“This place is more of a night time dive-bar and that's what it's aimed at so my review is not for that. We visited on a quiet Sunday afternoon and enjoyed a low-key drink experience while watching some sports on TV. This isn't a sports bar but we found it a great place for our purposes and we really enjoyed the divey aesthetic on a warm early-Spring Sunday. I'm not a fan of crowded bars so I won't be coming back to see the music most likely, but they appear to have a nice setup for plenty of people to enjoy a show and get drinks at either of the bars without too much fuss.“
“I am a Greensboro fan with so many good local eateries to choose from. Freemason Grub & Pub is no exception. The signage is challenging in the dark, but the exterior green lights likely leftover from St. Patty's helped identify them. It's an adorable two story brick with wonderful character. Parking is off street or in their own small lot in the rear.My wife and I cut our arrival a bit close after 830 with a weekday closure of 9. The interior offers a cozy vibe with wood floors, exposed brick and dimly lit dining room . The bourbon bar is the centerpiece. With closing in 20 minutes the restaurant was mostly empty. Our friendly waitress Bella was on top of drink orders. I ordered an Old Fashioned utilizing Makers bourbon with a banana flavor profile. It proved to be outstanding @ $14. Bella encouraged us to try their bbq which they are known for, we ended up both getting the Cherrywood Brisket. My wife with side of Cesar and me side of cup of chili for $1 up charge. The recommendations really made the difference.Bella brought the food out within 15 minutes. Temperatures were correct. The brisket was magnificent. Tender with fat to meat ratio. The house sauce was perfect with a slight kick. The cup of chili was yum with Navy Bean and frito corn chips on top that was unusual. My wife agreed with my assessment on the brisket and her salad was fresh. We finished out splitting a butterfinger pie which was good size for the share. It proved to be mighty tasty and not a crumb was left. Our bill was brought to us in a timely fashion to close out. Since we were out of town Bella suggested a few other local places. I would recommend Freemason and who knows may return this week.Parking: Parking in rear“
“The food, the atmosphere, the drinks, all were beyond expectations. The service we received, from talking with one of the owners - who was behind the bar making the hand-crafted cocktails- to the food, were absolutely wonderful. You walk in to a welcoming and friendly setting with a personal feel, that leaves you with the desire to come back every weekend. These guys not only put an immense amount of thought into their menu, but also their delivery of service. P“
“The Irish coffee, bacon board, and bacon egg and cheese sandwich were so good. The rest of the party enjoyed their meals as well, like the biscuits and gravy and french toast. We were there for Sunday Brunch for our Mom's birthday. The hosts were very friendly, and so was our waitress, whose name I can't remember; sorry. Will give you a heads up and say that they ONLY serve soft drinks, water, and alcohol. They do not have tea; sweet or unsweetened. They also don't have ketchup, but the dip they give you for your fries is really good, and you won't miss not having the ketchup. Will definitely go back given the chance. Thank you all for a great time.“
“I've been in before only to look around and pick up some charcuterie to go as gifts (BIG hits by the way!). I finally went in today so that I could sit down and enjoy the food myself. I was sat down right away, and my server was super friendly. The "Pesty Chicken" pizza was absolutely delicious as was the Reisling that I had with it. The atmosphere is beautiful, especially by the beautiful windows. While waiting for my food, I opened up a book and read in peace with some great music in the background. Can't wait to go back.“
“We always love lunch at the Village Tavern! The patio is so nice and we always receive great service!Kid-friendliness: We always bring our infant with us in her stroller and it’s never been a problem. They are also very accommodating when it comes to needing hot water (to warm bottles in)!“
“Was in town for one night and a day and a half. Stopped by this Tavern on the way out. Atmosphere was really nice... but I kind of wish the chairs were shorter. It's like climbing up a steep ladder, lol. But other than that, really enjoyed the way it was decorated. The service was super nice, helpful and timely. The food was so good! The French dip was packed with tender meat and the roll was soft, could of been toasted more, but delicious nonetheless. The Aus jus was seasoned to perfection. The steak fries were huge and lightly seasoned. Definitely recommend and would visit again when I'm back in town!“
