“What a surprise gem! Stopped in to get a treat for my spouse for his birthday. No small Bundt cakes available, so I got a cheesecake with fudge icing. Boy am I glad I did. The best ever. Graham cracker crust on bottom only, so you get a lot of pure, wonderful, creamy, and flavorful cheesecake. It was topped with rich, chocolate fudge icing, delicious. Then finished with some whipped cream and mini chocolate chips. Beautiful. The fudge icing is excellent by itself; the cheesecake is excellent by itself, so you really get two desserts but they go well together perfectly. And it is very big. 4” diameter and 2” high. We split just half of it because it is so rich and filling. Slowly savored every bite! Highly recommend this place and can’t wait to try their other treats! Thank you Mimosa for opening this bakery in our town!”

“Me and my baby girl took a road trip to pick up a dog lot because she rescues animals dogs particularly but she will not turn down any animal and we drove an hour and a half away to get this dog lot and on our way back home we decided to stop at AJ's Family Steakhouse because I haven't been there in a long time. It was definitely beyond what I expected being that it was Sunday afternoon very busy of course after church so you would think that they would be having some difficulties but absolutely not not a hiccup in the service or the food they both were spectacular. I did not get any pictures unfortunately but it was very beautiful and clean and there was someone if not two people on each station tending to it making sure everything was up to par and clean. So I want to put a special thanks out to AJ's Family Steakhouse for the awesome country style steak and gravy and potatoes and cabbage and corn and those specially cooked green beans also an awesome salad bar and two other separate settings of Italian food and soul food as well. And when I say soul food I mean food that touches your soul it takes you back to when Mama and Grandma was cooking in the kitchen and you sat down to supper if we were graciously lucky enough one way or the other Grandma and Mama made it happen What a Beautiful dinner Fried Chicken okra potatoes pinto beans fried cabbage boiled cabbage I can keep going. And the spaghetti and all it's fixings with the Hefty meaty sauce was absolutely awesome unfortunately couldn't eat them all at the same time but they have to taste as good as they look because my plate was banging. I think the good Lord first and foremost my Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior for letting me spend the day with my baby girl and letting us be able to eat at AJ's Steakhouse Thank you baby girl first and foremost and thank you AJ Family Restaurant and all the employees for such a lovely afternoon and supper I felt like I was 12 to 14 years old sitting down to a good supper that Mama or Grandma had sweated and worked hard to create Thanks for the Memories and God bless. “What a nice surprise it was to stumble upon this authentic Guatemalan restaurant in Morganton! We dashed in for a quick lunch on a weekday. It was hopping with folks enjoying lunch. We saw a lot of people eating thr soup - served in deep ramen type bowls. Next time we will order soup. It looked tasty! As it was we ordered our favorites - I got three types of Tacos Al Pastor with fresh onions and cilantro. They will grill the onions if you prefer. I prefer raw. I ordered pork, beef and chicken. All tasty! Husband ate the tamale and some of my tacos. Chips were warm and crispy. You fetch your own salsa at a salsa bar - very fresh - the green sauce is extra picante (spicy)! Btw the service was fast and friendly, despite the crowd! There is also a store and deli/butcher shop on the other side of the restaurant. We will be back! Just go - !”

“Me and my baby girl took a road trip to pick up a dog lot because she rescues animals dogs particularly but she will not turn down any animal and we drove an hour and a half away to get this dog lot and on our way back home we decided to stop at AJ's Family Steakhouse because I haven't been there in a long time. It was definitely beyond what I expected being that it was Sunday afternoon very busy of course after church so you would think that they would be having some difficulties but absolutely not not a hiccup in the service or the food they both were spectacular. I did not get any pictures unfortunately but it was very beautiful and clean and there was someone if not two people on each station tending to it making sure everything was up to par and clean. So I want to put a special thanks out to AJ's Family Steakhouse for the awesome country style steak and gravy and potatoes and cabbage and corn and those specially cooked green beans also an awesome salad bar and two other separate settings of Italian food and soul food as well. And when I say soul food I mean food that touches your soul it takes you back to when Mama and Grandma was cooking in the kitchen and you sat down to supper if we were graciously lucky enough one way or the other Grandma and Mama made it happen What a Beautiful dinner Fried Chicken okra potatoes pinto beans fried cabbage boiled cabbage I can keep going. And the spaghetti and all it's fixings with the Hefty meaty sauce was absolutely awesome unfortunately couldn't eat them all at the same time but they have to taste as good as they look because my plate was banging. I think the good Lord first and foremost my Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior for letting me spend the day with my baby girl and letting us be able to eat at AJ's Steakhouse Thank you baby girl first and foremost and thank you AJ Family Restaurant and all the employees for such a lovely afternoon and supper I felt like I was 12 to 14 years old sitting down to a good supper that Mama or Grandma had sweated and worked hard to create Thanks for the Memories and God bless. “We love this food! However, you need to either dine in or pick up yourself and check it before you leave. Everything was spot on the first 2 or 3 times we ordered. After that, no big deal the first mess up, however the next 3 times after I got cheese in my HAMburger (you even have to ADD cheese as an extra) no butter or sour cream with a baked potato, and the hot fudge sundae w/ice cream all put together to go. This typically comes separate and never had to specify, When I called, I was told they don't separate UNLESS you specify....sorry, but how does that even make sense? It's ice cream...and a hot fudge cake. I've never specified, that's how I know the ice cream comes in a little white separate pack....js The food is worth it, just make the drive.”

My ribs were very meaty and tasty, my wife's chicken was tasty as well. Both meats could have had a more smokey flavor. Our biggest complaint was they didn't have smashed taters or baked taters. The place was clean the atmosphere was great. We will be back. Worth the time.”

“We went a couple of hours before closing. They were out of many items but the waitress was pleasant and funny when she had to come and tell us after we had ordered as she wasn't aware they were out since the kitchen staff never posted it on the board.The food we did get was good except the Mac and cheese was cold and the rib tips were tough The pulled pork was amazingly delicious. The ribs are enormous so be prepared to need a to go box if you are not a big eater. The corn bread was yummy.The bathroom was not very clean but usable which is a concern, at least for me, of how clean the kitchen is.This was not our first time here, bit it was the first time since the buffet has been opened every day of the week. We have been at least 2 other times before the buffet. This time was not as enjoyable as the other times but everyone is human and has a not good day. We will be back to give it another chance to prove this day is not the new normal.”
