“So my good friend told me about this place few months back so I decided to give them a try,I must say I was very satisfied the boneless chicken practically melts in your mouth the bone in chicken is pretty tasty as well I'm a lil disappointed they don't do breast or wings but how ever the dark meat is good sides are delicious as well I think maybe bigger portions would be better the biscuits are soft and tender butter milk the staff was very nice and accommodating I definitely recommend Bob white counter I would leave 4 stars do to the lil flaws but I think they deserve a 5 star rating.“
“Not gonna lie, I first went to this place when it was called PJ Ryan's. They changed it to Emma and I had food here at once and it was a bit underwhelming.I went back today and the food was a lot better. They've always had pretty good bartenders and servers, and it's a great location right next to the trains. It'll probably only get better since the neighborhood is about to go crazy.I'll be back. Might become a regular if the food quality keeps up.“

“Great fried chicken. Not greasy, with a nice crunchy batter that was not too thick. Oil used was fresh and chicken seemed also fresh and was good quality. I didn’t give 5 stars only because I would have liked more seasonings but this restaurant will still be my go to when I’m looking for fried chicken. Service was also fast.“
“I met Chef Mo in Restaurant Depot. She told me about her restaurant in Newark. I told her I would visit the following week. The food at The Weekend Spot was excellent.... I am a New Yorker and we love food. I had the Mac and cheese, Collard greens, Jasmine rice, black beans, potatoe salad, fried chicken and Oxtail stew..... I better not forget the banana pudding.....Everything was good. I mean excellent..... Flavors are bursting thru your mouth. Thank you Chef Mo for introducing me to your Weekend Spot Restaurant.... “Incredibly delicious, well seasoned soul food. We had the Mac and cheese, fried chicken, pork chops, yams, and cabbage. You must go here if you’re looking for soul food in the tri state area. The lemonade seemed to be store bought and not home made. The spot was very busy with lots of delivery and pick up orders. We only had to wait for like 25 minutes for our food to be given to us. It was fresh, the fried food wasn’t greasy at all, and the Mac and cheese was creamy and decadent. I would definitely go again. I wish they sold cornbread!“

“All of the food we had was delicious. Serving sizes are large. The cornbread was the best I’ve ever had. They do not serve alcohol and have a corking fee. They include a 20% tip automatically in the receipt when you receive it. They have signs around the restaurant that make it seem like they take the reservations very seriously.“
“Had the catfish poboy at uptown night Market! They told me 15 minutes was done in 15 minutes. It was a large fried catfish filet and it was perfectly crispy. I think the tartar sauce may have needed a little more salt but overall great experience. Reminded me of Louisiana“
