“Cape Fear Boil Co. did an amazing job with our rehearsal event at our spectacular rental in Oak Island. Hunter could not have been more perfect - the guests loved him along with all the food and fixings. We had plenty to feed all with lots of leftovers! Will definitely use them again!!!“

“Went in on a crowded Friday and every customer had a smile on their face. The employees were all running back and forth and having fun. I felt genuinely cared about and they took an interest in me while checking out my order. My food was absolutely incredible. Definitely coming here next time I visit oak island. Wonderful place. “Everytime we get to OKI this is our first night. Why? It never disappoints. We come down twice a year and they still recognize us each time. It's a great stop while at this magical beach. Love the food and the vibe. Can't wait until next time.“

“Best dessert/candy spot on the island! Not only do they have all their Sunset Slush favorite flavors but also some ice cream and a variety of candies in their store front location. They also help the local college and school kids during the summer by providing them a job serving the slushes on the beach! Students push the cart up and down the beach during peak seasons!“

“Update: I've now been there 5 times total. And I won't go again. I'm done. Two visits in the past month, and I've experienced the closed order window, "I have been to Kai Joe's three times in the past 10 days. Today was the first day that I didn't actually eat there. The tacos are very good. However service can be very slow. Oftentimes you show up to order at the ordering window, and they tell you they will be with you in a few minutes. Today when I arrived there was a line of approximately a dozen people waiting at the window, which was closed. There were 15 or 20 people sitting at the tables outside who said they had ordered, but were waiting on their food. After the ordering window didn't open for 20 minutes, and nobody received their food either, I left. Good tacos, bad service.UPDATE, Nov 2022: Food is still very good. Service can still be a little bit hit or miss, but the key seems to be simply calling and ordering ahead. Phone orders do seem to take priority, and if you can give them 10 or 15 minutes leave time your food is almost always ready when you get there. “Went there for boys night out. Love being in the clubhouse overlooking the ocean and the golf course. Really good drinks. Wait staff was informative and personable. We were able to order off the lunch and dinner menus. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the Ruben and it was moist and very flavorful. Go there on Thursday through Sunday and order the Prime Rib. You won't be disappointed“