“This highly rated place popped up as a close restaurant while we were visiting from out of town so we decided to go. I must say it did not disappoint and we went back two more times before our weekend was over.Pizza, Caesar salad, Buffalo wrap and wings were all tested and enjoyed thoroughly“
“Great little secret. Great atmosphere, great people and best of all great beer!On weekends there can be live music and some times game nights. Patios in the front and rear are great when the weather is willing. Most folks grab food at one of the local places and bring it in.The staff is great and always willing to educate you on their most recent brews.“
“We tried this place for the first time this weekend after hearing a lot of good things, and we were absolutely not disappointed! Despite being very busy, the restaurant had a nice, chill vibe to it. Our server was very friendly, quick with anything we needed, and our drinks stayed full. She recommended a boneless wing sauce to my husband that turned out to make for the best boneless wings we've ever had (and his standards for those are sky high). The chicken was fresh, tender, and the bourbon molasses sauce was absolutely delicious. The fried pickles as an app were good - the batter would have benefitted from a little more seasoning, and overall a little more flavor would have made them perfect, but overall enjoyable! I got a grilled chicken club, which I really enjoyed. The croissant was fluffy and soft, and the grilled chicken itself was perfectly cooked. The fries were awesome - well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and crispy. Every plate that went by us to another table looked phenomenal too...next time, I'm definitely interested in trying a flat bread and the salad bar!“
“We ended up at Sammy G's for the first time in a very long time this past weekend. It was a Saturday evening so I was expecting a wait but luckily we were able to grab a table quickly. Our server was very good and attentive. The restaurant was busy but the wait staff stayed polite, attentive, and kind. The meal starts with these little rolls that hit the spot if you come in hungry. My husband picked the Blackened Salmon Sandwich with the chips. He said it had such a great taste and the blackening was the perfect level. I tasted one of his chips and they were perfectly crisp. I ordered the Tavern Chicken which comes with mashed potatoes and corn, as well as a side salad. My Caesar side salad was very good--the salad was well dressed and the dressing wasn't too "goopy" or heavy. My only super minor complaint was the salad took a bit to come out, and our server brought us more bread in the interim. The chicken was sheer perfection! I was hesitant about the tomato (they aren't my favorite) but the tomato added the perfect amount of acid which added to the flavor. The corn might be my favorite! If they gave out the recipe, I'd take it! Looking back, I'd ask for corn instead of the potatoes, they were just that good!“
“I rarely write reviews because I am rarely blown away be an establishment. But my experience the other night had to be broadcasted. Danny is an incredible human who clearly takes great pride in High Point Bistro. He was the bartender and waiting the tables- quickly, efficiently, and effortlessly. He checked on us often. We got up to play pool and as we walked over he rushed over to the coin machine and put a $10 bill and told us to use those quarters to play pool. What?! Who does that?! (There is a community bowl where he keeps quarters, so we replenished it for the next people). While we were playing, Danny goes to the DJ/Music station, and without us asking or even inquiring, he starts to play tons of great songs. It was so much fun. And then, all while he was handling everyone's drinks, food, entertainment...I see him rush from behind the bar to the front door....to grab the arm of an older gentleman and proceed to WALK HIM TO HIS CAR! Oh, and the women's bathroom had perfume, dry shampoo, lotion, and tampons- in a basket for your use. I honestly have never seen anything like this and I think we all need to show up and show out for High Point Bistro. You just don't find this kind of service anymore. Very impressed and will be back!“
“I stopped by for a quick drink and I was greeted by Mario and he made me the most delicious drink I’ve had in a long time. Coming from Texas for work it had been a while since I had a great margarita. He made me a cilantro and cucumber margarita with a Tajín rim. 10/10“
“Westerwood has held a place in my heart for about 13 years. This homey dive always feels like a welcoming spot. While I no longer live in the area, so you couldn't call me a regular anymore, I still love Westerwood. Here you can find friendly bartenders who feel like friends. A variety of draft beers, affordable liquor pricing, and a cooler of cans & bottles. It's very likely you'll be able to find something that hit the drink itch you might have. Over the years it's gotten brighter and cleaner inside but it's still that perfect homey drive. If you're in GSO looking for a bar to call home, don't skip over Westerwood. Currently (Sept 3rd 2023): Tuesday (9 pm - 12 am) and Friday (11 pm - 2 am) is Karaoke Wednesday (10 pm to 12 am) is trivia Thursday $4 any shot and free pool P.S. Dogs are welcome inside and out.“
