“Service was great. Burritos were huge. Flavor left something to be desired. My friends got chorizo and it was a little lackluster and mushy. Outdoor seating is very nice. Drinks are reasonably priced. They put a mix of flour and corn tortilla chips in the nachos and chips with salsa. Flour tortillas had an interesting texture - very crispy and flakey.“
“First time here last night after a concert at Cats Cradle, everything else was closed in that area for food. Service was nice and quick....but the food ?was even better! I hate I live almost two hours away. I will be dreaming about that barbacoa quesadilla for the rest of the weekend. I can't wait to come back that way and try again.“
“I'd rank the food high among the Mexican food I've had in the area. There's also a small market inside with local goods and fresh meat and produce. Wait was a bit long for what I ordered. They have seating inside with TVs but not a ton of natural light.“
“Real deal tacos. Call in your order in advance. I've ordered from here 10 times in the past year, almost always Chorizo, cilantro, cebolla, and salsa picante. Superb. Fresh. Delish. The best I've had on the east coast. Bring your own tailgate. Parking-lot atmosphere added bonus... or head to Dingo Dog brewery across the street for something hoppy to rinse 'em down.“
“My husband and I are former restaurant owners. He is a trained chef and I have waited tables in more restaurants than I can count. We also travel to Mexico a lot. Monterrey has been our favorite Mexican restaurant for years because they believe in excellent service, high quality food, and a festive atmosphere. It is is a pleasure to have dinner at Monterrey. It is clearly one of the most well-run restaurants in the area. If I could give it 10 stars, I would.“
“A bit inconsistent, but when it's good, it's really, REALLY good. They make their tortillas (and chips) fresh, too. They also made the first buffalo wings I ever ate, and I've never had any that come close. Careful though, this food doesn't travel well. Eat it in the restaurant.“
“Second visit. Was a little disappointed in the food this time. Previously had one the their delicious bowls. This time I ordered an arepa and an empanada. Both were dry, and the ratio of fillings to dough was off. Might try them one more time.“
“The food is delicious! Everything! We ordered chorizo queso and it was so good we ordered another one. The chips and salsa are too good! We had the birria quesadilla with consume and it was top tier!! Steak fajita quesadilla with rice very good and the kids chicken quesadilla with fries. Next time we will skip the fries because the rice is so flavorful! We recommend and will absolutely return! Staff was friendly and works quickly!“
“First time dining here and it was an excellent experience. Out the gate, happy to see a 99.5 score. It look like it might have been recently renovated with beautiful tiles and unique finishes to the wall.We were greeted and seated right away, midday. Our waitress took our order and brought out chips and drinks next. (Thank you for not making the salsa spicy. It was mild with good flavor and we each got a bowl for dipping). The food came out maybe 10-15 minutes later, hot and fresh!I tried the Monterey Sampler: beef taquitos, chicken quesadilla and bbq wings. The taquitos used a tender shredded beef brisket with green peppers. The quesadilla was stuffed with tender slices of seasoned chicken and had a light layer of cheese. The wings were fried perfectly and had a thick tangy bbq sauce. Even the celery sticks were crisp and fresh to dip in tasty ranch dressing.Throughout our meal we were checked on for assistance and to ensure satisfaction.I honestly wished I could’ve left a big tip but was low on cash. State employee so I hope my review brings them plenty of new customers.Wheelchair accessibility: There were tables and low curb/ ramp near entrance with open lobby area.“
