“It was a first time dining here . We choose BBQ . Great service , excellent fresh meat, seafood , and veggie options. And it was a fun an exciting experience. Our waiter explained everything to us , and was very attentive. We are planning on trying the hot pot soup on a cold wintery day.”

“Hubby wanted Blooming Onion; but we had trepidation at eating at this location based on prior experiences (before current proprietor). We were VERY pleasantly surprised. We had minimal wait even though host said they had been “crazy busy” and expected more large groups shortly. Pressley, our waitress, was prompt, professional, communicated well, was attentive (without attitude) when I asked to talk to manager before ordering (due to food allergies) as well as throughout our meal and getting us out, even offering to-go beverages. Alyssa, the manager on duty was awesome discussing food preparation and easily reassured me, as well as supervised/assisted in kitchen. We initially saw her cleaning dining area, not knowing that she was manager, as entire staff was working as team and well oiled machine to assure a really clean dining area, as well as restrooms. My hubby got his Blooming Onion and 1/2 rack smoked ribs and could not stop with glowing praise for his meal. I had Alice Springs Chicken that was even better than I had at one of my favorite Outback locations last week for our anniversary! Overall, restaurant sound was quiet enough for us to talk to each other easily, despite large family groups & TVs in bar. Staff’s demeanor was calm and upbeat making dining experience quite pleasurable. Never expected to be writing this 5star review today; So, keep up the good job manager Alyssa!”

“Two weeks! It has been 2 weeks since my spouse and I visited this restaurant for our first time, and I can't stop thinking about how good it was. The food, atmosphere, and staff were all excellent. I fully intend to visit NC Spices again this week.

The only disclaimer I would make is that the food comes out hot! I may have been a little over-eager and burned my mouth a little, but I only blame myself. Even after my first- bite-lesson-learned, I can't justify removing any stars from this exceptional experience. If you have never been here, you should. And if you're wondering if you should come back, the answer is "yes!"

Our leftovers on day 2 were equally impressive.

“We came in for brunch with a big party to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The “party room” was set up beautifully and the staff had the tv set to a lovely video playing of a fireplace. We were able to decorate to our liking with decorations we purchased to top off the already lovely space. While the restaurant was extremely busy, the staff was attentive and made sure our every need was met. The food was outstanding as always. Special thank you to the bartender and manager for a fabulous morning of brunch and bubbly to celebrate our dear one.”

“I really hope this place does well and stays here. A friend and I enjoyed the food very much, and the entire staff was welcoming, accomodations, and sweet. The place is on 10th street, across from Villa Verde, which is a location that has a high turnaround, however, my friend and I were absolutely blown away. The free ceviche con crispy tortilla was so fresh and delicious. They have chips and salsa too, if you want, and the salsa is top notch. Our main courses were terrific 10/10. We both hope this place stays here forever.”

“First time coming here for our best friend's birthday celebration. And omg! The sushi was absolutely amazing and very decent price for an all-you-can-eat. Marley, I believe that was her name; was just on point with service. From bringing our drinks, taking our orders, clearing our table from the empty plates we kept accumulating and to ordering more entrées that we wanted to try. The staff was also very great in bringing our dishes. Still though, the food is incredibly delicious!”

“Came in on a Wed, visiting my daughter at ECU. Food and service were wonderful. I had the French onion soup with a house salad. Your White Balsamic dressing is the best and the French onion never disappoints. Service was quick, efficient and very friendly. Always try to stop in when I'm in town 😁”

“Pitt Street is our favorite place to spend time with friends or unwind after a long day! The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, giving great recommendations from the large menu. I really appreciate the non-alcoholic options available, too. The space is inviting, indoors and out. We’ve been going for years now and it’s easy to see their commitment to being a place that fosters community for all. Many places like this focus solely on alcohol and music, but the event calendar is always unique and full. I think there’s even a book club? If you’re new to the area or haven’t been out in a while, come make some new friends. 🙂”

“We drove a little over and hour to try Hook & Reel and it was definitely worth it. We did the all you can eat. The seafood was very fresh and cooked perfectly. We tried the seasoned garlic butter mild at first but was not spice, so the next platter I ordered spicy and it was perfect. It’s honestly hard to find good crawfish and this is the place hit the spot. Service is quick to take your order and the food comes right out. Highly recommend Hook & Reel if you’re craving seafood! The only thing I believe could use some tlc is the restrooms.”

“I visit wasabi88 often and I’ve never had a bad experience. I came in this past Wednesday and WOW. I can’t even begin to explain how impressed I was. Our server let us know from the beginning that they were short staffed and he was the only server there. At this time they were not very busy but the people were coming in steady. I was worried that we’d have long wait times on food and drink refills but to my surprise, the food was just as good as it always is, drinks stayed refilled and service never suffered. This young man nailed it by the end of our meal I was seeing more staff on the floor helping out so I’m to assume they got more people in to work but the restaurant only had 3 tables left empty and again no guests seem to be suffering from bad service. It appeared to be running as if they had full staff. This server was absolutely fantastic and the food quality was once again top notch. I already cant hardly wait to come back.”