“No stars bc they don't sell food here...but you can get an ice cold brewsky or a mixed drink and hang out, shoot pool, karaoke on certain nights as well as tables on the back deck, just in case. People here are awesome, so the atmosphere is great!“
“My husband and I had a awesome time Junior from the Steve Harvey show was awesome. Just went to another show with Coca Brown she was awesome. The only thing I didn't appreciate is being asked if two other people could sit at our table and we purchased food and drinks that should be a choice not something mandatory. And these comedians that come there they honestly have nasty attitudes about taking a picture etc unless they can make money off of it then it's beneficial to them. Now we purchase tickets patronizing and we all in a recession money is tight remember celebrities you didn't make it by yourself we helped get you were you at .I don't like having to sit with people that I don't know and the fact that they don't even ask. The management is poor in my opinion and greedy.“
“Went for lunch so take that with a grain of salt. We ordered tossed tenders/sweet potato fries and the French dip/side salad. Fries were hot and good. Daughter said the tenders were great. The side salad was green leafy and not just iceberg and the ranch was homemade so I enjoyed the salad. French dip is my go to at many places. This one was a tad salty, but still enjoyable. Service was good and friendly.“
“I want to Thank Unwind for the Love. My husband and I celebrating 10 yrs. they brought me to tears. We will always support. Friendly Atmosphere. Genuine Love. “The kind of place you could hang out at all day. We stopped in for a quick sip on Mother's Day and stayed a while. Sat at the bar, and everyone was welcoming and very friendly. Great atmosphere. Reminds me of the place I used to love outside of Ft Carson CO. We'll be back every chance we get!“
“Located as the centerpiece of the three best bars not located in downtown Greensboro, all locked together like disfunctional conjoined twins on the corner of the intersection of Elam Ave. and Walker Ave. this is another great watering hole for people who want to be where everybody knows your name (whether you like it or not). But it is like its own little city within the city and the patrons and local residents are like on big family and it is a place that I feel at home in. So if you feel like you are a square peg trying to find into a round hole out there in the other nightlife and social haunts out in the city of lights, ce join us scalawags over here in the corner of misfit toys. You will likely fit right in. Great prices and a great staff ready to facilitate your alcoholic tendencies with a joke and a smile.“
“This is a great local bar! They have a fantastic selection of beer on draft, cider, bottled beer. They make fresh popcorn (free) and sell nuts and other snacks and local food items. We never go shopping downtown without stopping here for a couple drinks, too!“
“The food here is soooo good! I love the creativity of their menu. I honestly wasn't expecting the food to be so flavorful. But I am impressed. The homemade ranch is excellent! And so far, my favorite meal is the Bob Marley Wrap. The young lady (I think her name is Anne) is so sweet and friendly.“
“Came with some friends and had a blast! Amber was so pleasant. She recommended this drink the girls were drinking down at the end of the bar (pixie stick martini) and we loved them! Amber you rock. I’ll definitely be coming back to see you.“
“Conveniently located & absolutely beautiful venue! Big shade trees, outside lighting, and lots of space to spread out & enjoy yourself. Variety of bands on weekend, clean bathrooms, friendly crowd, & great bartenders. Perfect place for a girls night out!“
“This is the very best place to grab yana ice cold beer an a friendly good shot. The owner Billy is got to be the best dude I've met in a while. The place is friendly an good people attend the place to chat an have a good time . If ya out an about stop in an have a awesome time an enjoy the great service of the bartenders their as “
“I wish one would open up in Wilmington!!!!I LOVED coming here with my dogs. The staff is attentive and they make sure no dogs are going to escape while new dogs are coming in. I love that there are dog park attendants in addition to the bartender. Definitely not the case at other dog park/pubs I've been to. They are strict about your dog being up-to-date on vaccines (which is awesome), the water is always clean, and the whole place overall is just super clean and nice. They also have spray bottles out to correct bad behavior. Also plenty of seating outside so you can actually hang out while the dogs are playing.“
