for myself. Being from Louisiana it gets my seal of approval. I honestly did not expect so much flounder on it. I wish had been hungrier than I was so I could have finished it, but hey leftovers are great. All in all, highly recommend this place and I can’t wait to come back with our kids.“
“Came to town for a day trip. We were looking for an ocean front restaurant and we found the perfect one! I got the Blackened Mahi Sandwich with onion rings (onion rings were a recommendation by our waitress). It was absolutely amazing. Whenever we are back in town we will be back!Parking: The parking right in front is very limited maybe 10 spaces. There is paid parking right next to the restaurant for the beach.“
“What an outstanding experience. From the moment we walked in we were greeted so enthusiastically and warmly, and we felt from that moment on that we were the most important customers in the restaurant. The folks who work here must be so carefully selected for their passion for hospitality and it really shines through. The atmosphere is just perfect; quiet, elegant, restful and comfortable. Our server, Gillian, could not have been more hospitable and accommodating. She was beyond patient and never rushed as she explained the extensive cocktail, wine and food menus and her knowledge of all was truly impressive. But above all else, her enthusiasm, attention to detail and ability to appear at just the right moments and, just as importantly, to leave us alone when not needed, was spot-on. Gillian is absolutely a people person, a people pleaser, and loves what she does. We will ask for her every time we return.Prime Bistro has a very creative and inspired cocktail menu full of fun drinks, and a very well thought out wine menu with some very good and comfortably priced selections. The menu is extensive, inspired, and very innovative. There are so many dishes we wish to try on a return visit. We started with a cheese charcuterie board and I have to say, where most restaurants who serve charcuterie boards present boards that are so sparse on feels shy picking for fear of taking too much from their fellow diner(s), this board was bountiful and filled with generous portions of four wonderful cheeses, a fig puree, baguette toast points, macadamia nuts and olives and by the time we had worked it over we feared we would have no appetite left for all the wonderful dishes still to come.We then enjoyed a Beet and Goat Cheese salad (wonderful) and a French Onion Soup--interesting, it had some sort of creative twist that tasted a bit off to me. Not my favorite FOS, probably wouldn't get it again. But, when you experiment with new things and celebrate an innovative chef, some new things will be wonderful discoveries and some might not hit the mark. We still all need to keep experimenting! We then enjoyed a pasta with a pork ragu and a pasta and scallop dish. Again, we found the former a little off for our liking but loved the latter. The pace was relaxed because Gillian observed we wished for that, but we were never, ever left waiting to gain Gillian's attention when we needed it.This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but it is truly a very good value nevertheless.; two cocktails, a modest bottle of wine, a charcuterie board, two appetizers and two entrees set us back $200 plus tip. Had we not ordered so liberally I would think most couples would come in under $200 with drinks. Not a weekly event for many people, but for some a very special occasion and for those of us more fortunate a wonderful tool in the toolbox to put in the rotation of our dining endeavors. We drove about 40 minutes from New Bern for the experience and have no regrets. We will be regulars in spite of the considerable commute, and we only hope Gillian and the rest of the truly wonderful staff will never tire of us.“
“This was by far one of my favorite dining experiences. I recommend making a reservation beforehand because of the size of the restaurant. Service was amazing! Very friendly host and hostess, and our server, PJ, was so nice, very knowledgeable about the menu, and gave great recommendations for food and beverages. I recommend the cheese plate and duck wings. The petite filet was cooked to perfection, and the desert sampler we ordered was so pretty I almost did not want to eat it! We will definitely be coming back here again!Parking: We parked over by the backstreet pub, there is a small parking lot across from the restaurant but I was not sure if it was reserved for another business nearby. Not a very far walk from any of the paid parking spaces nearby.“
“Banks Grill is my go to for brunch with the kiddos! This place really is a local gem. The menu is more sophisticated and varied than your average breakfast/brunch place. The beignets are our favorite - hot sweet little powdered sugar pillows. Trista is the best!! She always makes us feel so welcome, like we're family. Great job, Banks! Highly recommended ?Kid-friendliness: Trista makes my boys, ages 14 and 9, feel so special. She knows them by name and always asks them about school. The food is fabulous, but we would honestly come just to see Trista! My 9 year old loves to color the light house on the kids menu. The portions of the kids' meals are very generous.“
“What an awesome restaurant!!!! This is one of the best places I have eaten in a long time. Recommended by a family member and Captain’s Table did not disappoint. Every bit of food we got was perfect!!! Seafood to breakfast. I would highly recommend visiting them. I will be back very soon!!!!!“
“Excellent Soup-Of-The Day! Well prepared! Chef is present, noticed, with time spent, & attention to detail/ingredients used. Willing to accommodate larger groups, families, work related meetings/event, by even a last minute walk-in. Thank you! :)Dietary restrictions: Server says, it can be requested.Parking: Smaller parking lot but many surrounding businesses are available to shop, if you dually want to accommodate yourself to both visits (Harris Teeter is next door, & you can walk easily to it, with ease, short to walk to & from).Wheelchair accessibility: It's there.“
“What a cool spot! The service is excellent and the food was fresh and tasty. We're not huge fans of fried food so we wish there was an option for blackened or grilled on the flounder. They have a nice selection of IPAs and the place is straight up like a saloon!“
“FLOYD'S is exceptional! We sat on the lovely patio warmed by a fire. Our server was personable, prompt, informative and efficient. We all enjoyed the food and wine. I had the appetizer of Shrimp Napoleon. It was a large serving of shrimp, grits and a yummy gravy.I would highly reccommend!“
