“I like a standard breakfast and for me, I went with the special All American breakfast platter with two pancakes eggs to my liking, I did scrambled eggs, home fries, sausage (or bacon or ham), and their famous grits. The pancakes were light and fluffy and soaked up the whipped butter and syrup. My eggs were scrambled to perfection. The sausage was a standard sausage patty pretty good. The home fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with out being overdone well seasoned with a seasoning salt that brings us to the grits. They were creamy with a touch of salt, in short really delicious. It was nearly the perfect breakfast and I felt at home and well taken care of. This place has quite a wait sometimes which we know only means it’s really good. I’ll be back next time I’m in Morehead City for sure.Parking: In a strip mall so plenty of parking“
“What an awesome restaurant!!!! This is one of the best places I have eaten in a long time. Recommended by a family member and Captain’s Table did not disappoint. Every bit of food we got was perfect!!! Seafood to breakfast. I would highly recommend visiting them. I will be back very soon!!!!!“
“Excellent Soup-Of-The Day! Well prepared! Chef is present, noticed, with time spent, & attention to detail/ingredients used. Willing to accommodate larger groups, families, work related meetings/event, by even a last minute walk-in. Thank you! :)Dietary restrictions: Server says, it can be requested.Parking: Smaller parking lot but many surrounding businesses are available to shop, if you dually want to accommodate yourself to both visits (Harris Teeter is next door, & you can walk easily to it, with ease, short to walk to & from).Wheelchair accessibility: It's there.“
“Hands down, one of the best evenings we’ve had in years – spectacular cocktails, amazing menu options and stellar service. We were promptly seated on a recent Friday night and greeted by our server who immediately offered us a selection of the nightly drink specials – we opted for the Coconut Margarita and a Mescal Mojito, both were well-balanced and quite boozy. The evening’s dinner specials sounded awesome, and we chose the locally-caught Green Shrimp Pizza as our entrée, but started off with our server’s excellent appetizer recommendations; the Fried Arancini (Italian rice balls with risotto) of the day was served with a wonderfully balanced marinara and basil aioli sauce - perfectly fried, delicate and over the top. Our second appetizer, the Curried Fried Oysters, were one of the highlights of our meal – in a town where most of the seafood is imported and overly fried, Chef Cam’s local bivalves were plump and juicy, and perfectly paired with the Thai dipping sauce. This app could easily be a meal in itself! We decided to split a Spinach Salad for a small upcharge, but ended up wishing we had ordered two instead – the warm made-to-order bacon and egg vinaigrette was refined and a perfect light dressing for the sliced mushrooms, red onions and baby spinach. The meal’s pacing was flawless and our server was wonderfully attentive without being hovering. The timing gave us the opportunity to enjoy the eclectic atmosphere and watch gorgeous plates of food being delivered to nearby diners. The Edamame appetizer, served with multiple flavors of colorful sea salts was a huge hit at the table next to us. The Rosemary-rubbed Lamb Chops and Chicken Pho was also quite popular with the guests seated next to us. Our gorgeous pizza arrived hot and bubbling - the sourdough crust was perfectly charred and had a nice chew, and held up under the weight of the expertly fired green tail shrimp, garlic sauce and basil aioli. The pizza was certainly big enough for two people to share. We’re excited to return and try some of the other protein options, including the steak and Tuscan-style Shrimp pasta. Don’t miss this place – rarely do you find Charleston and Chicago-esque dining in southeastern North Carolina that offers this much attention to flavor and presentation.Parking: Street parking and a large lot nearby“
“Parrot's on Eleventh has become my number one restaurant in Morehead City. Atmosphere and food was phenomenal, we went out with two couples and every guest at the table said the same thing, "Food was excellent, top notch". I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Carteret County NC. The host was pleasant and very welcoming, our waitress Lorrie was wonderful and knowledgeable about all the options on the menu. Our overall experience was a 5 star.“
“Great food, great atmosphere, excellent wait staff. my only real complaint is that anytime anyone walked behind me the floor would bounce. (Nothing they can do I know I used to do framing) oh and it seems like you only get 1 bottle of water a meal (I drink a lot of water) I've never been somewhere that put soo much effort into how the food looks. It is nice“