“Great vibes...classy but laid back atmosphere. Bartender was awesome although spacy at times. Had to get attention alot but still very nice. Food was quick and tasty. Great quality ?. The beer selection amazing alot to choose from and great names and flavors. I want to go back ASAP when it warms up. Very rustic candle lit type style. I love it.“
“Been here many times. Foods always good. Service is top notch. I do highly recommend the deep fried deviled eggs. They are amazing. This place is usually busy but they keep it clean and it normally runs pretty smooth. I will recommend you try this place out“
“Plank Street Tavern is a great place to meet up with Friends and enjoy a fun night. They have a HUGE beer list and tasty cocktails. The Staff is amazing and very accommodating. The line up of live music is strong. Come where the locals gather. Plank is open until 2a.“
“This is a great local spot. But is also fun for someone visiting Greensboro. This is a small, laid back bar with a nice outdoor seating area. Staff is friendly and the drinks are delicious. This is also a great spot for parking and walking around the small strip it's located in. I do recommend LDI (as the locals call it).Bar service only, so eat beforehand.“
“My only complaint would be that it's a few arcade games that do not work. But besides that, fair drink prices. I have not tried the pizzas, but it looks ?. Great places to take the kid during the daylight hours to get a drink and also to spend some time with them in a fun space.“
“Awesome place to comean have a beer or 5 . It's a good place to do lol cornhole an sit an shoot the bull with good friendly people an friends . Place has a burn out as well an live bands . I highly suggest the time to stop in an enjoy yourself .“
“One of the kindest business owners in the Boro. This guy supports locals, and hosts townies!Clean up the butts that lazy locals can't find a bin for the win, is my only gripe ;)Tips,Local, live music or small - mid range touring musicians and bands always bring in more $ and diverse crowds. Acoustic acts and check into the neighborhood sound ordinace. Utilize the shared driveway and say hello to the friendlies @Parts Unknown and @The bicycle storeI know the Greensboro music sceneOr did... Before I left west for Colorado for 7 years. That being said, post-party via The Blind Tiger, beat out Suds, share time with the Westwoods and say hello to the folks that could be pulled over from Common Grounds! Host open mics weekly, and bring in a deejay to spin at the pop up markets would be huge! Daniel did an Awesome job hosting all varieties, ethnicities and genders of local artists! Big win.Bartenders are lovely, space has a ton of character & characters. Bathrooms just need to be tended to and all that trash in between the building and the fence needs to be cleaned out. Dirty jobs call for diligent pre work employees...My other tip is for the locals.Clean up after yourselves!!!This is a communityAnd a bar!Don't trash it with poor mood changes on the touch tunes, improve it with a few smiles:Finally,"Be localBe GreenBe Boro'... And GET a taglineIe: Sundaze at SundriesOrPop Over The Hill (for the monthly Art Market)Plant a few plants for spring... And you lose the dinge and stigma of a "dive bar" with affordable atmosphere. Spruce!Last thoughts:Thank you is all.For hostingFor being thereFor getting over the hump with a few new friends and plenty of good moments!Long winded,-Kellen KleverfoxLevel 7 Guide ;)“
“Came here yesterday with my husband and my father, love this place! Really laid back environment and great music. My dad had the bloody mary and said it was the best he's ever had - and they even had a couple disc golf baskets out back which is right up our alley. Our bartender Ashley was awesome and so welcoming towards us. Cute little arcade downstairs and outside seating. Will definitely be back soon!!!“
“They have limited their menu items, but what is available is delicious. The salads are crisp and fresh; the wings are crispy and saucy; the hamburgers are juicy and well seasoned. We enjoy their pizza and pastas also. A great place for reasonably priced, tasty meals, with excellent service.“
“I don't know why they were probably yesterday late evening a while since I've been there , I just thought I would limp over Legion maybe even have one drink , or shot . but they could close early I guess , hey did you hear about Whitt dying SEMPER FI, Keep the Faith , remember not only the colors of the flag not run I don't either . All bikers , ride the rail of LIFEplease always look around, remember remember the Roxy never looked under or turned maybe your last“
“Love cheap oyster Monday! Great beer. Sometimes I'm not sure what the kitchen staff is doing. The team shucking oysters is always killing it and the kitchen food can be so slow. They completely forgot my crab soup and it took 45 minutes for Calamari.Parking: Really small lot behind the restaurant but street parking downtown.Kid-friendliness: Not a kid friendly place!“
