“We had to spend an overnight in Charlotte near the airport and we found the perfect place to eat. Big selection of Latin American food with excellent seafood choices. The staff was very pleasant, the calamari were fresh and the steak perfectly cooked and seasoned. Loved the yucca and maduro plantains.“
“The food was great …. I Order 2 plates of oxtails Mac n cheese yams trust me definitely worth the price …. I didn’t care for the greens maybe bc I’m used to the pork flavor and the vanilla cake was not giving I’m just been honest. I’m open to trying to trying the other 2 choices of desserts but yeah overall will order again“
“I live in Columbia SC, for work reasons, I go to Charlotte NC once a month, since I went to Los Reyes the first time, I have become accustomed to going to eat there every time I go to Charlotte NC, very good food and very good customer service.“
“Very authentic tasting roti and doubles. The food was great especially for someone who has had their fair share of Caribbean eats. The rotis remind me of a bajan roti, like what chefette used to sell you back in the 90s. THE BUILDING IS NOT A RESTAURANT! If you go pick this up, don't worry as the building is a multi use ghost kitchen for lots of DoorDash style delivery only foods. The food will have you saying cawblemma“
“I ordered an oxtail patty and jerk chicken Rasta pasta! Everything was sooooo good! The food was fresh and service was great. The portions were perfect (not too much and not too little). I placed my order online and it was ready within 15 minutes. I will be ordering from here again.“
“Best Jamaican Experience in the city. If you looking for good food and good customer service.. You need to Run not walk to Don's Jamaican Kitchen. I had the jerk chicken and curry goat with rice, cabbage and plantains. Sooo good, everything was perfectly seasoned, good portion sizes. It took me back to when I traveled to Jamaica. Will definitely be back.“
“Let me start by saying the food does not disappoint at this restaurant. The rice & Peas taste like authentic Jamaican cuisine like when in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I'm vegan so I can't vouch for any meat dishes with curry or jerk, but the chickpea curry is quite tasty and is coconut milk based. You can order it spicy upon request which adds the best flavor in my opinion. I can eat the spinach patties all day. They are delicious. The cabbage and greens are okay. I've referred others to order at a conference in Charlotte and they loved the curry and Jerk chicken.I've only ordered via doordash, but I'm a frequent shopper. The only thing I dislike is that often I have to remove meat pieces from my rice which is annoying ? since I'm vegan but I am conscious of it when I order now. I understand sometimes meat pieces might fall in when scooping up other dishes by it so I'm not extremely concerned since I know it wasn't cooked with meat.I would highly recommend this restaurant.Vegetarian options: You can order veggie patties, rice & Peas, greens, cabbage, chickpea curry.“
“I just walked in after a doctor's appointment because I was hungry. Let me tell you how AMAZING the customer service is (I haven't even eaten the food yet lol). The worker was by herself and was an amazing host. She helped me order from the menu as this is my first time visiting. She was so polite to a little child who accidentally spilled his juice. She immediately went to help the family clean up the spill and said "it's ok, I have uh-oh's sometimes too" with a smile on her face. Then she came back behind the counter to finish taking my order and apologized for my wait. She greeted every guest with a smile as they came in. She was very warm and welcoming. Stop by and experience it for yourself.UPDATE: The fries and wings taste GREAT!!! The only thing I would change is ask for them to be fried extra crispy next time.“
“Great food. The jurk wings are very tender yet crispy and grilled but yes always really well marinated. I real liked the wings. We also got a curry chicken. It was also very good. Both items were cooked low and slow. The sides were good too. I would come back. When we went to pick up the food the place was clean and the people there were friendly.“
“I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional staff and management at Punta Cana Restaurant. Every time I am in town, it is my first destination. The quality of the food is unparalleled, and their fresh ceviche, featuring shrimp and octopus, is unmatched by any other restaurant I have encountered from the East Coast to the South. I highly recommend visiting and mentioning my review. They truly deserve recognition.“
“It’s been a while since I came to this place and I’m glad I did! I had pernil with yucca and rice with black beans. They didn’t had arroz with gandules which is my favorite but the food was delicious!! Totally recommend it. They offer a lot of different meat options like pork, beef, chicken, etc and side dishes. Employees were friendly and helpful. Will be back soon!!“
“My first time visiting QC Roti Shop was a cool experience. With the help of a friendly staff member (over the phone, it's a ghost kitchen) I ordered a curried chicken roti with pumpkin and spinach. It was absolutely delicious, the portion was filling and more than generous. I'll definitely go back soon... Shrimp Roti up next!!!“
“My first time here and my first time experiencing Jamaican food. Everything was incredible delicious- we had the shrimp appetizer, the cod fish and plantains, shrimp curry, oxtail and jerk chicken. Server did an excellent job explaining the menu items and making recommendations for first timers. Highly recommend a visit to this quaint little restaurant!“
“Good afternoon fellow Yelpers! It's your favorite Elite Member with yet another dive into my experience. My company sent my crew to Charlotte, NC for the week. I narrowed my search to Carribbean food and this place (with reviews) caught my attention. I navigated the crowded streets of Charlotte & arrived to my destinstion. I entered, a d it took anout 2-3 minutes for the worker to come to the counter and take my order. It was not crowded at all; I was the ONLY customer. The atmosphere was quiet; no music or normal chatter of workers or customers. After ordering what I wanted, I was corrected about what was available. I ended up with: Oxtails (overcooked; highly disappointed), Cabbage (awesome) & Rice & Beans (perfect). I would try this place again if more workers, people and full menu was available. Wasn't the best, definitely not the worst. I apologize for not providing pictures, I was extremely hungry; borderline hangry“
“The restaurant was not busy and there was not any movement going on but all of the things to have a great time were in place. There were pool tables, music, seating and great authentic food. We were greeted positively when we walked in and the person who took our take out order was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The jerk chicken with rice and peas, Mac, and plantains was the best we've had in Charlotte. So was the fried red snapper with yams, rice and peas, and plantains. The snapper was delicious with the rice and peas and I had spicy jerk sauce to top it off. A nice find in a quiet neighborhood. Looking forward to going back.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options were plentiful and just as delicious as the other options.“
“*Overpriced American Pot Pie with Caribbean seasonings aka El Puro's Empanadas* ▪︎ Order - I only ordered 4 empanadas (2 chicken and 2 beef) to take to-go. They gave me 4 beef. ▪︎ Price - $16 + tax for 4 empanadas (for that price I expect food to taste like back in the island). ▪︎ Food - 2 out of 5 stars. Whoever is giving high stars must be social media influencers or people that don't know how food criolla should taste. Starting with the dough, it was puffy on the outside and chewy inside. The meat was mushy and watery like what American chicken pot pie looks like. The flavor was lack luster. The audacity to present those as what Cubans make was sad, especially with the TONS of really good authentic Hispanic foods on the same road. ay no.“