“Finally stopped and tried Snapperz. We got thr bisque and blackened Mahi sandwiches. A cup of the bisque was big enough to share and was excellent. The Mahi was seasoned just right and cooked perfectly. The server was fantastic. Well worth the stop.“
“We have dined at Floyd's several times while visiting the area and have always had a nice experience, good food and service. But, our visit last week, 3/14, was not what we expected. The food quality was sub-par, the shrimp size was far smaller than we have experienced in the past, the fish served with the fish and chips was under cooked and soggy inside and the shrimp and grits was bland. And, the prices are just too high to justify the food quality and serving sizes.Add to this a waiter who was very uninformed about the menu, was slow to respond with drink refills and other requests, and generally talked too much, mostly about himself and his girlfriend. Overall a very disappointing visit and one that will probably cause us not to risk a return trip anytime soon, sorry to say.“
“We love this restaurant and went Feb 10 have been there several times. We always order calamari and apparently they cha get the sauce to sweet and spicy from marinara. Please switch it back this was not good. I also ordered tuna tacos and that sauce has been changed as well. Sad because we love this restaurant. We will def be back just won't order our favorites. The staff is amazing and spot on.“
“It's a favorite spot of mine. Food is really good. Service is even better. Most importantly, their price-to-portion ratio is perfect. Very reasonable prices for waterfront eating, and they don't jip you on quality & quantity. These are the makings for sustained success.Oh, lastly, they constantly have live music. They're tough to beat yall. Go check em out ?“
“What an outstanding experience. From the moment we walked in we were greeted so enthusiastically and warmly, and we felt from that moment on that we were the most important customers in the restaurant. The folks who work here must be so carefully selected for their passion for hospitality and it really shines through. The atmosphere is just perfect; quiet, elegant, restful and comfortable. Our server, Gillian, could not have been more hospitable and accommodating. She was beyond patient and never rushed as she explained the extensive cocktail, wine and food menus and her knowledge of all was truly impressive. But above all else, her enthusiasm, attention to detail and ability to appear at just the right moments and, just as importantly, to leave us alone when not needed, was spot-on. Gillian is absolutely a people person, a people pleaser, and loves what she does. We will ask for her every time we return.Prime Bistro has a very creative and inspired cocktail menu full of fun drinks, and a very well thought out wine menu with some very good and comfortably priced selections. The menu is extensive, inspired, and very innovative. There are so many dishes we wish to try on a return visit. We started with a cheese charcuterie board and I have to say, where most restaurants who serve charcuterie boards present boards that are so sparse on feels shy picking for fear of taking too much from their fellow diner(s), this board was bountiful and filled with generous portions of four wonderful cheeses, a fig puree, baguette toast points, macadamia nuts and olives and by the time we had worked it over we feared we would have no appetite left for all the wonderful dishes still to come.We then enjoyed a Beet and Goat Cheese salad (wonderful) and a French Onion Soup--interesting, it had some sort of creative twist that tasted a bit off to me. Not my favorite FOS, probably wouldn't get it again. But, when you experiment with new things and celebrate an innovative chef, some new things will be wonderful discoveries and some might not hit the mark. We still all need to keep experimenting! We then enjoyed a pasta with a pork ragu and a pasta and scallop dish. Again, we found the former a little off for our liking but loved the latter. The pace was relaxed because Gillian observed we wished for that, but we were never, ever left waiting to gain Gillian's attention when we needed it.This is not an inexpensive restaurant, but it is truly a very good value nevertheless.; two cocktails, a modest bottle of wine, a charcuterie board, two appetizers and two entrees set us back $200 plus tip. Had we not ordered so liberally I would think most couples would come in under $200 with drinks. Not a weekly event for many people, but for some a very special occasion and for those of us more fortunate a wonderful tool in the toolbox to put in the rotation of our dining endeavors. We drove about 40 minutes from New Bern for the experience and have no regrets. We will be regulars in spite of the considerable commute, and we only hope Gillian and the rest of the truly wonderful staff will never tire of us.“
