“I’ve probably gone here 100+ times in the last 5-10 years whenever I’m in the area. Every time I order the Chicken Parm Sandwich. Consistently on point. Loaded with Parm so big plus if you love cheese. The owner and service has always been extremely friendly and accommodating. My favorite takeout Italian in the area.“
“Solid elevated Italian, in a charming house in historic Chester. We met friends who frequent Benito's and really enjoyed it. Despite the cold winter weather outside, it was warm and cozy, and festive for the holidays inside. Starter Asparagus Parmigiano - coming from California, we don't typically see asparagus in the winter, but it was delish. Main Course Cavatelli Calabrese for me! Ricotta pasta with sausage, broccoli rabe, cherry peppers in garlic and oil - hold the peppers Cavatelli with broccoli is my go-to pasta and reminds me of my Grandma. I must order it whenever it's on a menu. It sparks joy and floods me with happy memories. I asked for no peppers but my friend got it with peppers and loved it too. The guys tried a few of the veal dishes and licked their plates clean. Dessert We ended the night with classic, delicious cannoli, lemon cake, and espressos. This is a BYO restaurant so be sure to bring wine if you want any. The friendly staff will open and pour for you.“
“Nice, cozy spot, family restaurant with a nice bar. My daughter loved her ziti with meatball. My wife really enjoyed her chicken over pasta, and I was surprised by the quality of the prime rib king cut. The prime rib was fresh, tender, and juicy. It was a bit under seasoned, but it didn't matter at all. The quality of the meat was really impressive. There was no photo of dessert, but the apple crisp was warm and delicious.“
“We were passing through Chester and needed something quick to eat that wasn't from a coffee shop or Wendy's. Bella's sign caught my attention and there was a parking spot right out front, it was meant to be. We ordered a couple of slices and enjoyed them by the window with a soccer game on TV. It was a week before Christmas and they were busy working on catering orders it seemed. I'd stop here for a slice again. It tasted good, the seat was comfortable and the staff was friendly, that's all you could really ask for at a pizza place I think.“
“Such a great dinner spot! Came here with a two coworkers and were blown away by the service. Our waiter gave detailed recommendations that turned out to be delicious!! I got the ragú as my main meal and loved it, and the cabbage/shrimp appetizer was what especially surprised us with its flavor. It was a small and quaint spot with only a handful of tables, which created an intimate environment. I came from out of town but if I was local, this would be a go to for me!“
“This is one of our favorite go to places. The staff is always friendly and attentive. There is usually no wait to be seated. We have many favorites but the pizza is at the top of our list. The crust is soft and there is plenty of cheese. We love the fresh bread and oil to dip it in that they bring when you first sit down. The bolognese sauce is some of the best that we have ever had. Pasta is always cooked perfectly. Some of the best wings as well. Crispy and flavorful. There are always specials on the weekends and they have a large selection of beer, wine, and specialty cocktails. The cannoli are great and the mocha cappuccino is a must. We do wish they would bring back their bruschetta. It was delicious!“
“Excellent food and a great intimate setting. Had the claims and mussels in a spicy sauce. Followed by a spinach fettuccine with crab meat special. The veal was also very good. And to top it off, had the tres leche dessert. Our server gave us great recommendations. First time dinning here and will definitely come again!“
“We had a fantastic meal and loved the entertainment! My daughter is celiac and asked us to try this restaurant…. We will be back! Well worth the 50 minute drive to have a gf meal and NOT get sick from cross contamination. Thank you Mama’s Cafe and we will be back soon!“
“The food was absolutely amazing. The ambiance was delightful and the service was great. We ordered the lobster bisque and French onion soup as apps and it was the best we have ever had in our lives. Creamy, decadent, and flavorful without being overbearing. Our entrees were the mushroom risotto and the seafood sensebastion and these were also incredible and nice portions for the price. All in all it was a wonderful night and dinner. We will definitely be back.“
“Came here with my family for a goodbye dinner, and I have to say it was quite cozy and cute inside. They are a BYOB restaurant, so we brought our own wine and our waiter opened and poured it for us throughout the visit making sure our glasses were always full. I strongly suggest they type up the specials for people to read and to view prices. The waiter told us the specials from memory; so of course, all three of us had questions to ask and the waiter was getting angry that we couldn’t remember all of what he just said. After we order, we receive these absolutely delicious breadsticks and they were gracious enough to bring out seconds! I ordered the meatballs as an appetizer, I thought they were really tasty and juicy! I ordered the Chicken Milanese as my entree. I thought the chicken was a bit dry and super thin, it definitely looked like a large piece of chicken but was very deceiving. I was very excited for dessert because I was told by the lady that everything was homemade. I also work in the restaurant industry; I recognized 3 of the desserts right away being from a restaurant company. She then told me that the Tiramisu was a family recipe of theirs and let me say this, it is a must try for sure. Tiramisu is a favorite of mine and it did not disappoint! The lady also sold me on ordering her cappuccino because she makes them really good; it was good and extra foamy. Overall, it was a nice experience. However, I don’t think I will be coming back anytime soon due to the prices. If I knew 3 meatballs were going to be $19 I would have skipped it. Same for some of the other dishes, especially on the specials menu. I get they are going for a more upscale feel but having your waiter and waitress sit a table away from you eating and talking with other workers doesn’t really give off that vibe.“
