If you’re from the city and know what a bodega vibe feels like, New York Deli will take you right back home. Sure, the storefront and interior might not wow you, but the food absolutely will. Their gyro is my go-to, and it’s as authentic as it gets—bringing me straight back to Chicago. While I’m not from New York, I wouldn’t doubt it gives the same nostalgia to anyone from the Big Apple. Arby’s might claim, “We have the meats,” but they’ve got nothing on New York Deli. The flavor, the portions, and the quality here are unmatched. For anyone craving a taste of the city in Havelock, this spot is a must-try.”

“Took my husband there tonight and he was amazed at the food. I ordered the grilled scallops and catfish. OMG! It was very tasty. The spices were awesome and the catfish was grilled perfectly, very moist. My husband had the fried chicken and loved it! He can’t wait to go back and try the meatloaf. The service was great. We met the owner who stopped by and when I told him I was disappointed they were out of their crab dip, he told me to hold on, he had to check something. We were already eating our meals and he came out with a delicious crab dip made just for us. It was so delicious that it reminded us of our Maryland crabs. To all my fellow Northerners looking for some good spice and seafood , definitely check this place out!”

“I visited today and the staff were absolutely amazing. It was a busy time, around 1:20pm, and despite a large volume of customers the staff were so diligent, organized and helpful.

They were also really responsive and helpful to the customers beside us who had pretty strict dietary needs. The staff followed every best practice for allergen cleanliness and took extra care to respect and handle the customers request.

And of course the food was DELICIOUS! I vote they get a raise!”

“The food is always great, even better around lunch time...when they have more food out since busier. Also the sushi is top notch. The portions are very good size, and the Spam Musubi come 2 to an order, and are huge, and their Poke Bowls will definitely fill you up.”

“The employee that I met was kind and respected. The order was hot and smelled great. Just two small issues parking and without maps to guide it would be hard to locate. Parking is possible but difficult.
