“This was the loveliest dining experience I have had in my life! From the moment we walked in we were greeted with such warmth and cheer. The host Chris wished me a happy birthday upon our arrival and we were even given a menu with "Happy Birthday" printed on it. What a kind gesture, right? We were shown out to the gorgeous string lit terrace with heat lamps and beautiful greenery everywhere. We were given champagne on the house and delicious sourdough bread. Erin our server was so sweet and genuine it felt like we were regulars although it was our first time there. We were too full to order dessert, but they brought out a piece of cake with a candle anyway to celebrate. “This is my first time in Philly so it’s my first time trying cheesesteaks. I’ve tried the two “kings” (Geno’s and Pat’s). After seeing my Geno’s wrapper, the valet at the hotel told me I needed to try the cheesesteak at Oh Brothers. Well, the valet was correct. Oh Brother has a much better cheesesteak. For review sake I kept it simple with all my orders. “Wiz with” (cheese wiz with onions) the Oh Brother steak was much more flavorful, actually had seasoning and the bread is perfectly soft. Those other sandwiches obviously have their place, but if you sat these three sandwiches in front of me, I’m going to choose the Oh Brother steak every time. I will also mention I ordered this sandwich through DoorDash and it was still the best. Their shakes are also really good.“

In my recent researches I found that there were several Catholic churches built in the Philadelphia area that were torn down suddenly in the 1800s and this Applebee's location was built atop one of them. The researches aren't clear why they were torn down so quickly and hidden from the historical record but there was also a scandal of priests studying dark texts at the same time, also hidden from history.When stepping across the threshold I felt a chill run down my spine. I was seated promptly and color drained from everything in my view. My server Nadia was very nice, I appreciated her attentiveness and prompt and courteous demeanor. Stepping into the bathroom I did note that the foundation seemed to be cracking and a curl of a mist casting a sense of gloom was emerging from this chasm.I knelt down and a sulfurous hint of brimstone hit me. I assume this was a plumbing issue, which will probably be resolved soon. Leaving the bathroom and passing by the kitchen door as it swung open, the seating area was struck in the sharp shadows of intense flames dancing across the walls. There were also screams.I can recommend the grilled chicken and shrimp dish, but would not recommend the Mac and cheese dish.“

I had the yuba hoagie, which was so divine that I finished the whole thing! If you love garlic, the toum dipping sauce that comes with the za'atar fries is unreal! “On Point was very on point with our brunch. It's a BYOB spot in heart of Point Breeze with some great flavors and vibes. The group sampled quite a few starters including wings and cheesesteak egg rolls. For the main meal I had to go with the Challah French Toast. Unique flavor especially with the cheese and nuts. “My son and I were in the mood for good burgers. Google suggested this location, so we gave it a go. You walk into the bar area and are greeted with a smile and told to sit wherever you like. The menu was not large, but it was still pretty difficult to pick from the interesting, creative, and deliciously described burgers. My son and I decided to split our top 2 picks. The buns were light, and the burgers were surprisingly easy to go down. We were both astonished how quickly we took down the breakfast and classic burgers. The fries were well-seasoned and cooked well, and the shoestring onion rings were a nice treat. “Top notch service! Location was a close walk to other attractions in the area. Staff were all super friendly, and the food is amazing! Three of us ordered cheese steaks, all three of us loved them! “Had not been here in many years since Nikki use to be our waitress and her mother was hostess manager who always made strawberry milkshake for my daughter.....fast forward we came in were promptly seated in back room which I was happy about less crowded, older lady seating us asked what we wanted to drink and said our server Jacob would be over in a minute. She brought our drinks and he promptly arrived, greeted us and answered our questions and took our order. Soup was hot and delicious and the bread was fresh and butter not melted and refrozen like many places recycle customers bread and butter. Jacob kept checking back on us, he was prompt to get refills and ask if we needed anything When came time for deserts our first two choices he came back and said manager said they were old and would not serve, A+ for honesty. Only problem was older man on register seemed to be unsure having problem with credit card... Everything was so good.We came back again asked for Jacob but this time we were sat out front. Right from get go it seemed different, the older guy that had problem with credit card seemed to be a bother seating us, seemed unsure who was working what tables.Jacob was prompt and friendly and food and service were great in fact my meal was filling which for me is a rarity. I got the Hippy Benny and it was PHENOMENAL!!! The ingredients were fresh and the potatoes were incredible. I went with a large group and some other favorites were the pancakes, the breakfast flatbread, and the Texan Benny. The atmosphere was fun and upbeat while still remaining casual and family friendly. “Wow! Social media and marketing are sooo integral and beneficial in our lives! A post card for $25 off a birthday meal brought my attention and patronage to Chuck Lager's a few months ago. We were so impressed with the space and food that I decided to have my daughter's milestone 21st birthday party here! Cindy, one of the manager's, did a stellar job in helping plan and execute the party, from my concept and our emails to the day of! We had a wonderful, cost free, private room to enjoy. It easily could hold 30-40 people. We had 22. It boasts an open airy feel, has three big flat screen tv's, speakers, heat lamps and fans. We arrived an hour early to decorate with balloons, banners, and table toppers. I also brought my daughter's custom cookies and ice-cream cake. Our server, Gianna, was very attentive, friendly, and sweet. She was always an earshot away and on point in all ways. I made sure to give her a nice cash tip. No room fee, plating fee, and the bill was reasonable for all the food we got - salads, flat bread pizzas (the fig prosciutto was insane!), wings, fries, and Bavarian pretzels. Every guest commented on how good the food / party was. We had our privacy, plus full access to the bar. Other than wishing we had outlets to use and a bigger trashcan, no other complaints at all. This party was stellar and as perfect as could be! :)“

The veggie burger, vegetable wrap, and red pepper hummus with pita are all vegan. Yay! If you're into meat, you've got loads of options. Food spans a cross between gastro pub and dive bar (read: soups, chili, wings, steak tip sandwiches; quesadilla, nachos, and a variety of sandwiches.) Prices are reasonable and sandwiches come with fries or salad. The beer list is pretty long for a neighborhood watering hole. I snagged a pint of a great black lager, and also tried the Fiddlehead white which was nice too. There were about eight brews on draft and double that number in cans and bottles, plus ciders. Sitting under a tree trapped up in fairy lights on the outdoor patio was quite nice. Indoors is dark wood and a long bar and TV screens. Good place for sports fans or biergarten lunchers. We ordered the Peach Cobbler French Toast, the Cinnamon Bun French Toast and a side order of bacon. Our server asked what our crispness preference for the bacon was, which I've never been asked before and it was served exactly as requested. The portions are massive and very flavorful and fresh.
