“Let me 1st say that they need to print updated menus. There are 3-4 items they don't serve still on their printed menu. That being said, what they do have is DELICIOUS & PLENTIFUL!! The restaurant seating area is small. If you choose to dine in, be prepared to wait. Large tasty variety of island beverages. Be mindful of the amount of sugar in them, though. Items are prepared to order, and there is always competition with a steady flow of delivery drivers coming for take-out orders. Server never checked on us and refilled drinks without flagging her down. Hot plates were handed ver with our warning giving finger burns of which staff couldn't have cared less. “Some of the best Dominican food you're gonna find anywhere outside the island.Spectacular food made fresh every day and a wide variety of dishes and drinks. They used to be cash only, but have an ATM inside and now accept card payments.Definitely my favorite place in the city. Try the mofongo with roast pork. It's extra garlicky and packed with flavor. The rice and beans are always perfect, and so is their pernil (pork shoulder). The appetizers are also worth checking out.Small place, and it gets crowded quick. Everyone loved the Arroz con Gandules it was so flavorful. We got 2 platers with Arroz con gandules y pernil and 1 with Arroz blanco , habichuelas y bistec encebollao. Also ordered an order of each of Maduros, guineos con cebollas and chicharon. All this for under $50! Service was on point and with a smile. Place is clean and number system is perfect to keep order and know when it's your turn because it can get busy and chaotic. They expanded and closed off the wait area to have customers out of the elements and be more comfortable while you wait to be served.. Parking can be a challenge but we'll worth it.. I've tried the Mac & cheese, sometimes 50/50 with that. The j*** chicken is very good, the rice and bean's are not dry like other places. I've had the curry goat and it is tender, man oh man. “Found this treasure place when I was looking for Dominican/ Mexican food for lunch at work. Really really good slow cook ribs. I really want to know how they seasoned it even there might be some recipes online. When you chewing the chicharrones the juice/fat just come out and it taste really really good.Ribs/ chicharrones(crispy slow cook pork belly), rice and beans, salad, and maduros(sweet fried plantains) for $13.Do not go to Applebees, TGI Fridays, McDonald’s, meals from local tea like this gives you better and healthier choices, and they deserved more customers.Part of ribs and chicharrones(the part doesn’t include much fat) became too hard/too dry to eat after long time cook, some of them are not eatable anymore since it’s too hard. There should be a way to avoid this problem. As I know the Cantonese type Chinese BBQ restaurant has slow cook ribs and crispy pork belly too (with different seasoning of course) , but theirs doesn’t have this problem, and pork belly are perfectly brown. I don’t know how they do it. Maybe cover meat with aluminum paper and be more accurate at the timing and temperature by cooking them not as long as Latin chicharrones(chicharrones taste harder/crispier). If you try pork belly from both restaurants you will know what I meant“

I called the restaurant to ask for something but the number on Google was not for the Fairmont location but the woman was nice enough to call over to the other location for my special request. I received my order packaged really nicely with thought. It was still hot eventhough my home was kinda far from the restaurant location. The portion size was good. I was a little disappointed that they did not give me the extra oxtail gravy that I called to request but it was still good. The cabbage could've used a little more seasoning but overall it was still good. I added hot sauce to the cabbage for more flavor. The oxtail were delicious, I would definitely order from here again. The whole place was beautiful and I just loved the environment and the theme and eveything was amazing. All the food came out at perfect timing without any waiting and it all came out warm and fresh.