“Claude & Joe Branda are amazingThey’re accommodating with last minute reservations even when their books are full.Their staff is amazing for the big parties & for the small tables - lot of local kids - which is great they support the local community.I live in nyc & I know the food I get at brandas is probably better than what I get in the city.Love having family gather there - & the food is out of this world. It’s BYOB which is also niceDon’t miss out on the shrimp with garlic sauce“
“Lived here over 5 years and never checked this place out. My daughter and I went for a quick bite tonight. The pizza was delicious! And everyone was so warm and friendly! I'm from NY and I'm picky about my pizza! Definitely go check them out!!“
“Valentine's Day weekend and everything was perfect. We normally avoid restaurants around holidays but everything at Trattoria was as good if not better than normal. Thank you Dominick, Michele and everyone on your staff. Your consistency and attention to detail is amazing.“
“Do you like authentic thin crust Italian pie? I do! This is why I love their pizza. I love the bubble in the crust with just the right amount of cheese to sauce ratio. I always ask for very little cheese on my Margherita pizza and more sauce. They get it perfect every time. I liked it better than the pie I had in Naples.“
“Heading to Hopatcong State Park and my husband remembered this little pizza place made excellent pizza. He brought out 3 slices. I'm from NY, my mom is from Brooklyn, we know pizza. I have to say, this pizza tastes authentic homemade; especially the crust. And good mozzarella too! I do not typically like sweet tomatoes sauce, but this one was spot on. Will definitely be back!“
“Absolutely insane experience at Rosie’s!!! Wow!!! Food was SO delicious, and the ambiance was great too! I ordered the grilled octopus which was to die for, surf and turf and the most delicious chicken parm I have ever had. It was so good I had to buy some of Rosie’s famous sauce to take home :)I can’t wait to come back with some friends!“
“Amazinggggg✨ This place really was fantastic, we loved every single one of our dishes, my rib eye special was cooked perfectly and the ravioli de mare was so delicious. The owner came by to check on us multiple times but all staff were very attentive and friendly and really cared for everyone dining in. We are coming back next week for Easter Sunday, I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a good Italian restaurant with great service. Please try the limoncello dessert , 10/10.“
“Service was quick, attentive, personally attentive and professional.Food was delicious. I recommend their bruschetta, the homemade bread was amazing. Great balance with the balsalmic vinegar, exceptional taste. We can't wait to comeback and see the new dining room once construction is complete.Parking: Depending upon the time of day, parking can be a challenge. There was plenty of spots in front on the street at 4:30 pm on a Tuesday.“
“Love this place. Food and service have always been top-notch. The service is never rushed, even at a Christmas Eve dinner. Our server Brian is always fantastic, and has even spoken to my sister-in-law in Polish. She's Ukrianian and I think she loves the fact that someone would go to the trouble of speaking to her in a language she's comfortable with. Much appreciated.“
“We've had lunch here about 10 times this year, and we really like it. Wish we had discovered it 24 years ago! We've had a few Summer dinners on the back patio sitting by the Raritan river headwaters, just a babbling brook at this point. It's enchanting! Try it!“
“We came here on a strong recommendation from a family member. We were truly impressed with the quality of the food and the service. The menu offered many delicious classic Italian dishes, along with some elevated interpretations of the classics. We will absolutely return to try other items that this great restaurant has to offer! Do yourself a favor and eat here soon, and try the roasted pear salad.“
“The gentleman at the counter knew the customers by name and vice versa. I ordered an x-large pie to go, grabbed a Coke and tried a slice on the ride home. WOW....this pizza is exceptional! Friendly staff. Clean and relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be back. If you haven't tried them, do yourself a favor. You wont be disappointed. If you like pizza, this place is for you. Wish I ordered two.“
“My family held a surprise birthday party for my father at Il Monello and it was the best decision we could have made. The owner and staff were so easy to work with to plan the party and were very accommodating of our 24-person group. On the day, the food and service were superb - I heard from a few family members that it was the best Italian meal they’d had in a while. This was our first visit to Il Monello, and we will definitely be coming back to dine in the future.“
