“Excellent service, Vanessa is a Rockstar! Steak was cooked perfectly and they had a couple of IPAs on tap. Pernicious IPA was delicious, just wish they would serve it in a tall glass as it's $9 ? I do not recommend the butter, it's made with margarine.Kid-friendliness: Kid's steak!“

“The food is ok. While I’d say it’s authentic, it’s an authentic representation of decent, but not great, Chinese BBQ.They ask if you want it spicy or not, but the spiciness level doesn’t really register. We asked them to bring the next batch more spicy, but it was still pretty mild.“

“Great little hole in the wall family restaurant! They were highly recommended to me by a coworker from the Cleveland county area. I highly recommend them too! They have two different sauces but I didn’t try them. The bbq was so good it didn’t need any sauce! The Brunswick stew, coleslaw and banana pudding was great too! The staff is super friendly and treat you like you’re a regular.“

“A fried seafood and barbecue place where you come in, place your order and pay at the counter, and seat yourself indoors or out. The food was served on a tray, and condiments and drinks are self serve at the counter. Our seafood was ok, portions were plentiful. The homemade banana pudding dessert was a disappointment, not a banana to be found. We didn’t try the barbecue and smoked meats but they smelled wonderful. Pupper friendly outside.“

“The server was extremely helpful and attentive, answering all questions and checking in on us repeatedly. The beef bulgolgi (regular and spicy), chicken bulgolgi (regular and garlic), garlic samgyupsal, and gocgujang bulgogi were amazing. The fried dumplings weren't that good, but everything else was so delicious. I love that they use cast iron grills instead of metal. They're so much easier to cook on and you don't have to change them out as much because the meat doesn't stick.“

“Absolutely amazing food and service with a warm comforting environment. The food was outstanding but had limited options. When we naively assumed the egg side was already cooked and added it to our soup late they offered to recook our soup just so we could safely eat it still. Stunning service and great personality to the staff who helped us. From what they did have we had an amazing dinner and an even better experience! 10/10 would recommend for someone looking for a “New and Refreshing Experience”“

“Fun place. If you like smoked meats, you're going to love this. Collard greens were great. I wouldn't say this is traditional eastern or western North Carolina style. They have different sauces so you can go with a more vinegar base sauce if you'd like, or you can go Western US. Counter service with an old-timey vibe. Food was good.“

“Changing my review a little because the last few times we went we felt very rushed. I understand it's a very busy restaurant but I don't think we should feel like we need to eat quickly and leave. The last time we went, the waitress brought our appetizers with the salad. Then taking my salad before I was done. The main course came quickly after that. I can see this hopping once. It's been the last few times that we felt rushed. Disappointed“

