“First time here and the customer service was outstanding! Everyone was so polite and friendly. I ordered 9 of their sides because I don’t meat and here’s my honest review. I’m glad they were open because I didn’t cook this year.

Rice and peas- needed salt
Mac and cheese- not creamy enough but decent
Cabbage- it was good
Okra- it was ok
String beans- delicious
Collards- delicious
Dressing- 👎🏽 taste like stove top stuffing
Mashed potatoes- delicious
Candy yams- delicious”

“I had a chance to visit Fatu's Kitchen and the food was amazingly delicious. My coworker told me about a beautiful place in NJ that sell Liberian food. I was little in doubt about the place and began to ask questions, because I was traveling from NYC just to get a taste of Liberian food, and man she did not disappoint me. In NYC, we often run into Ghanaian, Nigerian and Senegalese restaurants, but I never seen an established Liberian restaurant. Thanks so much Fatu for incredible Lib food!”

“Found this place recently and had to give them a shot. It’s in the hood so I figured it would be good as it had higher reviews than most around that area. I got the stew chicken with black rice and the lalo with white rice. Everything was delicious except for the black rice, it tasted and smelled burnt but I live too far to bring it back.”

“This place has been my to go spot when picking up patties for party’s, gatherings, etc. Their patties aren’t big and square like the typical Haitian patties; it’s more rectangular and portion controlled. My only thing is - is the pickup for phone orders. You can call and place an order but expect to wait a bit when you arrive. In my opinion it’s pointless to even call for the order but the patties are tasty so it’s worth it for me.”

“Delicious food!! Since I don't eat meat, I appreciate when the slicer is cleaned prior to my cheese being sliced. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. The food is absolutely delicious though!!!”

The potatoes are delicious they make the eggs just right I really enjoy eating food from Charlies. The owner has always been kind to me, as well as the young ladies behind the counter. “Ordered a 3 tier cake at La Baguette in Elizabeth to be picked up here, for me to arrange it myself with my own decorations since the party was in Connecticut the following day, and they did a great job working with me. It was very tasty and great texture (even after being in the fridge overnight for the party the next day)”

“This place is a gem!! a must eat!! We found it through Uber Eats and ordered 1x. It was so good. The portions were amazing. Portions are like something grandma would serve her hungry kids. We visited and now I frequent it almost daily! Homefries platter is not for the faint of heart. You've got to have a hearty appetite or share it out. Grits platter...well...something of a southern treasure! Beef bacon egg and cheese sandwich is always a perfect on the run, goodie! We tried the shrimp over rice and that was nice. Chicken over rice was even better as it had a slight kick to it. And again, no matter what you order, bring a healthy appetite cause you're gonna need it and a long nap, after! These guys are amazing!! Truly! They're sweet! They're efficient! They can throw down on that gril!! Yummmmm Oh...and if you've never had it, their lemon ginger drink is amazeballs!! This place really is a gem in the middle of a jungle 😆 Visit them and be kind! Far too many ppl are not kind or feel entitled to speak to them ill mannered. Please don't! “Came in around 8pm after worked, tired from work, didn’t want to travel for my normal place I go for my west Indian food , I find this little gem and ordered to my dietary standards, got curry goat and all veggies and food was fresh tasting and very well seasoned and tender, was a bit surprised as I don’t like trying new places , definitely will be back to try different menu options, service is great and a welcoming atmosphere.. Highly recommended”

“Great chicken. Would highly recommend putting the sides in separate containers, as combining everything in one, cheap styrofoam container causes the sides and sauces to spill onto each other. Quite annoying.”

“A nice place to get combos. Probably the only place I would get it (for now).

Food- picadinho is my favorite!!! The other combos are okay. They can be dry and at times, undercooked. I am not a fan of the rice… unless it has caldo from the meat. Fries seem to be frozen prior to cooking.

Service- calling gives me anxiety. I understand they’re busy but that’s no excuse to be short with a customer or to rush them. Imagine if you’re ordering for the first time!

Parking- better than most places. Can get crowded though.

Atmosphere- it is spacious inside. Average decor. It’s nice to see the food being cooked nearby. The waitress was nice the one time I went to dine in with family. But they overcharged for orders that would’ve been cheaper had we taken the food to go. Food/spread was great though.

Pricing- decent for combos, although it did go up. Pastries are overpriced but that’s common. Tres leches is pretty good!”