“I think this is my second or third review of Azzurro. My wife and I live in the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania and drive 42 miles to Peapack at least twice a month (although this week we were there twice) to dine at the best Mediterranean/Italian restaurant in N.J. We have several Mediterranean/Italian favorite restaurants in N.J. All run by Albanians. However, Azzurro is just a touch above the others. The quality of food is outstanding (Rigatoni Azzurro and Eggplant Parmigiana are standouts) with all entrees cooked to order (pasta true al'dente). Prices are very reasonable with excellent desserts priced at $7. The servers are total professionals and attentive. The restaurant is roomy, clean and have nice paintings on the wall. And to top it off, it's BYOB. We just love the place. We have not met the owner but have repeatedly pleaded with the servers to tell the owner to open a restaurant in the Lehigh Valley or at least closer to Pennsylvania. Bob and Linda“
“Last year: Good food, great service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Great find!A year later, I was in the area and went back. It was once again really good.If you are looking for a comfortable atmosphere and food that is straightforward, hearty and good, then I highly recomend Charlotte's Web.“
“Our family discovered Dante's in 1993. Tommy and I enjoy going for dinner, but our family has catered so many parties there; most recently our granddaughter Aria's Christening on 2/17/24. We have catered our younger daughter Alex's communion, our Michelle's bridal shower, my Mom's 90th birthday and my 65th birthday there three years ago. Lisa has always gone above and beyond, and especially working w/Michelle who lives out of state; making Aria's christening perfect! We can't thank her and her staff enough for making my granddaughter's Christening fabulous on Saturday! The Vitale and Nolan Families“
“The food, service, and ambiance here are really good!I love the blackened chicken sandwich and the caprese pastaThe waiters are very nice and friendlyThe restaurant is well-lit – it isn’t too bright, but it isn’t too dim eitherThe hot sauce and the bread with marinara sauce are also good hereVegetarian options: Vegetarian options are available“
“I love their sauce! One of my favorite pizzas in the area. My bf and I also love their tortellini carbonara and one meal is more than enough for us to split! Their chicken wings are good too. And if you’re looking for something a little different, try any one of their sandwiches (hot or cold) on a panini. You won’t be sorry. I enjoy the cheesesteak panini.“
“Welcoming staff and the owner is always hands on.Cozy atmosphere with a bar. Food comes out hot. Live music on Fridays. We have been several times and Im hoping they address my one peeve. Though I appreciate cleanliness, the smell of whatever product they are using is so strong it lingers the entire meal. Go to a product not so toxic and scented so we can enjoy the food w/o the oder.“
“Meet up some old pals for dinner, good food and service also no rush on dinner, they let us hang around and catch up on life.Parking: Large!Kid-friendliness: We were kid less there, but there were other children around.Wheelchair accessibility: Nice ramp up into the building.“
“Searching around the area for pizza 2 places came up I decided to stop here . I was met by the owner on her own making pizza , garlic knots and a few more things . What a hard working woman. The pizza was amazing , the garlic knots amazing . My coworkers loved their meals . She chatted with us for a little bit , gave a little history , and how she takes pride in what she does and what comes out that kitchen and oven . Definitely recommend this place . Keep doing a great job and thanks for the great customer service . See you soon !!!“
“This place is excellent . In the center of Netcong and there pizza and dinners are excellent always . The service is great and the staff is very friendly. It’s worth the drive from where we live driving half hour for great Italian food . If you’re looking for a great Italian pizzeria & restaurant run by Italians this is the place to go. Food is always good !“
“Excellent restaurant with high quality food and daily specials. Nice variety of mixed drinks with a cozy bar. Relaxing and friendly atmosphere with nice clean decor. Ask for Heidi when you go!! She was an attentive and outgoing waitress. The bar pie is the best in the area!!! Looking forward to making this restaurant our go to place!“
“Ordered an Italian hot dog to go. Phoned the order in from a flyer we received in the mail with multiple locations. I called the wrong location and went to pick up from my local. Realizing my error they expedited my order and it was delicious. They could not have been nicer or more helpful. Absolutely coming back for other food!“
“Owners are friendly and always nice, especially to the little toddlers. Pizza is good, as well as their other dishes including salads. Small and quaint atmosphere with several tables. Service is great.Parking: It's in a mini-mall so always available parking.Kid-friendliness: They love the little ones. ?“
“Absolutely adore the owners . Food is literally Manhattan quality gourmet food to me . That's where I'm originally from . Lol . The owner is amazing hands on , he cooks he is fully hands on with each customer ALWAYS !!. His daughter is a beautiful delight to have as waitress an everything she does not only being such a fun young woman she does anything needed around the family restaurant. I'm always given something free while I'm there an treated as I personally know these beautiful humans. I do not know them! Just an amazing experience all around . Must try“