“Although Daddy D's has been around for years, we never managed to stop by for a variety of reasons. As an aside, I was aware that in the beginning, Danny's BBQ of Cary, provided assistance to Daddy D's in the beginning to get up and rolling. We always loved Danny's which featured a Texas/Florida style of smoked barbecue. At that time (1990's and early 2000's), the predominant (perhaps only) BBQ style in this area was the eastern NC vinegar-based variety. So, it didn't take long for Danny's to began spreading the word that other styles of BBQ were as good or better (subjective, I know). It was around 3 PM on a Tuesday when we happened to drive past Daddy D's, and we finally decided to stop in, and I'm glad we did. First of all, our family have really grown to favor the Texas/Florida/Kansas City/Tennessee styles of BBQ. We just personally never grew fond of the vinegar-based Eastern Carolina style of BBQ, but that's subjective of course. Well, Daddy D's has both, with their main focus being on the former. Their menu shows some Eastern-style BBQ offerings, so they cater to everyone. They were still serving lunch when we came - and by the way - they give a 10% military/law enforcement discount, which is nice. I wound up ordering the Burnt Ends platter, and you get two sides - I chose the baked beans and coleslaw. Along with that, we ordered a separate 1/2 lb of pulled pork so all of us could dig into that if we were still hungry. My wife ordered a brisket sandwich, and my son had their steak sandwich offering - but theirs was made from brisket. The interior of the restaurant has a nice barbecue vibe to it - lots of wood. The waitress was very friendly and accommodating, and the overall vibe was inviting. My burnt ends platter was absolutely scrumptuous. The meat was super tender - like butter, and I also love what they do with their baked beans. They add a bit of vinegar, brown sugar, molasses, some pork bits, etc. The beans had a slightly tangy taste, but boy were they good. Coleslaw was just as we prefer ours - that is, finely chopped. Needless to say, I devoured my Burnt Ends platter. And for lunch, the portions were just right - enough to fill you up, to be sure. Now as for the pulled pork, we were a little disappointed. You see, they served us the pork that must have been sitting out all day in their kitchen warmer, and it was totally dried out. It looked as if they left it out all day in the kitchen. We had to add barbecue sauce to get some moisture in there, and when we did, it tasted fairly good. We can only imagine how it would taste after first being made. My recommendation would be to come during normal lunch-time hours if you are going to order the pulled pork. My wife and son enjoyed their meals to be sure. So, the bottom line is that we were looking for a barbecue place like this because Fuquay-Varina is sorely lacking of BBQ restaurants. I wish a "City Barbecue" chain would come to Fuquay as they have some excellent offerings. But right now, as far as BBQ establishments go, Daddy D's is it (for both Fuquay and Varina), unless there is something else that we're not aware of. Will we come back? Why yes we will (looking forward to it), and other than the dried-out pulled pork - which I can't imagine they would serve like that every day - their menu offers quite a bit of variety that should please most folks. We're only giving it 4 stars because of the dried-out pork. But everything else was perfect! I can change my review the next time we go and try to order the pulled pork again. If all is well then, changing it to 5 stars will be easy to do. Looks like we found our local BBQ home.“

“Raleigh is a fine area to visit, but their idea of BBQ and mine are not the same. But I'd heard plenty of good things about Big Mike's and I made my way over. I sat at the bar and had a 3 meat platter. Brisket, burnt ends, and chopped BBQ chicken. Actually, I had asked for ribs, but got brisket instead. Not that I was complaining as things would turn out. I was expecting pulled chicken and instead it was roughly chopped chicken breast. I was glad it wasn't pulled but the meat was a little dry which can happen easily with chicken breast. I needed a decent amount of sauce for it. It was seasoned well though. Burnt ends were fine, not the best, not the worst. But the brisket was incredibly good. In the mid Atlantic, a lot of BBQ places do the pork well, but not the beef. Well Big Mike's does a great job with the cow. Moist meat, a nice layer of bark on the outside. I would certainly order this again. Thumbs up for the sides, the smoked potato salad is one of the best BBQ sides I've ever had. Potatoes were all dente, the dressing was super cheesy and thick. Cucumber salad was a fine refresher for the palate. Service was pretty good, though it did take a little more time than I would have wanted to get my drink refill. But the check was processed in a timely manner. If anything, maybe some more sides like mac and cheese and cornbread would be a nice addition. But a good BBQ spot for sure.“

“So in all my years, and I’m old, I have never sent an entree back, but I just had to send back the piggy Mac skillet. It looked great. It tasted great. But whoever separated the pulled pork in the kitchen really messed up. It had big bones and minced up bones in the skillet. My review was going to be a really low number. BUT, I explained to the waitress what happened and so I sent the entrees back and ordered the smoked wings instead. Turned the review right side up. I got 6 wings of the dry rub and 6 wings of the Monster flavored. The monster flavor was pretty spicy(hot) and had great flavor, and the dry rub was flavorful but not spicy hot. Great combination. Waitress at the bar was very friendly.Parking: Place was not busy at all. Went on a Wednesday night. No parking available on the street in front. Had to park in the back in a really crowded unmarked lot.“
