“They took it upon themselves to go out and start giving out salads and pizza to people Friday night after the storm. Since we were traveling and had no clue this was coming for us we were not prepared. This put me at ease knowing I got something to eat since I had no idea when I would eat next or even get out to go home. Thank you so much for opening your business during this crazy time.”

“Went for oysters and very disappointed. The shucker poured the juice out of shell so the VA points tasted bland. Had a few shell fragments which I was fine with. Only wish I'd had the full experience for 28.00 per dozen. Gumbo was delicious.”

“Pretty decent spot. 100% a dive bar. Pretty small. Decent patio out back. Cash only - come on bar owner, don't make us suffer bc you cheat your taxes!! My only real complaint was that the beers on tap were a little flat and probably at the highest temperature that could still be considered "cool". Is luke cool a thing. If it's not, it should be - cause luke cool is really the best way I can think to describe it. I thought the prices were fair. And I was pleasantly surprised to even find a place in black mountain open past 9 or 10 on a Wednesday and still serving beer. I'd definitely go back if I had occasion again while in Black Mountain.”

“We found this gem by accident and were really glad! The garlic parm wings were crispy and flavorful. Don't miss the Cajun fries with the most delicious homemade ketchup. And if they have their special fried bread pudding, get it you won't be sorry! The service was friendly and fast. Thank you for a great experience!”

“I ordered the Roast Beef with au jus through Doordash. Everything is DELICIOUS, especially the freshly baked rolls :3 The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I find the roast beef to be a bit too salty. However, it's made in house, and from my knowledge, it's traditionally cured with lots of salt? Just have a big glass of water with ya if you order this sandwich.”

The ginger molasses cookies we bought were perfect in every way and exactly what we were craving! As we got back on the highway, my husband said that the cookies made the whole stop worth it! “A great coffee shop located inside Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain. You do have to be attending an event or staying on campus to enjoy the coffee shop. They have an excellent selection of drinks and snacks too.”

“We came to Bowl in the Wall for the first time today and loved it!! First, the atmosphere is so good!! Tucked in to the ruins of an old building with outdoor tables and super cute bar. We got beers and two bowls for us, and they even had a bowl for our dog Dudley!! If you haven’t been, you need to check it out. Good beer, Great Food, Fun atmosphere!!”