He cares about his customers and works his rear off to give you the best and healthiest product possible. My faves are solar flare and granddaddy grapefruit, but they are all delicious and so good for you!”

“It's a busy place, you don't need a reservation. The only thing I don't like is that they put everyone at a single table together with more tables and places available. I understand that it is because the cook prepares the food in front of you but at least there should be space between diners. The prices are somewhat high but it is understood that it is because of the show of the cook in front of you to prepare the food. Plus he talks and makes you laugh. Yes I recommend it but it is not a place to go every day.”

“1st off, this isn't Donatos Pizza it's Red Robin. Second, my review is a very different one compared to previous times of being here. The food was off. So, maybe a different chef. The waiter was not good at all. He took our order and didn't bring out the 1st of 2 appetizers we ordered. When I asked him a good 10 minutes later, if the app was coming out, he said, "Yes, let me go see. Then, someone else came out to ask if we wanted the app since we canceled it previously. Which, of course, we didn't cancel it at all. So, that was already a miss. Then, after waiting even more time, our food came up. He seemed to offer to get drinks refilled or more fries, which all was great. We don't know if he was having an off, not, or maybe he had a lot of tables. We were busy talking, so we didn't see how many tables he served. It's all good. The food was off, totally not their norm. We normally have a great experience at Red Robin. We drive over 30 minutes away to eat here because of their food and service.”

“I was skeptical about trying Smoothie King based on previous ratings, but I’m glad I did. I haven’t been to a Smoothie King in years so I asked the employee about the menu. We also got truly excellent empanadas next-door at Moosie’s and we sat outside in the lovely shaded area and enjoyed pleasant discourse on how to continue making the market strong. We still ate it (but didn’t finish it like we usually do) because the oregano was in the middle of the pie, (meaning it was mostly at the tip of the slice). I just have to remember to ask next time. Otherwise, no other issue(s).”

Seated promptly and drink order taken. Food was brought to the table promptly and hot. I had the hamburger steak and onion ring, slaw. Wife had chicken with vegetables, onion rings, and slaw. We enjoyed our food and were constantly checked on by staff to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely stop at Cubbies when we're in town.”

Our last trip was not as good but realize that everyone can have an off day. tonight we arrived at 7:01. and were told the dining room was closed (even though their website says open until 7:30). they reluctantly allowed us to come in and sit down. we knew exactly what we wanted - oysters and shrimp. the server comes to our table and tells us that the fryers are off and they only have bbq and chicken. this is our second poor experience in a row at Parker's - so we're going to give it one more shot - but three strikes and we're out!”

Steak Sandwich, Wow!! Absolutely the best! While waiting she brought my (to-go) drink to me, and minutes, like about 4 I had my cheesy delicious Steak sandwich with grilled onions, peppers and muchrooms (otherwise known as 'All The Way). Recommend the Onion rings as a side to your combo, it's only a buck. Ari provided great service in little time while maintaining professional enthusiasm. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK THERE ANYWAY! I will be calling corporate and I will tell everyone I know to not spend your money there. “We recently stumbled upon the Marathon while visiting the art gallery next door. To our embarrassment, we had driven past it for over a year, assuming it was closed due to its dimly lit interior and lack of visible parking. As lovers of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, we excitedly ventured in to give it a try.

To our delight, we discovered a hidden gem that we had been missing out on for far too long! The restaurant offers an extensive menu, ranging from traditional Greek dishes like chicken kabobs and gyros to more familiar options like burgers, salads, and pizza. The homemade Greek salad dressing, perfectly cooked chicken, and delectable gyros were accompanied by mouthwatering pita bread, heated and coated with a special something that truly sets it apart.

Looks like Marathon has a full bar and a warm, inviting atmosphere with charming wood paneling, street-level windows, and an abundance of plants reminiscent of cozy local restaurants in Alaska and Canada. The clean, comfortable environment is further enhanced by the exceptionally welcoming staff who contribute to the overall positive energy of the place.

Not only is the food exceptional, but the prices are also incredibly reasonable. With fountain drinks under $2 featuring the highly sought-after crushed ice, it's a refreshing change from the overpriced and under-flavored options found at other establishments. The samosa and the sauce felt like I was in India.The dosa was not spicy enough for me (I understand that they probably need to keep it that way to cater to the American population) but God it was amazing, especially with the sambar.Like it seems costly but totally worth it, just for that authentic sambar dosa, like you will feel like you're eating something that I actually made in South India. As a plus, their commode is incredibly powerful. It looks like a household-style commode, but watch out when you flush -- if you put your arm in there (there's some strange folks out there, so I'm just warning them), you might be lost to the sewers.”