“We dined at The Market Tavern several times over the years and were pleasantly surprised to experience Sapori Cafe. The new owner has transformed the restaurant into something completely different, with its own unique identity, but kept the charm of the original building, which we love. The food and service were amazing, with specials to satisfy everyone’s palette, and it’s a BYOB to top it off. The string bean salad with beets, and the Lobster ravioli entree special with shrimp and scallops, served in a vodka sauce, was my favorite. Sapori Cafe is definitely a welcomed gem to the area, and we hope to be back very soon.“
“Landed here by chance but it was our lucky day we did. The service and the food was phenomenal. Marianna was a sweetheart, and she attended to our needs very nicely. We had Muscles and two different pastas, and they were all out of this world! We live in North Jersey and I have not eaten such fresh and delicious food up there. Yes it’s a hole in the wall but you can go to a fancy restaurants that overcharges you but will not give you this kind of authentic flavors!Looking forward to coming back every time we come near here.“
“Excellent! Staff allowed us ample time to sit and visit even after we'd eaten. They did a fair amount of rearranging tables around us, but as it was Easter I realize things had been set differently to accommodate groups that day. Food was delicious and service was attentive“
“I’ve never had anything but excellent pizza from Sorrento’s. It’s a very solid, local pizza place. I always order it in advance and then walk to pick it up and the guys in there are always super friendly. If you are picking up, it’s easy to park on the street right in front and pop in a grab your food. All I want from a regular old school pizza place is good pizza and Sorrento’s never disappoints.“
“This place is amazing. My family always gets multiple orders of chicken alba and peppercorn chicken. The arugula salad dressing is too good. The continuity isn't always there, the orders are often different depending on the day so I always make sure to check the bag, but the atmosphere is fantastic and the service as well. one of the best places in the area.“
“Causal pizza restaurant but not like your typical pizzeria. It's located in an old house. Friendly staff. Pizza is some of the best in the area! The fettuccine carbonara is also one of their best pasta dishes! Also able to get packaged goods to go. Full bar as well.“
“My wife and a good friend ate at Mia Nonna's yesterday. I have never given a restaurant a review because I never felt compelled to. That changed yesterday. The first thing we noticed was the fantastic attitude of the staff. Eager and constantly at our service. Then there was the food. Excellent and generous portions. And served HOT! First, we started with an order of the Fresh Fried Calamari. Shared 3 ways it was excellent. I had the veal saltimbocca. As another reviewer commented, I got two very large portions of veal, pounded so thin it was almost as thin as the prosciutto. Served with broccoli, carrots, and roasted potatoes. One of my favorites when dining Italian. This was one of the best. My wife had the special veal dish and my friend had the penne alla scampi. Everything was excellent. We finished with dessert, home made creme brûlée, spumoni bomba (strawberry pistachio and chocolate gelato covered with chocolate). The wait staff was excellent and always there meeting our needs. And equally important to seniors with hearing aids, it was quiet with gentle background music. A very pleasant dining experience. We have definitely added Mia Nonna's to our "weekend night out" list. We will be back soon.“
“Very nice place for food and drinks, waiter was somewhat slow, due to understaffing, tending to very large birthday party. Otherwise on other days, pretty good service and drinks. Try them, you'll become a regular in your first visit.Parking: Good parking and handicap accessible.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, go there, you'll see!!!Wheelchair accessibility: Access by wheelchair, very accessible, ramp in rear of building also, front entry will also accommodate a wheelchair, level first floor.“
“We frequently order from Enzo's for our office, not only is the food excellent the service a fantastic. Always consistent, always reliable. We love Enzo's if you haven't tried them yet, you are missing out. Everything is delicious and fresh. You will not be disappointed make them your go to for everything from Pizza, salads, sandwiches and more! I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant the owner and his son are absolutely wonderful.“
“Stopped here for lunch. Food was excellent and very much enjoyed the antipasto bar. Place was very clean and welcoming and service was great. The only thing we didn't like was the boardwalk pizza- zero flavor so that was a little disappointing. If we are in the area again, we would definitely stop here for lunch or dinner for their delicious meals, salads and antipasto bar!“
“This is the best Italian restaurant in the area. Not only is the food delicious, but the staff is just so kind. Every time we come here we feel so welcomed and well taken care of. Truly love supporting this business and so glad we found it when we moved here!“