“We chose to celebrate our anniversary here and the pictures don’t do it justice. Incredible food, service and atmosphere. Butch went above and beyond and made sure everything was perfect for us! They had several specials that all sounded amazing. I would suggest the scallop BLTs, the risotto, the crab stuffed salmon. And make sure you save room for dessert! They also had the best coffee!“
“Many of our group had the supposedly, white clam chowder, which wasn't white and must have had a tomato base. Most of the group said it was far too hot. It surely wasn't what we expected. The rest of the meals were good, not exceptional.A high grade for the fish BLT, it was great.Parking: There is none. Very limited street parking.“
“Hands down, one of the best evenings we’ve had in years – spectacular cocktails, amazing menu options and stellar service. We were promptly seated on a recent Friday night and greeted by our server who immediately offered us a selection of the nightly drink specials – we opted for the Coconut Margarita and a Mescal Mojito, both were well-balanced and quite boozy. The evening’s dinner specials sounded awesome, and we chose the locally-caught Green Shrimp Pizza as our entrée, but started off with our server’s excellent appetizer recommendations; the Fried Arancini (Italian rice balls with risotto) of the day was served with a wonderfully balanced marinara and basil aioli sauce - perfectly fried, delicate and over the top. Our second appetizer, the Curried Fried Oysters, were one of the highlights of our meal – in a town where most of the seafood is imported and overly fried, Chef Cam’s local bivalves were plump and juicy, and perfectly paired with the Thai dipping sauce. This app could easily be a meal in itself! We decided to split a Spinach Salad for a small upcharge, but ended up wishing we had ordered two instead – the warm made-to-order bacon and egg vinaigrette was refined and a perfect light dressing for the sliced mushrooms, red onions and baby spinach. The meal’s pacing was flawless and our server was wonderfully attentive without being hovering. The timing gave us the opportunity to enjoy the eclectic atmosphere and watch gorgeous plates of food being delivered to nearby diners. The Edamame appetizer, served with multiple flavors of colorful sea salts was a huge hit at the table next to us. The Rosemary-rubbed Lamb Chops and Chicken Pho was also quite popular with the guests seated next to us. Our gorgeous pizza arrived hot and bubbling - the sourdough crust was perfectly charred and had a nice chew, and held up under the weight of the expertly fired green tail shrimp, garlic sauce and basil aioli. The pizza was certainly big enough for two people to share. We’re excited to return and try some of the other protein options, including the steak and Tuscan-style Shrimp pasta. Don’t miss this place – rarely do you find Charleston and Chicago-esque dining in southeastern North Carolina that offers this much attention to flavor and presentation.Parking: Street parking and a large lot nearby“
“Great food, great atmosphere, excellent wait staff. my only real complaint is that anytime anyone walked behind me the floor would bounce. (Nothing they can do I know I used to do framing) oh and it seems like you only get 1 bottle of water a meal (I drink a lot of water) I've never been somewhere that put soo much effort into how the food looks. It is nice“
“The Beaufort Grocery is my favorite restaurant in Beaufort, NC. I visit Beaufort for work and always eat at this wonderful restaurant. I also bring back to Tampa the Gouda cheese spread. I start with the cheese spread and see what specials they have. Last time I stuck with the Pan-Seared Duck Breast but you can't go wrong with anything they serve. They have a tiny bar but will make you anything you want. Service is fantastic! Wish I could visit for brunch!“
“Finally stopped and tried Snapperz. We got thr bisque and blackened Mahi sandwiches. A cup of the bisque was big enough to share and was excellent. The Mahi was seasoned just right and cooked perfectly. The server was fantastic. Well worth the stop.“
“You have to sit at the bar for the best service. Food is GREAT, The group of us (12) all tried something different. Complements on EVERY DISH. Beer was good, definitely the spot if you are looking to try Shortway brewery with food. Recommend a visit. Pool & slots a plus.“
“It's a favorite spot of mine. Food is really good. Service is even better. Most importantly, their price-to-portion ratio is perfect. Very reasonable prices for waterfront eating, and they don't jip you on quality & quantity. These are the makings for sustained success.Oh, lastly, they constantly have live music. They're tough to beat yall. Go check em out ?“
“We had an amazing dinner here! The menu is robust with many options to choose from. The service was quick and attentive. The seafood bisque is a must-have--super creamy with tons of lump seafood in it. Other tables had salads that looked huge and delicious, I'd like to try one next time! As my husband said, "this is the best food we've had at a restaurant down here!"“
“We had the best time! Will was our server and his recommendations were on point and did not disappoint in the slightest. The food was so good, but the service truly set it apart from other places in the area.Dietary restrictions: We had someone in our party with an extreme shellfish allergy and they were super accommodating.“
“We loved Blackbeard! The food was delicious. The Oysters Rockefeller and Parmesan crusted oysters appetizers were great for sharing and very tasty. The fried shrimp and scallops were a nice size, not overly breaded, crispy, and delicious. The ahi tuna was absolutely incredible. If it is on special, I recommend ordering it. The seafood bisque is creamy, rich, and flavorful. Not pictured is the ribeye. It was seasoned, cooked, and seared perfect. A special shout out to Carol, our waitress for the fantastic service. She was very friendly offering great suggestions with the menu, our food was served hot, and our drinks were never empty.“
“Food was great. Server looked confused when I asked was their slaw red (bbq) or white. Had to wait an extra 10 minutes, after we got our food, then I went and asked for the chili dog I ordered and hadn't got yet. But it was lunchtime. Look forward to coming back on our trips to here. Thanks for great food. Just the right spices.“
“Had the BEST experience tonight with our waitress, Hannah! She was attentive, gave us great recommendations, and provided a wonderful experience for our family that was dining from out of town. The food was incredible and the dessert was out of this world! Also so, so happy they were so accommodating with my food allergies.Thank you for a great experience!Dietary restrictions: Shellfish allergy, nut allergy“
